Chapter 152
Felix's eyes flashed with a hint of coldness, and then he said slowly, "Pretty good."
"I get it's awkward for Thomas at the company, but you two are brothers. I still hope you can help him more. After all, he..."
At this point, a hint of sadness flashed in Natalie's eyes. She sighed and said nothing more.
Felix looked indifferent but still nodded. "If he doesn't do anything out of line, he'll be treated right."
After all, the position of the President of the Clinton Group could have been Thomas's.
But after his parents had a car accident, Thomas went abroad directly.
After Felix took over the Clinton Group, he put in a lot of effort to bring the Clinton Group to its current position. It was obviously impossible for Felix to hand it over to Thomas.
"Alright, after a while, when Thomas decides to stay in Dawnridge, I will give him some money to start his own business. When the time comes, if you can help, please do," said Natalie.
"Okay, I understand."
The two stopped there and didn't continue the topic.
Felix still had some paperwork to review, so after spending some time with Natalie, he went to the study to work.
Only Natalie and Gianna remained in the living room. She held Gianna's hand and said softly, "Gianna, thank you for giving Felix a chance."
Natalie really didn't want to part with Gianna. She thought Gianna was very good.
Sometimes, Natalie envied Henry and Kimberly a lot. If Natalie had a granddaughter as good as Gianna, she would definitely cherish her.
It was just that the people in the Redstone family had poor eyesight and always thought Bella was better than Gianna everywhere.
"Grandmother Natalie, even if I give him a chance, I can't guarantee that we will always be together."
Natalie nodded. "I understand. If you give up on him again, it must be because he has done something to hurt you, and I will definitely not plead for him."
A warm feeling crossed Gianna's heart. "Grandmother Natalie, thank you!"
"Over the years, I have already treated you as my biological granddaughter! By the way, do you have any girls around your age?" asked Natalie.
"Why do you ask?"
Natalie sighed, her voice lowered a bit. "Thomas is three years older than Felix and hasn't even dated. Ximena can't find a suitable partner for him, and this has always been a concern of mine."
With both of Thomas's parents deceased, once Natalie passed away, he would truly be alone, so Natalie hoped Thomas would get married soon.
After thinking for a while, Gianna shook her head. "Grandmother Natalie, I don't have girls of that age around me, but you can host a banquet and invite unmarried socialites from Dawnridge to attend. Maybe Thomas will meet a girl he likes."
"But under what pretext?"
Gianna smiled and said, "Thomas has been away from Dawnridge for so many years. How about throwing him a welcome party?"
Natalie's eyes lit up at the suggestion. "Gianna, you're so clever! Let's do that!"
When Felix finished reading the documents and returned to the living room, he saw Gianna and Natalie huddled together, whispering about something.
"Grandmother Natalie, Gianna, what are you doing?" asked Felix.
Natalie looked up at him. "It's none of your business. Just take care of yourself."
The two continued to discuss for a while, and Natalie finally made a decision. "Alright, it will be this weekend!"
As soon as she finished speaking, a servant approached. "Mrs. Clinton, dinner is ready."
"Go to the garden and call Thomas to come for dinner."
Soon, the four of them sat down to eat.
Natalie sat at the head of the table, with Thomas and Felix seated on either side of her and Gianna sitting next to Felix.
During the meal, Thomas was very quiet, except for occasionally responding to Natalie. He kept his head down and ate silently.
Felix's face visibly darkened when he saw Gianna frequently looking at Thomas.
Right after finishing the meal, Felix drove Gianna back.
On the way back, Felix was all ice, giving short replies to anything Gianna said.
Seeing that Felix was clearly angry, Gianna felt puzzled.
"Felix, what's wrong with you tonight? Did I make you angry?"
Felix looked indifferent, his voice somewhat sarcastic.
"Why were you staring at Thomas during dinner? It seemed like he was your boyfriend!"
Gianna couldn't help but smile, raising an eyebrow at Felix. "Are you really angry because of this?"
"Isn't this enough?"
"Alright, alright, but it's because Grandmother Natalie wanted me to introduce a girlfriend to him today. However, I don't have anyone suitable around me, so I suggested throw a welcome party for him, inviting the socialites from Dawnridge to attend."
Felix sneered, "This doesn't seem like a welcome party. It looks more like a wife selection party."
After a few seconds of silence, Gianna looked at Felix and said, "I noticed that you seem to be hostile toward Thomas. Do you have a conflict with him?"
"No, we just don't get along."
Seeing Felix's bad mood, Gianna didn't continue to ask.
When the two returned to their residence, they happened to meet Ximena, who had come to see Felix.
Ximena's eyes darkened slightly when she saw Gianna. 'Did Felix really reconcile with Gianna?' she thought.
Understanding that Ximena didn't seem to like her very much, Gianna greeted her lightly and then turned to Felix. "I'll go back to my room first."
Ximena suddenly stopped Gianna, smiling. "No need. I just came to bring Felix some desserts I made. You can put them in the fridge later and have them when you have time."
Seeing the desserts handed over by Ximena, Gianna was somewhat surprised, not understanding why her attitude toward her had changed so drastically.
Seeing that Gianna didn't take them, Ximena smiled and said, "Gianna, I did have some opinions about you before, but I've thought it over recently. Your thing with Felix is your business, and I shouldn't interfere."
Gianna didn't understand why Ximena had this change of heart, but she still took the desserts handed over by Ximena.
"Thanks for understanding, Mrs. White."
Ximena didn't say anything more. She exchanged a few words with Felix and then left.
After putting the desserts in the fridge, Gianna was about to go back to her room to take a shower. Just as she turned around, Felix pinned her between him and the fridge.
"Felix, you..."
Before Gianna could finish her sentence, Felix kissed her.
Gianna unconsciously grabbed Felix's shirt and could only respond to his kiss.
It wasn't until Gianna was almost suffocating that Felix let her go.
"Come to my room tonight."
"No, I said my condition for staying here is separate rooms. You can't go back on your word."
Felix looked down at Gianna, her eyes firm and unwavering. "Alright."
Gianna pushed Felix away, smiling. "Felix, we should wash up and go to bed."
Felix held Gianna's waist, lowered his head, and gave her another long kiss.
"This is my compensation for sleeping alone."
Just as Gianna was about to speak, Felix's phone suddenly rang.
Seeing that it was Sophia, Felix let go of Gianna. "I'll take this call."
"Okay."
Felix went to the living room to answer the phone, and after a brief conversation, he hung up and walked into the kitchen.
"There's a problem at the company. I need to go over it now. I might be back very late, so you should rest early."
Seeing Felix's gloomy expression, Gianna nodded. "Okay, you should go quickly. Work is important."
A strange and indescribable emotion flashed in Felix's eyes. He held Gianna for a while before leaving.
Just as he reached the door, Gianna's voice suddenly came from behind him.
"Wait!"
Felix's body suddenly stiffened, and the hand hanging by his side involuntarily tightened.
