Chapter 379
As soon as Jasmine started talking, the room fell silent. Despite both Jasmine and Laura being renowned actresses with numerous accolades, their personalities couldn't have been more different.
Laura was super sweet and would often treat everyone to dinner if they wrapped up late. Naturally, everyone loved her.
But Jasmine? She was a whole different story. She had a nasty temper and would either yell at or hit her assistant. If the costume designer accidentally tugged her hair, she'd slap them. Nobody on the crew wanted to mess with her.
Despite all the drama Jasmine stirred up, no bad press ever leaked about her. Rumor had it she had some big-shot boss backing her up. Otherwise, with her attitude, she wouldn't have lasted long in the industry.
Constance didn't want to get involved, but Jasmine was hell-bent on causing trouble.
Constance said, "You're accusing me of stealing your necklace. Are you ready to face the legal consequences of that claim?"
Jasmine was caught off guard for a second, then sneered, "If I dare to say it, of course, I'm ready to face the consequences!"
"If I remember right, I was the first one in the dressing room. If that necklace is as important as you say, you'd have it on you, right?"
Jasmine felt a bit uneasy under Constance's cold stare. Something felt off, like Constance was leading her into a trap.
Jasmine frowned and snapped, "I would carry it with me, but you're not part of this crew. Sneaking in here, you're either trying to steal something or mess with our stuff!"
Constance stayed calm and said slowly, "Weren't you just sure I stole something? Now it's either stealing or tampering?"
Jasmine was momentarily speechless and then snapped, "Don't change the subject. Hand over my necklace, or I'll make sure you end up in jail!"
"I'm afraid you don't have that power. The dressing room has surveillance cameras. They should've caught our whole conversation. You came to me first, didn't you?"
Jasmine didn't expect Constance to be so sharp. Her face turned red with anger. "I know all the staff here. No one else but you could've taken my necklace!"
"If you really have that necklace, it should be in your bag right now."
Jasmine's eyes widened, and she instinctively hid her bag behind her. "You're lying!"
"If you have nothing to hide, open your bag and let everyone see if the necklace is inside," Constance said calmly.
Jasmine glared at her. "Why should I listen to you?"
"Weren't you just demanding to search my bag? Now that it's your turn, you don't want to? You seem pretty guilty."
Facing Constance's mocking gaze, Jasmine lost her cool. "Shut up! Who do you think you are? You think you can check my bag? I'm telling you, today, you have to admit to this crime, whether you want to or not! Even if I want to frame you, so what? Do you think I'm afraid of Felix?"
Constance smiled slightly, pulled out her phone, which was live streaming, and pointed the camera at Jasmine's face.
She asked, "You're not afraid of Felix, but are you afraid of your fans seeing your true colors?"
Seeing her twisted, angry face on the phone screen, Jasmine froze. She reached out to grab Constance's phone, but Constance dodged.
Jasmine yelled, "Gianna! Hand over the phone! Or you'll regret it!"
Constance just raised an eyebrow and smirked, "Jasmine, now everyone knows you falsely accused me of stealing your necklace. Think stopping the live stream now will help?"
Jasmine shot daggers at Constance with her eyes, full of anger and hatred. She signaled to her assistant, Alice Patterson, who quickly stepped aside to make a call and whispered a few words.
Moments later, Alice came back and whispered, "Jasmine, it's handled."
Jasmine's lips curled into a smug smile. "Gianna, you think a live stream can hurt me? Check if it's still on."
Constance glanced at her phone and saw her account had been banned. A flicker of surprise crossed her face. No wonder Jasmine was so cocky; she had some serious backing.
Constance calmly put her phone away. "So what? Some people already saw the real you."
Jasmine sneered, "Do you think I care? Besides those who watched, no one else will know."
Jasmine then made a video call to Bella. "Bella, guess who I ran into on set today!"
As Jasmine pointed the camera at Constance, Bella's expression shifted. But since she had met Constance before, she quickly composed herself and asked, "Jasmine, is that Gianna?"
Jasmine grinned and nodded. "Yep, it's her. I can't believe she wasn't dead and has been hiding in Thundertop for three years. Didn't she always bully you? Today, I'll teach her a lesson for you!"
Seeing Jasmine's shameless boasting, Constance couldn't help but laugh. "Jasmine, you saw what happened to those two security guards earlier. Do you want to end up like them?"
Jasmine's smile faltered. The two people with Constance were tough, and she knew she couldn't take them on. But she had an important scene to shoot later. If she got hurt now, the director and investors wouldn't let Constance off the hook.
Thinking of this, she smiled coldly and raised her hand to slap Constance.
But before she could, Constance grabbed her wrist. Jasmine's head snapped to the side, and a bright red handprint appeared on her pale face, looking pretty scary.
"Jasmine!" Alice rushed to support her, almost crying when she saw the red mark. "Are you okay?"
Alice's heart pounded with a mix of worry and fear. Whenever Jasmine got hurt while acting, she'd torment Alice in private. Now that she'd been slapped in public, who knew what she'd do to Alice later.
If it weren't for her family's financial troubles and the high salary Jasmine offered, Alice would've left long ago.
Jasmine touched her swollen face, her previous arrogance gone. She said with red eyes, "Go get the director. I can't shoot the scene today!"
Alice immediately got the hint, let go of her, and walked out.
Jasmine ended the video call and gave Constance a cold smile. "You're done for."
She planned to have the director and sponsors deal with Constance and post about being slapped online. Her fans would naturally rally to her side. After all, she had a ton of fans, and they were great at online attacks!
Soon, the director, Quentin Bailey, and the assistant director showed up.
Seeing Jasmine's swollen face, Quentin gasped and angrily said, "Who did this? Don't they know she has the most important scene to shoot today?"
