Chapter 319 Deep Kiss at the Bottom of the Lake

Margaret had just fallen when Raymond plunged into the lake.

The blood on his palm had just clotted when the icy lake water rushed into his wound.

The pain was excruciating and indescribable.

Raymond frowned, and swam towards Margaret.

Margaret's eyes were closed, her long hair slowly spreading out in the deep lake water.

Her arms hung down, as if waiting for death to come.

Margaret hadn't reacted yet when a large, slightly rough hand suddenly grabbed her arm.

Margaret was pulled over, and her whole body pressed against a hard chest.

Just as she was about to speak, large gulps of lake water poured into her mouth, filling her stomach with an unbearably heavy weight, causing her to choke and cough violently.

Her eyelids grew heavier and heavier, leaving her feeling utterly exhausted and her vision blurred, seeing double and unable to see clearly.

The man pulling her alternated between Raymond's face and a younger Marlon.

She blinked, trying to see more clearly.

Had Marlon come to take her to heaven? Margaret's consciousness grew increasingly fuzzy, her breathing rapid.

It became harder and harder to breathe.

Margaret's cheeks turned paler and paler.

Raymond looked at the dazed Margaret in his arms.

He knew she was oxygen-deprived.

His large hand hooked around Margaret's slender waist, pressing her tightly, firmly against his body.

His other injured hand, swollen from the lake water, touched Margaret's cheek.

He leaned down and kissed her bloodless lips.

This time Margaret was very obedient.

If it had been before today, she would have used the harshest words to provoke him, even slapped him, and looked at him with the most disdainful eyes.

But now, Margaret was on the brink of death, so she was so compliant, letting him do as he pleased, letting him kiss her.

Raymond suddenly realized they hadn't kissed like this in a long time.

The couple who once vowed eternal love had come to this!

Raymond thought of his sacrifices and the many men in her heart—there was the mute boy, and Daniel, but never her husband Raymond!

He felt unwilling, desperate, angry, mixed with heartache and helplessness.

Raymond's kiss grew more forceful, and his eyes reddened.

Raymond's nose suddenly stung, and tears flowed from his eyes.

No one was around, they were in the lake, and no one would know he was crying.

He could let down his guard a bit, and release his truest emotions.

He kissed her while moving Margaret towards the shore.

He had arranged for a lifeboat to wait here; as long as they reached the shore, they would be saved.

Margaret was heavy, he couldn't move her.

He stripped off her down jacket, and then threw it away.

Without the heavy burden of the down jacket, Raymond easily brought Margaret to the surface.

Margaret breathed in fresh air, her consciousness gradually returning.

She slowly opened her eyes, thinking she was in Marlon's arms, being taken to heaven.

But when she looked down, it was Raymond holding her!

Anger and disgust uncontrollably surged in Margaret's heart.

Raymond was still looking for the lifeboat and Alvin.

His phone was long gone, so there was no way to contact anyone.

Before he could react, Margaret slapped him.

The side of Raymond's face that was hit burned painfully.

He even felt dizzy, with a brief ringing in his ears.

Raymond frowned, turning to look at Margaret.

She woke up, and the first thing she did was slap him.

"Raymond, you're so hypocritical!" Margaret glared at him with disgust, then reached out to break free from his embrace.

Raymond held her tightly, not letting go.

Was he hypocritical? If he hadn't come to save her, she would be dead by now!

The more she struggled, the worse Raymond's expression became. He gritted his teeth and warned, "Margaret, I'll say it again, now is not the time for your tantrums! If I let go, can you swim? Do you want to die?"

"Raymond, I don't want to live anymore."

"So, I was meddling by coming to save you?" Raymond was speechless with anger, thinking Margaret was simply ungrateful.

Margaret kept struggling, and when she couldn't break free, she bit down on Raymond's hand.

She bit hard. Raymond's hand had already been slashed by Evelyn, and the hand she bit was the injured one.

She couldn't not know his hand was injured.

Raymond frowned, the veins on his hand bulging.

Margaret cried out of anger, her mouth filled with the taste of blood. She had bitten his hand to the point of bleeding, yet he still wouldn't let go!

Had he not tormented her enough? What did he want?

Margaret already had severe depression.

Her tears fell uncontrollably. She looked up and screamed hysterically at Raymond, "What do you want from me to let me go? Raymond, I've lost everything! I listened to you, I don't want to live anymore! Do you hate me that much? Everything I have today is because of you, all because of you! When I see you, I think of my dad falling from the balcony! I think of my mom lying on the road, never waking up! Raymond, I can't forgive you! I can't forgive myself! I can't fight you, I give up!"

"Raymond, I curse you! Let me go!"

Margaret's slaps landed wildly on Raymond's face, body, and chest.

Raymond never expected that risking his life to save her would result in such a curse.

Margaret seemed to go mad, cursing him desperately, trying to provoke him into letting her go.

Raymond felt extremely agitated, and finally, he struck her neck with his hand.

Margaret closed her eyes, falling softly, obediently into Raymond's arms.

He saw tears at the corners of her eyes.

"Mr. Howard! We're here!" A frantic voice suddenly called out.

Raymond was still in the lake, holding Margaret, her head above water to let her breathe fresh air.

Hearing the voice, Raymond turned his head to see several lifeboats speeding towards him.

Alvin and several professional rescuers, wearing life jackets, stood on the lifeboats.

"Save Margaret first," Raymond said in a deep voice as the lifeboats reached him.
