Chapter 224
Gianna sneered, "You're not lovesick, you're just nuts. Go get your head checked at a mental hospital."
She shoved Felix away and slammed the door.
Felix didn't get mad. He said, "Gianna, I want to talk."
A few seconds later, Gianna's cold voice came from inside.
She replied, "I have nothing to say to you. Leave."
Hearing nothing outside, Gianna assumed he left and went back to watching TV.
Half an hour later, the doorbell rang again.
This time, Gianna checked the peephole and only opened the door after confirming it was the deliveryman.
Unexpectedly, as soon as she took the delivery, Felix slipped into the living room.
Gianna was stunned, then said coldly, "Felix, you think this is funny?"
Felix looked innocent, and replied, "You wouldn't talk to me, so I had to do this."
The deliveryman looked at Gianna, and asked worriedly, "Need help?"
Sensing the deliveryman's concern, Gianna was about to speak when Felix interrupted.
Felix quickly said, "We're married, just had a fight. Thanks for your concern, you can go."
Gianna gritted her teeth, wanting to throw the delivery at his face.
Gianna said angrily, "Who said we're married? Stop lying!"
Felix remarked slyly, "An ex-husband is still a husband, right?"
Why hadn't Gianna noticed how shameless Felix was before?
The deliveryman, still worried, said slowly, "Should I call the police?"
The deliveryman thought that his customer looked so delicate. If the man wanted to harm her, she definitely couldn't resist.
Gianna took a deep breath and said softly, "Thank you, but it's okay. I can handle it."
Seeing her say this, the deliveryman left.
Gianna's face turned cold. She carried the delivery to the sofa, sat down, and said, "Say what you need to and leave."
Felix sat across from her, looking serious, and explained, "There's nothing between Bella and me. She came to me for business. When you called, I was taking a shower in the hotel upstairs, and Bella was in the restaurant. If you don't believe me, check the restaurant's surveillance."
Gianna looked at him calmly, showing no emotion.
Gianna said indifferently, "Are you done?"
Felix pressed his lips together, clearly in a bad mood.
Gianna didn't believe him!
Disappointed, he said, "You still don't believe me."
Gianna lowered her eyes, and said, "If you're done, leave. I don't want to verify your story, just like you don't know why I wanted to break up."
Felix frowned, and suggested, "Gianna, if you think I did something wrong, tell me instead of making me guess."
Gianna sneered, "I told you before, but you never cared. Since you're done talking, leave."
The living room fell silent, the air seemed to freeze.
After a long time, Felix got up and walked out.
Gianna looked at the cold food, lost her appetite, and threw it in the trash before turning off the lights and went upstairs.
After a few days of rest, Gianna went back to work at MY FASHION.
Faith saw her and was shocked, grabbing her hand, and asked, "Gianna, when did you come back? I've been trying to call you, but your phone was always off. I was so worried. Where have you been?"
Gianna explained, "My phone broke, and I haven't had a chance to get a new one. I'll have Otis get a new SIM card for me later."
Faith informed, "Okay, a lot has happened in Dawnridge. Since Thomas took over the Clinton Group, all our collaborations with them were canceled. We've been busy creating new proposals and finding new clients. It's good you're back."
Gianna frowned and looked at Faith, asking, "Thomas took over the Clinton Group?"
Faith nodded, and continued, "Yeah, Felix was falsely accused of embezzling funds and tax evasion. He was detained for a few days before being released. Didn't you know?"
Gianna paused, then said, "Faith, I'll head to my office. Call a meeting with the shareholders in two hours."
She turned and left, leaving Faith puzzled. Shouldn't Gianna have known about the changes at the Clinton Group?
Back in her office, Gianna quickly searched for news about the Clinton Group. She found articles about Thomas becoming the new president and Felix's scandals.
The more she read, the tighter her frown became. The days Felix was detained matched the days she took Natalie to Willow Creek after Natalie was attacked. No wonder he didn't answer her calls.
Gianna's grip on the mouse tightened, her feelings complicated. He hadn't mentioned any of this to her, but she hadn't given him a chance either.
After a while, she quietly closed the webpage. Whatever happened to him now had nothing to do with her.
Otis was quick, and by the afternoon, he got Gianna a new SIM card and phone.
As soon as she inserted the SIM card and turned on the phone, countless missed calls and unread messages flooded in. Some were from Faith and Laura, but most were from the same person.
She pursed her lips and opened the unread messages. Since her phone broke, there had been dozens of messages every day, asking where she was and to call back.
Gianna read each message carefully, then deleted them one by one, but she couldn't calm down. She put down her phone and exhaled softly.
From Felix's messages, she could tell he was genuinely worried about her, but his entanglement with Bella was also a fact. The despair she felt on the cruise was something she never wanted to experience again.
In the evening, as Gianna was leaving work, Ximena approached her.
Ximena questioned impatiently, "Gianna, where did you take Natalie? Why did you disappear with her, and now you're back safe, but how come there's no news of Natalie?"
Ximena's eyes were filled with anger, looking at Gianna as if she were a murderer. Only with Natalie's 40% shares and Felix's 10% could they remove Thomas from the Clinton Group's presidency, so she wanted Natalie to appear immediately.
Gianna frowned and said coldly, "Natalie is recovering in a safe place and will be back in half a month."
She had already told Felix about this, Gianna wondered, 'Hadn't he informed Ximena?'
"Half a month?" Ximena's voice rose sharply. "I can't wait that long! Tell me where Natalie is right now, or I won't let you off!"
Natalie's injuries were severe. If she didn't recover properly this time, she would be left with chronic issues, and her health would deteriorate.
Thinking of this, Gianna said expressionlessly, "I said half a month, and that's what it is. If you can't wait, that's your problem."
Seeing Gianna trying to leave, Ximena angrily raised her hand to hit her. Gianna's eyes turned cold, but before she could react, Ximena's hand was stopped.
Seeing it was Felix, Ximena became even angrier, "Felix, you're still defending her? Never mind if Natalie is safe or not, by the time half a month passes, Thomas will have transferred all the assets. Even if you get the Clinton Group back, it will be useless!"
Felix's expression was icy, and spoke sternly, "If she says half a month, she has her reasons. I believe her!"
Hearing his resolute tone, Gianna's eyelashes trembled, and her hand at her side tightened involuntarily.
