Chapter 195 Pregnant Again

Actually, Hubert had drugged Margaret, hoping she'd kick the bucket so Sarah could snag the title of Mrs. Howard. He would never spill this to Raymond.

"Mr. Howard, Mrs. Hughes is pregnant again. We just found out; she's only two weeks along. Please, don't be too upset." Hubert wasn't making this up. Margaret's body was in no shape for another pregnancy, especially after a recent miscarriage, and now she was knocked up again.

Sarah was getting impatient, so Hubert had to find a way to act, just like he did with Ashley, hurting Margaret without anyone catching on.

Raymond's face went pale. He thought, 'She just had a miscarriage, and now she's pregnant again? She can't die!'

Raymond rushed into the operating room and headed straight for the table. Margaret was lying there, eyes shut, face still pale. With trembling hands, he touched the back of her hand. The warmth was fading.

"Margaret! Margaret, open your eyes! Margaret, do you hear me? You can't die!" Raymond grabbed her shoulders, his eyes bloodshot, and yelled.

Hubert had never seen Raymond this unhinged. It was clear Raymond really cared about Margaret. That meant Margaret had to go even more. He wouldn't let anyone mess with Sarah.

"Mr. Howard, we've tried to bring her back multiple times. We've done everything we could. Please, don't be too upset." Hubert looked at Raymond with fake sorrow.

Raymond's veins popped as he turned and glared at him. "Shut up! She won't die! Anyone can die, but not her!"

Hubert pressed his lips together and said, "Mr. Howard."

"Get out! Get out!" Raymond shouted.

Hubert lowered his head, turned around, and left the operating room with the medical staff.

In the stairwell, Hubert pulled out his phone and called Sarah, "Sarah, I have bad news and good news. The bad news is, Margaret is pregnant again."

"She's pregnant again? That's quite a surprise!" Sarah said jealously on the other end.

Hubert calmly adjusted his glasses and lowered his voice. "The good news is, Margaret and her unborn child died on the operating table. Are you happy? The title of Mrs. Howard will soon be yours!"

"Really?" Sarah exclaimed.

Hubert grinned wickedly. "When have I ever let you down?"

"Then I'll head to the hospital now to see Raymond and comfort him."

Hubert said, "Don't come now, or you'll make Raymond suspicious. Anyway, she'll probably be sent to the crematorium in half an hour."

Sarah was thrilled and said with a sweet smile, "Hubert, you're so good to me."

"So, how do you plan to thank me tonight?"

"However you want me to thank you, I will." Sarah was in a fantastic mood. Margaret was finally dead. She had waited so long for this moment.

She planned to hang up the phone, hit the beauty salon to pamper herself, and then have a good time with Hubert tonight.

Since he did things for her, she'd give him some perks. Once she became Mrs. Howard, she'd deal with Hubert because he knew too many of her secrets. For enemies, her style was to eliminate them without leaving any loose ends.

In the operating room, it was just Raymond, Margaret, and Alvin. Raymond shook Margaret on the table, feeling her body get colder and colder. He was losing it.

No matter how much he threatened or provoked her, it was useless. Her eyes seemed glued shut, refusing to open. He had never felt so helpless before.

Raymond's eyes were bloodshot, tears streaming down his face. Margaret was truly heartless! She was pregnant with his child and still chose to leave him. She didn't even care about the Hughes Family or Marlon's life. Her parents had raised her for nothing!

Raymond remembered the many times Margaret had asked him, looking at him with sad eyes, "Raymond, if one day you find that you've lost me forever, would you be sad? Would you cry?"

"No. I would set off fireworks for days and nights at your funeral to celebrate your death." That was how he had answered her back then. But now, how could he not be sad, heartbroken, and crying?

Raymond's nose stung, overwhelmed by immense sorrow. He shook her shoulders desperately, tears falling onto her face. "Get up! Margaret! I order you to get up right now! What are you pretending for? Are you addicted to acting?"

"I know you're not dead. I know you're faking it. You want to leave me! You want to run away with Daniel!"

"I won't let you have your way! I won't let you two be together!"

"Get up! Wake up!"

"Margaret, do you hear me? I'm angry, really angry! You should know the consequences of my anger are severe!"

"Do you want Marlon to die? Do you want Nancy to end up in a mental hospital?" Raymond said all the harsh words he could think of.

In the past, she would be scared and obedient before he even got this far. But this time, the more he spoke, the less confident he felt, the more heartbroken and scared he became. Why wasn't she reacting at all?

Helpless and desperate tears streamed from Raymond's narrow eyes. "Get up! Get up! Margaret, I told you to get up, can't you hear me? Are you deaf? Huh?" Raymond knelt on one knee, holding her body, crying and shouting. But she remained motionless.

What should he do? Who could tell him what to do to make her open her eyes and wake up? It turned out Margaret had long wanted to die, to leave him at all costs through death. His glasses were fogged up with a layer of heat.

Raymond's pushing grew more forceful. He couldn't believe she would die without any attachments.

"Margaret, I'll count to three. You better wake up, do you hear me?" Raymond cried viciously, counting. He counted from one to three. He kept giving her chances.

Raymond thought to himself, 'Margaret, as long as you wake up, I'll forgive everything. Marlon would resume treatment, and I wouldn't blame you. I wouldn't be angry about your miscarriage.'

But Margaret insisted on opposing him, as if she couldn't hear anything, as if she didn't care about anything. Raymond felt like a clown. What was the use of saying so many harsh words? She didn't care anymore, and he couldn't do anything about it.

Alvin also cried and couldn't help but try to comfort him, saying, "Mr. Howard."
