Chapter 126 There Are Too Many Things I Want to Say
The phone rang a few times before it went to voicemail. Raymond clearly didn’t want to pick up.
Sarah left the hospital, fuming. She had been supporting Raymond financially, and now he was giving her the cold shoulder. How could she put up with that?
She drove straight to the Hughes Group. She ascended in the elevator with an air of superiority, her high heels echoing, as she haughtily made her way to the CEO's office. An employee nearby mentioned Raymond was in a meeting.
Sarah headed to the meeting room door, but Alvin stopped her. "Ms. Martinez, Mr. Howard can't see you right now."
"Alvin, I know you have issues with me, but you better think twice. This is about Mrs. Howard; Do you really want to stop me?" Sarah said firmly.
Hearing this, Alvin stepped aside.
No one knew better than him how important Margaret was to Raymond.
Sarah pushed the door open.
She scanned the room, packed with people.
Daniel, Raymond, and the top execs of the Hughes Group were there. The conversation came to a halt as everyone turned to look at Sarah, who, in her high heels and holding her purse, radiated arrogance.
"Who let you in?" Raymond's eyes turned icy.
Sarah walked up to Raymond and smiled. "Raymond, I've got something really important to tell you. Can you pause the meeting?"
Raymond looked at her for a moment, knowing her well enough to realize she wouldn't be this bold without a good reason.
"Mr. Taylor, how about a ten-minute break, and then we continue?" Raymond looked at Daniel.
Daniel sneered. "You should handle your matters first."
With that, Daniel turned and left the room.
The others followed suit.
The meeting room door closed again.
Raymond lit a cigarette and started smoking.
Sarah said, "Did you know Margaret is pregnant?"
"How do you know?" Raymond's eyelid twitched.
Sarah smiled. "I just saw her at the hospital. She was in line at the abortion clinic. If she wasn't pregnant, why would she be there?"
As soon as she finished speaking, Raymond stubbed out his cigarette in the ashtray.
Sarah took out her phone and showed him a secretly taken photo.
Sure enough, Raymond saw Margaret sitting on a bench outside the abortion clinic, looking miserable.
Last night, she said she wanted to have his child, and today, she went for an abortion. And she planned to do it without telling him?
Raymond's face turned stone cold.
"Raymond, why do you look so upset? Didn't you know? I thought you were the one who told her to get an abortion," Sarah said, covering her mouth and pretending to be shocked.
Raymond grabbed his phone and car keys from the table and stormed out of the meeting room.
"Don't be mad. You need to talk to her properly!" Sarah called after him, feigning concern.
But Raymond didn't look back as he left the room.
Seeing his drastic change in expression and hurried departure, Alvin had no idea what had happened and quickly followed him. "Mr. Howard, the meeting will start in ten minutes."
"Postpone the meeting," Raymond told Alvin. "You don't need to follow me."
"Yes, Mr.Howard." Alvin was confused but didn't dare to question him.
Alvin informed Daniel about the postponed meeting.
Daniel didn't seem surprised and went back to the meeting room to grab his coat.
As soon as Daniel stepped in, he saw Sarah holding a small mirror, twisting her lipstick, and humming a tune while applying it.
"You're in a good mood?" Daniel walked over with one hand in his pocket.
Sarah smacked her red lips and capped her lipstick. "I didn't expect a small-time cop like you to become the president of the Taylor Group."
"I really don't get you guys. Margaret is just a fallen lady. Why are you all fighting over her? Are all the women in the world dead, or are you all blind?" Sarah said sarcastically, watching Daniel as he walked over with a cup of coffee and sneered. "But even if you protect Margaret, it won't help. She's Raymond's wife. You can only look!"
Daniel didn't get angry. He just slightly lifted the arm holding the coffee cup.
The scalding coffee spilled over Sarah's head. The coffee dripped down her hair, smearing her freshly applied makeup and making her look utterly disheveled.
"You dare spill coffee on me? Daniel, do you know who I am? I'm the future Mrs. Hughes!" Sarah screamed in anger, raising her hand to slap him.
Daniel swiftly grabbed her wrist.
Maybe because Daniel had been a cop, his grip was incredibly strong. With a crack, Sarah's wrist was dislocated!
"It hurts!" Sarah screamed and struggled, but she couldn't break free.
Daniel sneered. "Even if you were, I wouldn't care! Mrs. Hughes is kind-hearted, yet you slander her. That just shows how dark your heart is! If you dare to defame Mrs. Hughes again, it won't merely be a single hand you dislocate!"
With that, Daniel released her wrist, causing her to lose balance and fall to the ground, her high heel twisting.
"Daniel, you're messed up! I'm going to tell Raymond, and he won't let you off!" Sarah cried, gritting her teeth.
Daniel snorted. "I'll be waiting for him to come after me!"
Just as he reached the door,Sarah questioned, "Daniel, do you have feelings for Margaret? No wonder she was clamoring for a divorce from Raymond recently! There's something going on between you two!"
Daniel's back stiffened slightly, but he still walked away without stopping.
Meanwhile, Raymond was driving frantically towards the hospital. He was also calling Margaret.
At that moment, the nurse called Margaret's name.
She had just walked into the abortion clinic when her phone suddenly rang.
Seeing Raymond's name on the screen, her heart raced, maybe out of guilt. Why would he call her now? Margaret swallowed nervously.
The phone in her palm kept ringing. She didn't know whether to answer it or not.
