Chapter 273

Gianna shot back, "Yeah, what's your deal? Does it even matter when I met him?"

Felix went quiet for a sec, then looked down and said, "Starting tomorrow, don't let him bring your meds anymore. I'll grab them and have someone else drop them off every day."

Gianna was about to argue it made no difference, but seeing Felix's serious face, she just nodded, "Alright, whatever you say."

After dinner, they chilled with a movie and then hit their own rooms to crash.

The next day, around noon, Gianna got a call from Garrett.

Garrett said, "Gianna, Felix is really on your case. He was at my clinic door before it even opened this morning, telling me not to deliver your meds anymore and that he'd have someone else do it."

Hearing the teasing in Garrett's voice, Gianna raised an eyebrow, "And you just handed over the meds?"

Garrett laughed, "Hell no, my prescriptions aren't cheap. But since he's your guy, I gave him a discount and only charged him two million bucks. Sweet deal, right?"

Gianna couldn't help but get mad. How could he have called that a deal?

Gianna laughed, "Garrett, you're still as full of it as ever!"

Garrett replied, "Thanks for the compliment! By the way, have you thought about Jonah's situation? If he doesn't get that surgery soon, it could be game over."

Hearing Garrett's serious tone, Gianna bit her lip, eyes full of doubt.

Gianna said, "Garrett, he's my friend."

Garrett replied, "He's also a patient."

Gianna sighed, "I'm scared if the surgery fails, I'll feel guilty forever."

Garrett frowned, "If you try to save him, he still has a shot. If you don't, he's just waiting to die."

Gianna said, "Let me think about it."

Garrett reminded, "There's not much time left. He needs surgery in three days. Think it over, but don't stress too much. As a doctor, just do your best. Some things are out of our hands."

Gianna replied, "Okay, I get it."

After hanging up, Garrett called Jonah's doctor to fill him in.

At the hospital, in Jonah's room.

Ever since he found out about the blood clot in his brain and the 10% success rate of the surgery, Jonah spent most of his time staring out the window.

Kyle didn't know how to comfort him and just stayed by his side quietly.

At the same time, Kyle was getting more pissed at Gianna. If it weren't for saving her, Jonah wouldn't have fainted, gotten hit by the chandelier, and now be waiting to die so young.

Kyle, looking frustrated, said to Jonah, "Why not go for the surgery? There's still a 10% chance. If you don't, you're just waiting to die."

Jonah turned to look at him, his face blank, "Is there any difference between 10% and zero?"

Since he was going to die anyway, he wanted to choose a less painful way and didn't want to die on the operating table.

Kyle scratched his head, "If you don't want the surgery, at least tell Gianna you ended up like this because you saved her. Otherwise, even if you die, she won't feel any guilt!"

Jonah smiled bitterly, "I should have been swept away by the flood in Sunnydale Meadows. She saved me, giving me more time to live. It's just going back to the outcome of Sunnydale Meadows. I got to live a bit longer, so it's not a loss."

Kyle shot back, "Dude, you're only twenty-two! You're the hottest actor in my company. How am I supposed to accept that you won't make it past six months?"

Jonah stayed calm and was about to say something when the door swung open, and the butler from the Getty family wheeled in Daniel.

Jonah asked, "What are you doing here?"

His eyes were cold, filled with disdain, and even a hint of hatred.

Daniel coughed lightly and said angrily, "You didn't tell me about your illness. What do you think I'm here for?"

Jonah sneered, "Now you remember you're a father. Where were you when my mom was sick and couldn't afford treatment? Where were you when I was begging for food on my knees? We had no relationship before, and we won't have one in the future!"

Daniel shouted, "Nonsense! I felt guilty about you and your mom, so I let you do whatever you wanted. But I won't indulge you anymore. Pack your things and come back to Thundertop with me. I'll find the best doctors to treat you!"

Jonah refused, "No need. The world's top brain specialists have seen me. They can't perform the surgery. I only have six months left."

Hearing this, Daniel was furious, gritting his teeth, "Impossible! I won't let you die! You must live to inherit the Getty Group!"

Jonah found it laughable. When he and his mom couldn't afford food and needed money, Daniel looked on coldly.

If he wanted to help, they wouldn't have starved or frozen. His mom wouldn't have had to work herself to death. She eventually died with regret.

Now that he didn't need money, Daniel was offering the Getty Group to him on a silver platter, asking him to inherit it.

Jonah said, "If you don't believe me, you can ask the doctors yourself. I'm tired and need to rest. Please leave and don't come back."

With that, Jonah lay down and closed his eyes, saying to Kyle, "Kyle, see him out!"

"You!" Daniel was so angry he wanted to hit Jonah with his cane. No one had ever dared to speak to him like that.

But Jonah was his only son. No matter what, he had to live to inherit the Getty Group!

Kyle stepped forward and said softly, "Mr. Getty, please."

Daniel ignored him, looking at Jonah's back, "I'll go ask the doctors. Tomorrow, you must come back to Thundertop with me."

Jonah yelled, "Get out!"

Daniel left the room in a rage, muttering on his way to the doctor's office, "If he weren't my only son, I wouldn't care about him!"

The butler stayed quiet behind him. After all, this was a family matter, and he could get fired on the spot if he talked too much.

Initially, Daniel didn't believe Jonah's condition was so dire, but after hearing from the attending physician and several renowned international doctors, he began to worry.

Daniel said, "Send these reports to the family doctor and ask for his opinion."

Leon replied, "Yes, sir."

Soon, the family doctor responded, and his assessment was even more severe, suggesting Jonah could only live for three months.

Daniel had trusted this family doctor for years. Even if he didn't believe other doctors, he wouldn't doubt his family doctor.

If Jonah died, the Getty Group would have no heir!

Thinking of this, he asked the attending physician, "Is there no other way to save him? Money is not the matter. I'll pay whatever it takes to make him well!"

The attending physician shook his head helplessly, "Mr. Getty, six months is our best estimate. If his condition worsens quickly, he is not going to live three months."
