Chapter 302

The guard said, "No way. You never really know someone. Lately, there's been a ton of stories about exes going nuts after breakups. Kids these days are getting way too extreme!"

Gianna just grinned and drove off without saying more.

To the guard, Gianna was just some rich lady who cared about relationships.

As soon as she left, he hit up his buddies to make sure Felix's car never got in again.

Gianna mulled it over all morning and finally decided to have dinner with Raymond at the Musk Mansion.

After hanging up, Raymond was stoked and called the butler to get the kitchen to whip up Gianna's fave dishes.

"Mr. Musk, check this out." The butler handed the dish list to Isaac after the call.

Isaac snorted and grumbled, "He doesn't even remember what I like to eat this well! Just get it done!"

"Got it!" The butler chuckled. Even though Isaac acted like he didn't care about Gianna, he was secretly pleased. Raymond finally had someone he liked after all these years.

Even though Gianna had been hitched to Felix, as long as Felix didn't mess with the Musk family, Isaac wasn't planning to bring up her divorce.

Isaac was daydreaming about getting them hitched and having a couple of kids in three years when a servant walked in.

The servant said, "Mr. Musk, Mr. Clinton is here."

That evening, Gianna and Raymond strolled into the Musk family Mansion together.

Isaac was chilling on the couch in the living room. Gianna handed over a gift box and smiled, "Mr. Musk, it's our first meeting. I heard you like this, so I had someone bring it from Maple Valley..."

Before she could finish, Isaac cut her off coldly, "Thanks, Miss Redstone, but I can't accept it."

Gianna's smile froze. She shot a look at Raymond.

Raymond hadn't mentioned tonight would be like this. What now? Just bail?

Raymond frowned at Isaac, "Grandpa, you invited Gianna to dinner. Why the cold shoulder now?"

Isaac huffed, "Raymond, remember all the lessons I taught you? It's bad enough you found a divorced woman, but she was married to Felix!"

Isaac's face turned red with anger, "I won't agree to you two being together! If you keep this up, I'll hand the Musk Group to your cousin. You'll be cut off from the family, and you can do whatever you want!"

Gianna pursed her lips and said calmly, "Raymond, Mr. Musk is a bit emotional right now. Seems like I came at a bad time. I'll leave."

With that, Gianna turned and walked out.

Raymond wanted to chase after her but was stopped by Isaac.

"Raymond, stay put!" Isaac demanded.

Raymond turned back and said coldly, "Grandpa, I don't get why you're treating Gianna like this. If you can't accept her, I won't let you see her again!"

Isaac fumed, "Stop right there! Are you trying to kill me?"

The butler shouted, "Mr. Musk, what's wrong?!"

He called out, "Mr. Raymond Musk! Mr. Musk's fainted!"

Raymond stopped dead in his tracks. He turned to see Isaac with his eyes closed. If it weren't for the butler and the servants holding him, he would've hit the floor.

After a moment's hesitation, he turned back, still looking grim.

Soon, the family doc showed up.

After checking Isaac, Henry Hill looked at Raymond and said, "Mr. Musk's okay. He just got too worked up. But he shouldn't get too emotional in the future. He's already weak, and frequent fainting could cause serious damage."

Raymond nodded, "Got it. Thanks, Dr. Hill."

Henryl didn't say much else. He wrote up some meds for Isaac and took off.

Just as Raymond was about to leave, the butler stopped him. "Mr. Raymond Musk, Mr. Musk was actually stoked about you and Miss Redstone coming for dinner. But you shouldn't be tangled up with a married woman. Isaac's just looking out for you!"

Raymond looked puzzled. "What do you mean?"

The butler sighed and said slowly, "Mr. Clinton dropped by this afternoon. He told Mr. Musk that he and Miss Redstone aren't actually divorced yet. They're just having a spat. He wanted Mr. Musk to step in and split you two up."

A wave of anger surged through Raymond. No wonder Isaac's attitude had flipped; Felix was behind it!

"I get it. I'll handle it," Raymond said coldly.

"There are plenty of women in Dawnridge, Raymond. Why Miss Redstone?" the butler sighed.

Raymond didn't say another word and left the house.

He called Gianna, and just when the call was about to drop, she picked up.

Raymond apologized, "Gianna, I'm sorry. I didn't see today coming."

After a few seconds of silence, Gianna's calm voice came through, "It's fine. I don't mind. But do we still need to keep up this fake relationship?"

There were only a few days left until the month was up. She had thought that if she just held on a bit longer, she could repay Raymond's favor. But now, she felt a bit tired.

"Yes," Raymond insisted.

Hearing Raymond's response, Gianna said lightly, "Alright, I understand. Anything else, Mr. Musk?"

"No," Raymond replied.

After hanging up, Raymond initially wanted to drive over and confront Felix, but another idea quickly came to mind.

Felix was so bold now because he and Gianna still had a marriage certificate. If that certificate were gone, he would have no right to interfere with Raymond's pursuit of Gianna.

With that thought, Raymond's eyes turned cold, and he made up his mind.

The next few days passed peacefully, and the month was soon over.

On the last evening, Raymond invited Gianna to dinner.

Gianna thought there were some things that needed to be clarified, so she went.

"Gianna, even though it was fake, I was really happy this month."

"Mr. Musk, I came today to make things clear. I don't like you. I agreed to be your girlfriend for a month to repay your favor. From now on, we owe each other nothing." Gianna interrupted him calmly, her eyes devoid of any emotion.

Raymond felt a pang in his chest, and his voice deepened, "In this month, did you never have feelings for me? We got along so well, and I often saw your genuine smile."

Gianna frowned, "Mr. Musk, I've always seen you as a friend, nothing more."

Raymond gave a bitter smile and said softly, "Alright, I understand. After this meal, can we still be friends?"

Seeing the hope in Raymond's eyes, Gianna pursed her lips and nodded, "Alright."

They ate the rest of the meal in silence. After dropping Gianna off at her villa, Raymond reluctantly said goodbye and drove away.

Watching Gianna's figure fade in the rearview mirror, his eyes gradually turned cold.

Once Raymond's car disappeared from sight, Gianna turned and walked back to the villa. Just as she reached the door, someone stepped out from the shadows.

Seeing it was Felix, a cold glint flashed in her eyes, "Felix, do you have to haunt me like this?"

Before she could finish speaking, he grabbed her wrist.

Gianna looked up and met Felix's angry eyes.

Felix asked, "Why did you have the security guard block my car?"
