Chapter 293
Seeing Natalie stay quiet, Felix kept going, "If we keep giving in, they'll just think the Clinton family is a bunch of pushovers. They'll get even bolder. We can't back down, not even an inch."
Locking eyes with Felix, Natalie, despite feeling torn up inside, didn't bring up handing over the key again.
Natalie asked, "Hey, where's Gianna? Haven't seen her around."
At that, a shadow crossed Felix's face, and he mumbled, "We broke up."
Natalie looked stunned, "Wait, didn't you just rent out all the ad screens at Dawnridge to propose to her? How'd you break up so fast?"
Felix sighed, "Natalie, just drop it. It's on me."
Natalie scoffed, "Of course, it's your fault. Gianna's super chill, and if she dumped you, you must've really messed up!"
Felix's face stayed cold, but you could tell he was in a foul mood.
Natalie added, "Since you two are done, I'll start setting Gianna up with new guys tomorrow. If you don't appreciate her, plenty of others will."
With that, Natalie got up to leave.
She hadn't even left the room before she was on her phone, calling friends to find eligible guys for Gianna. Felix finally snapped, "Grandma, you're crossing the line!"
Natalie put down her phone and glared at him, "What did I do? You two broke up, so I can't introduce her to new guys?"
Felix's face darkened, "How do you know she wants to date?"
Natalie shot back, "Doesn't matter if she wants to or not. I'll have options ready for her just in case. Women's minds change fast. She might like you today, but who knows about tomorrow? Besides, you're hot-headed and inconsiderate. Other than being rich and good-looking, what else do you have?"
Felix started wondering if Natalie was here to visit or just to piss him off.
Felix said, "Alright, if you've got nothing better to do, go play cards. Gianna and I will sort out our own stuff."
Natalie sneered, "Sort out? All you do is make Gianna mad."
Felix felt a sharp pain in his side and gritted his teeth, "Anyway, I won't let her be with another guy. Anyone who tries will regret it!"
Natalie glared at him, "It's good Gianna dumped you. You don't deserve her."
Felix might be a business genius, but he was a disaster in relationships. Any woman with him would suffer.
Felix said, "Deserve her or not, she's mine for life!"
Natalie sighed, "Don't be so sure. Gianna might soon realize she's better off without you."
Felix snapped, "Whose grandma are you, anyway?"
Natalie shot back, "Being your grandma doesn't mean I have to like you!"
After riling Felix up, Natalie left, feeling pretty pleased with herself.
Guys like him needed a wake-up call to treat their women better.
Once in the car, Natalie said, "Take me to Gianna's place! Haven't seen her in a while."
Half an hour later, Natalie got out of the car and saw Gianna's villa, sighing, "Yep, Gianna's definitely better off without Felix!"
She strolled up to the door and rang the bell. When Gianna opened it and saw Natalie, surprise flickered in her eyes.
"Natalie, what brings you here?" Gianna asked.
Natalie grinned, "Heard you're living here now, so I thought I'd drop by."
"Come on in," Gianna said, stepping aside.
Natalie followed her inside and plopped down on the sofa, glancing around the living room. It was all cozy and warm, totally Gianna's style, a far cry from Felix's stark black-and-white decor.
Gianna made a cup of tea for Natalie and said, a bit apologetically, "Sorry, Natalie, I didn't know you were coming, so I didn't prepare anything."
Natalie waved it off, "No need for that. Gianna, sit down. I just wanted to see you."
Once Gianna sat across from her, Natalie got straight to the point, "So, I heard you and Felix broke up?"
After a few seconds of silence, Gianna nodded, "Yeah, did Felix tell you?"
Natalie replied, "Felix is pretty banged up. I went to see him and asked why you weren't there. He said you didn't want him anymore. He looked so pitiful, but honestly, I didn't feel bad for him. He must've done something to hurt you, and he deserves it!"
Gianna bit her lip, worry flashing in her eyes.
She hadn't expected Felix to actually be hurt; she thought he and James were just messing with her.
"Natalie, how did Felix get hurt all of a sudden?" Gianna asked.
Seeing the concern in her eyes, Natalie knew Gianna still had feelings for Felix. She sighed inwardly, wondering how Felix got so lucky to have Gianna fall for him.
"Don't worry about him. He ticked off the wrong people, and they might still be after him. Anyway, since you two broke up, I've got some pics of eligible bachelors here. Take a look, and if you like any, I'll set you up!" Natalie said, handing her phone to Gianna, showing a photo of a guy in a suit.
"Natalie, I'm not looking to date right now. I want to focus on my career first," Gianna said.
"You can juggle career and love. Even if Felix gets better, I'll make him go on dates. Otherwise, he might still try to bug you!" Natalie added.
Gianna lowered her eyes, ignoring the ache in her heart, and forced a smile, "Then, Natalie, you should set up Felix first. I'm not in a rush."
Natalie nodded thoughtfully, "Alright, if you ever want to date, just let me know, and I'll set it up right away."
"Okay," Gianna replied absentmindedly.
Natalie hung around for a bit longer before finally getting up to leave.
"Gianna, whenever you have time, come to Harmony Garden to see me. Whether you're with Felix or not, I consider you my own granddaughter!" Natalie said.
"Okay, Grandma, let me know when you get home," Gianna replied.
"Alright." After Natalie left, Gianna went back to the living room and picked up her phone, opening her chat with Felix.
She typed: [Have you taken care of your wound?] but hesitated and deleted it.
She clutched her phone, typing and deleting the message over and over, but in the end, she sent nothing.
Just as she was about to put her phone away, Felix sent a question mark.
Gianna bit her lip, feeling a mix of shame and realization.
If Felix saw her typing, did that mean he was also staring at their chat, wondering if he should message her?
