Chapter 189: So It Was Him
Seeing Julian, Gianna frowned. "What are you doing here?"
"Gianna, I heard you got hurt in a fire. I came to check on you."
Gianna's expression was cold. "I'm fine."
Julian looked embarrassed. "How about moving back home for a bit? The servants can take care of you."
Felix's icy voice cut in, "Julian, are you saying I can't take care of Gianna?"
Julian froze. "No, Felix, you misunderstood."
Felix glared. "Then what do you mean, Julian?"
"I just want to take care of Gianna..."
Gianna found all this very amusing. When she first returned to the Redstone family, he didn't care. Now that she was with Felix, he suddenly did?
"No need, I'm fine here. If that's all, you should go," she said.
"Gianna, come home for a meal soon. Lauren regrets her attitude. We're still family," Julian insisted.
"We'll see."
That house never felt like home to Gianna, and she didn't want to go back.
Julian smiled awkwardly and left.
After his visit, Gianna lost interest in a walk and went back to the living room to watch TV.
Felix sat beside her. "Don't let irrelevant people affect your mood."
Gianna was stunned, then smiled. "I won't. I'm just a bit tired."
They watched TV for a while, and around nine, Gianna went to bed.
Felix went to the study and called Sophia. "How's Jonah?"
Sophia's voice was grave. "Still in a coma. Doctors don't know when he'll wake up. Explosion fragments hit his head, and there's a blood clot."
Felix's eyes darkened. "Find top experts from abroad. Meet any demands the Getty family has."
"Okay, I understand."
After hanging up, Felix opened a file but couldn't focus. His mind replayed the scene of finding Gianna.
Jonah had held Gianna tightly, his body covered in wounds. Gianna had only minor injuries and smoke inhalation.
Felix's grip on the file tightened, fear washing over him.
He knew Jonah's feelings for Gianna. If she knew he risked his life for her... Felix closed his eyes, refusing to think further.
He and Gianna had come too far. He wouldn't let anyone affect their relationship.
After two days at home, Gianna went to the police station with Faith to give a statement. When they came out, they saw Nathan.
Nathan avoided her gaze and quickly walked into the station.
Faith sneered. "Nathan tried to bribe Ronald's parents to demand compensation from you and terminate his contract with MY FASHION. But now Ronald's parents and Summer have fled, and he's been fired by M. Serves him right!"
Gianna's expression was indifferent. Nathan got what he deserved, but the mastermind behind Ronald's parents was still out there.
That person might still be lurking, ready to strike again.
Back at the company, Gianna held a shareholders' meeting to confirm the date for the next quarter's new product launch, set for next month.
"Time's tight. Let's make sure all departments work together to nail this product launch."
After the meeting, Gianna sent the revised designs to Emily and started catching up on work.
At LR Design Studio, Bella was in a foul mood. She'd spent a lot to get Ronald's parents to mess with Gianna, but it backfired, boosting MY FASHION's sales instead.
Hearing about MY FASHION's new sales high made her even angrier.
Bella hadn't told Ronald's parents to set the fire. If the police found out, would it trace back to her?
Her phone rang. It was Thomas.
Bella frowned and answered, "What is it?"
Thomas's mocking voice came through, "Bella, you tried to hurt Gianna and ended up helping MY FASHION. Shouldn't she thank you?"
Bella gritted her teeth, "Don't forget, we're on the same side. I didn't plan to affect MY FASHION. What I told you before is the real deal."
Thomas chuckled, "I hope you won't disappoint me this time."
"Don't worry, this time MY FASHION won't recover!"
"I'll be watching." Thomas hung up and tossed his phone on the table, his gaze cold.
Bella was useless. If Jonah hadn't ruined his plan, Gianna would be gone by now.
But Jonah was from the Getty family, so he couldn't be hurt.
A sinister look flashed in Thomas's eyes. He dialed a number, "How's the stuff I asked for?"
"Almost done, but are you sure about this?"
"Just give me the stuff. Don't meddle."
The other person chuckled, "Didn't expect you to be so ruthless, even willing to harm your grandmother. You're truly a monster."
Thomas hung up without a word.
His eyes were cold. If Natalie cared, she should've made Felix return the Clinton Group, not just give him Harmony Garden.
Harmony Garden was important to Felix. With it, Thomas could negotiate.
Natalie was just a stepping stone for his revenge.
After Julian pestered her several times, Gianna finally agreed to a meal at the Redstone family home.
Julian's attitude was different, warm and kind. Lauren, too, wasn't confrontational but seemed distracted.
After dinner, Julian called Gianna to the study, "Gianna, the Redstone Group plans to enter the clothing industry but lacks a stable supply chain. I..."
Gianna cut him off, "Sorry, MY FASHION's production is fixed. We can't take on more orders."
Julian's smile froze, "Gianna, we're family. The Redstone Group will be yours and Belle's. Helping us is helping yourself."
Gianna's expression stayed cold, "If I remember right, I don't have any shares in the Redstone Group."
"Of course, when I retire, my shares will be split between you and Belle. I wouldn't give them to outsiders."
Gianna chuckled, "Words are just words. How about writing an agreement and get it notarized?"
