Chapter 484 Retribution

Sarah wasn't ready to give up yet. Clinging to a sliver of hope, she painfully crawled back to Raymond's feet, reaching out to grab the hem of his trousers. "Raymond, do you remember what you said to me tonight? You said that no matter who I am or what I've done, you would marry me, love me, and never betray me."

If it weren't for Raymond's sweet words, how would she have dared to risk killing Hubert?

Her blood-stained hand barely lifted before a polished black leather shoe stomped down hard on her hand.

Sarah's lips trembled in pain, but his gaze remained cold and indifferent as the pressure of his foot on her hand steadily increased.

"If you hadn't been so eager to kill Hubert, I might have kept you around a bit longer," Raymond sneered, pausing. "But now that Hubert is dead, you have no value left."

Sarah's eyes widened, her once delicate makeup now twisted and distorted by pain. She stared at him in disbelief. "You used me? Raymond, how dare you use me!"

"Same goes for you. Didn't you use me to deal with Margaret after your plastic surgery?" Raymond said, kicking Sarah in the chest.

She fell to the cold, blood-stained floor.

Her exposed skin was instantly scraped raw.

She didn't have time to cry out in pain. Anger and resentment filled her heart as she struggled to get up and charge at Raymond. "You dared to use my feelings! Raymond! You're the only person I've ever trusted like this, and you were deceiving me! Fine, if you want to make my life miserable, then let's all go to hell together."

She bent down to pick up a golf club from the floor.

The club hit the ground.

She was immediately restrained by the bodyguards, who kicked her in the back of the knees, forcing her to kneel.

"Behave yourself," one of the bodyguards slapped her face.

Maybe she wasn't well-liked, because the slap was so forceful that her cheek instantly swelled.

Raymond squinted, took out a pack of cigarettes, and put one between his lips without any expression.

The lighter clicked, and the white cigarette was instantly lit. He smoked, watching coldly.

Alvin pulled a white bottle from his suit pocket and walked step by step towards Sarah.

Sarah wanted to run, but her body was pinned to the ground. She nervously swallowed and glared at Alvin. "What are you doing? I warn you, don't mess around."

"Ms. Martinez, our Mr. Howard is kind-hearted and values reciprocity. This bottle of medicine is the vitamin pills you gave to Mr. Howard. You remember, don't you?" Alvin said, opening the bottle.

Knowing his intention, Sarah shook her head frantically, her face full of fear. It wasn't vitamin pills; it was the poison Hubert had given Raymond!

She had thrown it in the trash, so how did Alvin get it?

"Open her mouth," Alvin ordered sinisterly.

Sarah's shoulders were pinned down by the bodyguards, leaving her unable to resist.

Another bodyguard approached, squatting down and gripping her jaw. Sarah refused to open her mouth.

He squeezed harder.

Sarah gasped in pain, tears streaming down her face, wanting to call out to Raymond for help.

Her lips were forced open.

The bodyguard took the opened bottle from Alvin.

The entire bottle of pills was poured into Sarah's mouth.

The bitter taste made Sarah nauseous, wanting to vomit.

But she had no choice.

Only after she was forced to swallow all the pills did the bodyguards release her.

Sarah collapsed weakly to the ground. It was over; she had ingested so much poison. She was doomed.

She never expected that the poison Hubert had concocted would be used on her.

Lying on the ground, Sarah trembled with fear of the unknown.

Several bodyguards approached, punching and kicking her without any mercy.

Sarah felt her body being kicked repeatedly, like a punching bag, the pain driving her to tears.

She wailed in agony.

They only targeted one area: her abdomen.

Sarah suddenly remembered when Raymond and Margaret came to Silverwood for a vacation.

She had lured Margaret to a desolate place with an anonymous text and kicked Margaret's stomach, causing her to miscarry.

Was this the consequence of her many misdeeds?

"Sarah, you'll soon realize that the dumbest thing you ever did was to mess with me. If I die, do you think Raymond will spare you?"

Hubert's words echoed in her ears.

Strangely, why was she thinking of Hubert now?

Her thigh felt sticky.

It seemed like some liquid was flowing out.

Sarah endured the punches and kicks, looking down to see crimson liquid running down her long legs.

She felt something slipping away inside her abdomen.

Suddenly, she remembered that Hubert hadn't used protection during their sexual encounters.

And her period was late.

Could it be that she was pregnant with Hubert's child?

Sarah laughed hysterically, tears streaming down her face.

She understood now; she must be pregnant, and now she was showing signs of miscarriage.

But she didn't cry out in pain or beg Raymond to take her to the hospital to save the baby.

Hubert's child shouldn't exist in this world.

Losing it this way even eased her guilt.

Hubert and his child dying together, at least they had each other.

Alvin noticed something was wrong and ordered the bodyguards to stop. They ceased their assault and stepped back.

The blood kept flowing, thicker and thicker.

Alvin squinted, asking Sarah, who lay in the pool of blood, "Are you pregnant?"

"Yeah, I am. But I should thank you for helping me get rid of this child," Sarah coldly laughed.

Alvin frowned. "It's still your child, and you can say such things."

"Not all parents love their children," Sarah turned her gaze from Alvin to Raymond, who was sitting and smoking.

Through the smoke, she could still see his handsome face. "It's a pity. If you hadn't discovered this, I might have passed the child off as yours. But it seems his luck ran out. Dying is better; maybe he'll be born into a wealthy family next time. I'm doing a good deed. If I had given birth to him, he wouldn't have been happy. And seeing him would remind me of his father. How could I possibly treat him well?"

Raymond stood up from his chair, crushed the cigarette, and walked towards her.

"Raymond, I will only be kind to you and our child. No one else deserves my compassion or kindness."
