Chapter 595 Lyric, Reintroduce Myself, I am Daniel

Regal City

Lyric was taking today's blind date seriously.

Even though she wasn't particularly excited, she always tried her best to fulfill her parents' wishes.

In her walk-in closet, the latest seasonal clothes from various top brands were already laid out. The weather in Regal City was like spring all year round.

It was never too hot or too cold, a stark contrast to the weather in Silverbrook.

Matching accessories, jewelry, and shoes were all neatly arranged in the closet, fully stocked.

A makeup artist, invited by Remy, had arrived early to help her get ready.

Anyone who didn't know better might think she was getting married today.

Like a doll, Lyric was meticulously dressed and made up by a group of people, who finally settled on an outfit they were satisfied with, complete with shoes and jewelry.

Then she went downstairs to have breakfast with her family and played a round of golf with Zephyr.

Their family kept a white peacock, and perhaps because of her elegant attire today, the usually aloof peacock spread its feathers for her on the lawn.

The white feathers fanned out like a delicate little fan, glistening in the sunlight, looking absolutely stunning.

The ragdoll cat blinked its noble blue eyes, snuggling in her arms, becoming unusually clingy.

Lyric held the cat as she got into the car.

The driver took her to the hotel where she was supposed to meet the man for the blind date.

They had agreed to meet on the third floor.

When Lyric arrived, the upscale restaurant was empty except for the waitstaff walking around.

Clearly, she was early.

Lyric was a bit displeased with the man. How could he be so lacking in punctuality? Couldn't he arrive a bit earlier?

Fortunately, she had the cat to keep her company, so she could play with it for a while.

Meanwhile, Daniel was still in his hotel room.

Cade called him, reminding him once again, "Have you met the lady yet?"

"Not yet," Daniel replied lazily.

"It's almost eleven, and you haven't gone yet? What are you waiting for? Didn't you promise me you'd take this blind date seriously? Don't you want to know about Della?" Cade was instantly angry.

Daniel rubbed his head. "You promised me that if I went, you'd let me meet Della. If she doesn't like me, there's nothing I can do about it."

"From what I know, the lady is very easy to get along with. Get yourself together, dress up, and go meet her."

Cade hung up the phone.

Daniel threw on the outfit he'd packed from Silverbrook: a crisp white shirt, a pair of ripped jeans, and a long military green coat. He didn't bother much with his hair, just gave it a quick blow-dry and left it at that.

His bangs fell over his forehead, making him look younger.

He wasn't really invested in this blind date, nor did he care much.

Otherwise, he would have bought new clothes for the occasion.

Daniel deliberately dawdled, planning to arrive just in time for lunch.

He thought, 'Someone as wealthy as her would definitely care about such details. If she doesn't like me, it won't be my fault.'

Around twelve-thirty, he finally left his hotel room.

With long strides, he entered the elevator and pressed the button for the third floor.

The elevator doors slowly closed.

Lyric was getting a bit impatient waiting in the restaurant.

If it weren't for the fact that this man had done Remy a favor, she would have left already.

She thought, 'If this is some kind of playing-hard-to-get tactic, it's a miscalculation.'

Feeling a bit hungry, she had been asked several times by the waiter when she wanted to start the meal.

Lyric checked her watch; it was almost one o'clock.

The man probably wasn't coming.

"Serve the food now," Lyric smiled at the waiter.

The ragdoll cat in her arms rubbed its furry little head against her, meowing adorably, almost melting her heart.

The waiter turned and left the private room.

Half a minute later, the door opened again.

The sound of leather shoes on the floor was clear and distinct.

Lyric, still playing with the cat in her arms, thought it was the waiter returning and repeated, "No need to wait, serve the food now."

The sound of a chair being pulled out.

She realized something was off and looked up.

Sitting across the round table was none other than Daniel!

She quickly understood that the man she was supposed to meet was him. The hero who saved Remy from the drug bust was actually Daniel.

A mocking smile curled on her lips.

Daniel's pupils contracted the moment he saw Lyric.

The girl in front of him was wearing a little black dress, revealing her creamy, smooth arms. Her collarbone was incredibly sexy.

She wore expensive jewelry around her neck, showcasing her status and identity.

But her long hair was now cut short, just reaching her collarbone, tucked behind her ears, giving her a more spirited and commanding presence.

She wore the finest ruby earrings.

Daniel recognized those earrings; they were one-of-a-kind, designed by a famous designer.

And now they were on Della.

Even if he were a fool, he would have realized by now.

The woman he was supposed to meet was Della!

No wonder he had been searching for her for so long without success.

It turned out she was Zephyr's daughter.

He really should have come to meet her sooner.

Della no longer had any trace of poverty about her; she exuded the cold elegance and unattainability of a daughter from a prestigious family.

Even the cat in her arms was worth a fortune.

Lyric's eyes held a faint smile as she saw his shock and surprise.

But that smile was more mocking than anything else.

"Della." he stood up and walked towards her, murmuring.

She also stood up, reminding him, "Mr. Taylor, my name is Lyric."

It didn't matter what she was called, as long as it was her.

His heart was a mix of excitement, bitterness, and relief.

He extended his hand, with a polite and restrained gesture, "Ms. Vaughn, nice to meet you. I'm Daniel, the man here for the blind date."

But Lyric's gaze was cold and indifferent, with a hint of disdain.

She glanced at him, then at his hand, chuckled a few times, and sat back down. "Mr. Taylor, do you think with your current status and background, you're worthy of shaking my hand? Worthy of this blind date?"

Her words were a blatant slap in Daniel's face.

His hand fell back, dejected, to his sides.

The smile on his face completely disappeared.

He pulled out a chair and sat back down.

The waiter opened the door, bringing in the prepared dishes one by one.

The large round table was laden with a spread of dishes—grilled, roasted, fried, and more—everything imaginable. It was clear how much the Vaughn Family valued this blind date.

As Daniel tried to eat, Lyric deliberately spun the table. The dishes were taken away before he could get any.
