Chapter 360

Felix didn't even flinch as the hot porridge splashed all over his chest, soaking his hospital gown in an instant.

Eliza was stunned that he didn't move, and her face twisted with anger.

Felix's eyes were cold as he stared at Eliza, saying slowly, "Mrs. Drake, because you're Constance's mom, I'll let this slide. But if it happens again..."

Eliza snapped out of it and sneered, "What if it happens again? You gonna kill me? I'm warning you, stay away from Constance, or the Clinton Group can kiss its future in Thundertop goodbye!"

Before she could finish, Constance jumped in, "Mom, stop it!"

Felix had just saved her, and even though his motives weren't pure, Constance felt she owed him. Her mom's behavior made her feel guilty.

Eliza shot Constance a look and said irritably, "I'll set you up on dates once you're out of here. You can't be with a man who has no conscience!"

Felix didn't say another word, just turned to Constance and said, "I'll see you tomorrow."

After he left, Eliza rushed over to Constance, worry all over her face. "Did he do anything to you?"

Constance shook her head. "No. From now on, don't interfere with my dealings with him. I'll handle it."

"If you could handle it, he wouldn't have set foot in this room today," Eliza said worriedly.

Constance frowned, confused. "Mom, even if Felix sees me as a stand-in for his ex-wife, you don't have to act like he's done something unforgivable."

Eliza's face hardened, and she said coldly, "Constance, you probably don't know what happened three years ago. Felix's ex-wife and his ex-girlfriend were kidnapped by his cousin, and he had to choose one to save. Without a second thought, Felix chose his ex-girlfriend. Do you think a man like that can be trusted?"

Hearing this, Constance felt a pang in her chest and pressed her lips together.

Constance thought, 'Why does this hurt so much? Am I feeling sad for Felix's dead ex-wife? But if he chose his ex-girlfriend over his wife, it means he didn't care about her. Now, he's pretending to be all lovey-dovey with me just to get close to the Drake family.'

Thinking about it made her feel uneasy, though she wasn't sure if it was for his ex-wife or something else.

Constance replied, "Mom, I get it. I'll keep my distance from him."

Eliza snorted, "Not just keep your distance. Stay far away from him!"

Constance couldn't help but smile. "Alright, I get it. But you can't treat him like that again. He's the president of the Clinton Group. Pissing him off won't do us any good."

Even though the Drake family was powerful in Thundertop, they couldn't just offend people left and right without consequences.

Eliza said, "As long as he stays away from you, I'll be civil."

Constance looked exasperated. "Just don't use violence. Once you do, you're in the wrong."

Constance figured she needed to find a way to apologize to Felix for what happened today. If he ended up hating the Drake family because of this, it would be a problem.

"Alright," Eliza replied.

After lunch, Eliza left. Constance was still thinking about the morning's incident and decided to go to Felix's ward to apologize in person.

As she got close to the door, she heard a woman's voice inside. "Felix, I made this porridge for you. The doctor said you shouldn't eat anything too greasy. Try it."

The next second, Felix's cold voice cut through. "Pack your things and leave. Don't come back. I don't want to see you."

His voice was icy, and even through the door, Constance could feel his indifference towards the woman.

"Felix, I..." Bella still refused to leave, trying to persuade Felix.

"Don't make me repeat myself, Bella. Have I been too soft on you all these years, making you think you had a shot with me?"

There was a moment of silence, followed by the sound of Bella's sobbing.

Constance hesitated, unsure if she should leave.

Suddenly, the door swung open, and Bella carrying a lunchbox walked out.

They both froze, looking shocked. Bella's eyes even showed a hint of fear.

"Gianna? You're not dead?" The lunchbox slipped from Bella's hand, and she took a couple of steps back in fear.

Seeing that Bella looked almost identical to her, Constance was also stunned. But when she heard her call her Gianna, she frowned. "Miss, you've got the wrong person. My name is Constance, not Gianna."

Bella stared at her, eyes full of doubt. "You're not dead?"

Bella thought, 'For years, I've been looking at Gianna's photo, trying to imitate her every day. I know that face! Gianna isn't dead and is even pretending not to know me!'

Constance's expression turned cold, and she instinctively disliked the woman in front of her. Just as she was about to speak, Felix suddenly appeared behind Bella.

Felix asked, "Why are you here?"

Felix's gaze on Constance carried a hint of expectation. But Constance said calmly, "Mr. Clinton, I came to apologize for this morning. My mom was too emotional. I hope you can forgive her."

Hearing this, a trace of disappointment flashed in Felix's eyes, and he smiled self-deprecatingly. How could he have thought she came because she was worried about him?

Felix replied, "I understand. Do you have anything else?"

Noticing his somewhat cold attitude, Constance pressed her lips together. "No, Mr. Clinton, take care of yourself. I'll cover your and James's medical expenses. Once you're discharged, I'll treat you to a meal to thank you properly."

Felix said nothing more, lowering his eyes as if deep in thought.

It wasn't until Constance's figure disappeared around the corner that Bella, still in shock, looked at Felix and said, "Felix, that woman is Gianna, right? She's not dead?"

Felix gave her a cold look, his voice devoid of warmth. "You don't seem very happy to see her alive."

"How could I be?" Bella forced a smile. "Gianna and I are sisters, and I feel very guilty about what happened three years ago. Seeing her alive makes me happy. But why does Gianna act like she doesn't know me?"

Felix said coldly, "That's none of your business. Don't provoke her again. She's someone you can't afford to mess with now!"

Leaving the hospital, Bella was still in shock that Gianna was alive and immediately called Lauren. "Mom, Gianna is still alive."

Lauren was equally shocked but had no time to worry about Gianna. "Bella, you must be mistaken. How could someone dead for three years still be alive? I have things to do here, so I'll hang up now."

After hanging up, Lauren downed the medicine on the table in one gulp.

She had finally managed to get pregnant again. Once the child was born, Julian would no longer go to Daisy!

Thinking of this, a hint of malice flashed in her eyes.

Although Jared had become mentally impaired, Daisy had been seeking treatment for him over the years, and he was showing signs of recovery. She couldn't let Daisy succeed!

Just as she finished taking the medicine, Julian walked into the bedroom, carrying a tray of snacks.

Ever since Lauren got pregnant, Julian's eyes were filled with tenderness whenever he saw her. "Lauren, you've been through a lot during your pregnancy. Have some snacks."
