Chapter 342

Constance didn't even know this dude named Felix.

Jennifer shot Constance a death glare, but Constance just smirked back, totally unfazed.

Everyone around was pushing Jennifer to get on stage with Constance, or else they were all toast.

Jennifer sneered at the greedy businessmen, "No way I'm risking my neck for you selfish jerks!"

"Jennifer, if you won't do it, we'll have to find another way."

Panic flashed in Jennifer's eyes, and she snapped, "You wouldn't dare! Unless you wanna mess with the Chambers family!"

"Who cares about the Chambers family when we might not make it out alive?"

"Yeah, you and Bella get up there, or we'll make you. Don't blame us if you get hurt!"

As the crowd argued, Ryan set off another bomb.

A pillar in the banquet hall blew up, sending debris flying and people screaming.

Constance winced at the damage. This hotel was Drake family property. Once they dealt with Ryan, she'd make the Clinton Group pay big time!

At that moment, everyone had enough of Jennifer's stalling and shoved her onto the stage.

Jennifer freaked out and tried to bolt, but the crowd blocked her.

"Jennifer, stay put!"

Constance found it hilarious. When it came to life and death, everyone only looked out for themselves.

"Miss Redstone, now that Jennifer's up there, you should go too, right?"

The guy's tone was threatening, like they'd drag Constance up if she didn't move.

Constance chuckled, hopped off the windowsill, and strolled towards the stage.

"Of course, I always keep my word," she said.

The crowd parted for her. Constance looked calm, a faint smile on her lips, like she was heading to a party, not her doom.

All eyes were on her, and whispers filled the room.

"Why does she look better than when she was with Felix? Her face looks more natural."

"You're imagining things. This cold-hearted woman makes me sick."

"But her vibe's improved. Maybe we didn't notice before?"

Amid the chatter, Constance stepped onto the stage.

Ryan barked at Jennifer, "Find something to tie her hands!"

Jennifer's eyes flashed with malice. She couldn't find anything, so she ripped off her dress belt and tied Constance's hands behind her back, making a tight knot.

Jennifer thought, 'Tonight, I'm making sure this bitch dies here!'

Constance smiled, but her eyes were icy. Jennifer was out to kill her.

After checking Constance was securely tied, Ryan said coldly, "Walk to me yourself, or no deal."

Constance turned to walk towards Ryan, but Jennifer shoved her hard from behind. She fell forward, and Ryan's knife was aimed at her chest!

Suddenly, Constance twisted to the side.

The hard impact with the ground made Constance wince, and her hatred for Jennifer peaked.

Ryan saw Jennifer's move and glared at her. "Do you wanna die?"

Jennifer looked innocent, eyes wide with fear. "I was too nervous. I didn't mean it."

Ryan ignored her, tossed the woman he was holding aside, and yanked Constance up, pressing the dagger to her neck.

"Go get Felix!"

Meanwhile, Felix was chilling on a sofa in the lounge.

There was a knock on the door.

Felix opened his eyes and said coldly, "Come in."

Bella walked in with a cup of milk, looking all concerned. "Felix, you haven't rested well because of the celebration banquet. I heated up some milk for you. Drink it while it's warm."

Felix ordered, "Get out."

Bella's face fell, but she bravely stepped forward and put the milk on the table.

"Felix, I'm doing this for you," she said.

Felix snapped, "Get out. Don't make me say it again!"

The cold look on his face made Bella nervous, but being acknowledged as his girlfriend tonight gave her a bit more courage.

"I'm not leaving. I want to stay and take care of you!" she insisted, her voice stubborn.

Felix opened his eyes and looked at her. Over the years, Bella had been copying Gianna. He knew it but didn't care.

After all, he really missed Gianna. Seeing Bella's increasingly similar face and behavior sometimes made him feel like Gianna was still around, which was why he kept Bella close.

But now, Bella seemed to have ideas she shouldn't.

"Calling you my girlfriend at the banquet was just to keep others from throwing women at me. Don't get any ideas," Felix said coldly.

Bella's breath hitched, and her eyes started to water.

"Felix, I've been by your side for three years. Do you really have no feelings for me at all?" she asked.

"You know very well why you stayed by my side," Felix replied, his words like a slap to Bella's face.

"I stayed by your side because I love you. Isn't three years enough to prove my love for you?" she said, her voice trembling.

Felix mocked, "Then your love is really cheap!"

Not wanting to waste any more words, Felix got up to leave. As he walked past Bella, she suddenly hugged him.

"Felix, don't leave me," she pleaded.

Before she could finish, Felix pushed her away harshly.

Bella fell to the ground, the physical pain nothing compared to the pain in her heart from seeing his look of disgust.

"Know your place. I can keep you around, but I can also make you leave anytime!" Felix said coldly.

With that, he turned and left.

Bella stared at his back, her hands clutching her dress tightly. She thought, 'I won't give up! I'm determined to become the wife of the president of the Clinton Group!'

After leaving the lounge, Felix was in a foul mood. Seeing James walking quickly down the corridor, he said coldly, "Take me home."

He had drunk at the banquet and was now nauseated by Bella's perfume.

"Yes, Mr. Clinton," James replied.

James had just driven away from the hotel when he got a call from the hotel manager.

"Mr. Mars, something's happened! A guy named Ryan has planted bombs in the hotel and around it. He's holding people hostage in the banquet hall and demands to see Mr. Clinton! Otherwise, he'll blow up the hotel and kill everyone!"

Hearing this, James's face turned grim. He braked and reported the situation to Felix.

"Turn back!" Felix's expression was icy, and his words were not to be questioned.

James was worried and said in a low voice, "Mr. Clinton, maybe I should go. The hotel is too dangerous now."

"Ryan is here for me. If I don't go back, he won't give up," Felix said.

"Mr. Clinton," James started, but Felix just gave him a cold look.

Helpless, James turned the car around and headed back to the hotel.

As soon as they entered the hotel lobby, the manager rushed up in a panic. "Mr. Clinton, there's news from inside that your girlfriend is being held hostage by Ryan. This is a video secretly taken by a guest inside."

Felix took the video, and the moment he opened it, his expression suddenly froze.
