Chapter 540 Her Parents Saw Your Photos and Information, and They Approve of You
Her friend was a client manager at the hotel. Lyric had asked her to delete the surveillance footage from that night. Her friend laughed and said, "No problem. You gave me that handbag, so of course, I'll help you out. Don't worry, Daniel won't find out anything about tonight."
After hanging up the phone and taking a shower, Lyric hurriedly picked up her clothes from the floor, threw them on haphazardly, grabbed her purse, and tiptoed out.
The next morning, at dawn.
Daniel opened his amber eyes and turned to see that the bed beside him was empty. Last night, he had a dream about pinning Margaret beneath him...
When he saw the bloodstain on the sheets, his brows furrowed deeply. Last night wasn't a dream.
Who was that woman last night?
He had gotten drunk and ended up having sex with someone in a daze.
Feeling a mix of guilt, regret, and frustration, he smacked his head with his palm. He had drunk too much last night, leaving his mind foggy.
Drinking really did cause trouble.
Daniel put on his robe, barefoot, and stepped onto the soft gray carpet. He left the bedroom, went to the kitchen, opened the fridge, took out a bottle of water, unscrewed the cap, and took a sip.
Then he pulled out his phone and called his assistant. "Find out who the woman was that entered my room last night. I want all her information."
"Wasn't yesterday the weekend?" The assistant sounded shocked. "Mr. Taylor, did something happen?"
Daniel replied coldly, "I'll send you the hotel information."
"And once I find her?"
Daniel's mind flashed back to the intense sex from the night before.
He had ruined someone; he had to take responsibility and give her a wedding, a home.
"Once you find her, bring her to me. I'll handle it personally."
After the call, Daniel took a shower, got dressed, and drove back to his house.
The roses at home were in full bloom, their fragrance filling the air.
The butler was trimming the potted plants and looked surprised to see Daniel in yesterday's suit. "Mr. Taylor, you didn't come home last night?"
He knew Daniel had attended Margaret's wedding yesterday.
"I was handling some work at the office last night. It got too late, so I didn't come back," Daniel said gently, not wanting to worry him. This butler was the only person in The Taylor Family who treated him well.
The butler assumed Daniel was upset about Margaret getting married and comforted him, "Mr. Taylor, maybe you and Ms. Hughes just weren't meant to be. Don't be too sad."
"It's in the past."
Daniel turned and went upstairs.
On the second floor, he heard the parrot squawking in its cage.
He walked over to the parrot and realized there was no water or food in the cage. He refilled its food and water. The parrot jumped around excitedly, "Daniel loves Margaret!"
He was momentarily stunned. This parrot was too smart; it could even see that.
"Don't talk nonsense. Eat your food." He petted the parrot's feathers, then went to the walk-in closet, changed out of yesterday's clothes, and tossed them into the laundry basket for the maid to clean later.
Most of the clothes in his closet were business attire, simple yet sophisticated.
He put on a crisp white shirt, buttoned it up, then donned a black suit jacket. From a row of expensive watches, he picked one, strapped it on, and fastened the buckle.
He quickly went downstairs.
The butler told him, "Mr. Cade Taylor came by yesterday looking for you. He waited for a while, but you didn't come back. He called you, but your phone was off. He left quite angry. Mr. Daniel Taylor, be careful not to upset him."
"Thanks." Daniel smiled slightly.
He then chose the most understated car from the garage and drove out of The Taylor Villa.
A few minutes later.
The car arrived at The Taylor Group.
After parking, he walked towards the entrance of The Taylor Group, tall and imposing.
His phone suddenly rang.
It was Cade.
He didn't stop walking, answering the call as he went inside.
"Where were you yesterday? I called you, but you didn't answer. I waited half the night, and you never came back." Cade's voice was full of anger.
Daniel held the phone, used to this by now. If Cade's children hadn't all died, he wouldn't have brought Daniel back.
Even though Daniel was back, Cade never looked at him with respect. He always dismissed Daniel's achievements.
According to Cade, Daniel's greatest asset was his longevity, which was why he inherited such a large estate.
Daniel wasn't angry. He calmly reminded him, "Mr. Taylor, if there's nothing important, I'll hang up now."
"How dare you talk to me like that? You're not the head of The Taylor Family yet. Get that straight! Don't think you're so capable and impressive. Without me, you're nothing."
"Mr. Taylor, if you really can't stand me, you can look for other children outside to replace me. Or, since you love fooling around with women so much, you could have another child now; it's not too late." Daniel smirked.
He had no emotional connection with this biological father. Cade had gotten drunk and forced himself on a maid at The Taylor Family. No matter how much his mother resisted, it was useless, and it even brought Cade's wife's wrath.
Cade's wife was furious, and Cade blamed everything on Daniel's mother, insisting she had seduced him.
As a result, his mother was kicked out of The Taylor Villa.
Later, his mother found out she was pregnant. Coming from a rural area, being unmarried and pregnant was a huge scandal. Her family disowned her.
Despite all the hardships, his mother was a warm and wise woman. She didn't abort him and treated him very well. Before she died, she urged him to return to The Taylor Family if he had the chance. His abilities needed a bigger platform.
Cade's misdeeds brought retribution upon his wife and children. A car accident took them all, leaving him truly alone.
He was forced to bring Daniel back and train him.
Daniel didn't care about The Taylor Family's money; he found it too dirty. But to become Margaret's support, he compromised.
He became the CEO of The Taylor Group.
Cade was infuriated by Daniel's cold words.
Afraid Daniel would hang up, he quickly stated his purpose, "I've found you a girlfriend. Make time to meet her. Her parents saw your photo and information and are very impressed. Make me proud and put some effort into it."
