Chapter 176 Margaret Saw Them Hugging Very Tightly
Margaret cried her eyes out until she was completely drained, then grabbed her phone to check the time. Ten minutes had already gone by. He still hadn't come out.
Margaret got up from the bench and walked over to the hospital room door. Through the glass window, she saw Sarah clinging to Raymond. Margaret, worried about getting the wrong idea, watched them for a few more seconds.
But Sarah noticed her. Whether on purpose or not, her face was streaked with tears as she cried her heart out, saying something Margaret couldn't hear. And Raymond, with a complicated look on his face, didn't push her away!
Margaret gave a bitter smile. Suddenly, everything made sense. No wonder he hadn't come out; he was busy hugging Sarah. So, did he need to finish hugging her before he could come out? She felt so foolish. He told her to wait, so she did.
Margaret thought to herself, 'Margaret, where's your self-respect, your dignity? He hurt you so much, and you still believe his words?'
Overwhelmed with anger and sadness, Margaret rushed away from the hospital corridor, quickly took the elevator, and left.
In the ward.
Raymond pried Sarah's fingers off his waist and tucked her back in, looking a bit annoyed. "Sarah, I'm married now. What you did just now was inappropriate. Don't do it again."
"I almost fell just now, that's why I held onto you. Don't you believe me?" Sarah said, about to cry again.
Raymond hated it when she cried. When she cried, he got really annoyed and wanted her to stop. But now Margaret had done something wrong, so he couldn't do that. He said coldly, "I believe you. Margaret apologized to you. Can you let it go now?"
"I've forgiven her. Don't worry." Sarah wiped away her tears, looking sad yet beautiful. She said, "Raymond, I really envy her. Despite her deep hatred for you, you still protect her so well. Sometimes I have to admit, people's fates are truly different. I've done so much for you, but I still can't measure up to her."
Raymond felt a bit guilty and was about to speak. Sarah smiled and interrupted, "No need to say more, Raymond. You know, I'm not an inconsiderate person. I promised you something, and I'll do it. From now on, I won't hold it against her for ruining my face. Raymond, remember, I'm letting her go because of you."
She added, ''Go find her. She was reluctant to apologize to me. She's a high and mighty noble lady; how could she apologize to me? Go comfort her. I'm very satisfied that you brought her to apologize to me today. Of course, you suggested being friends, and I accept that now. Even though I like you a lot, your heart is with Margaret, and you don't deserve me."
Seeing Sarah being so understanding, Raymond's guilt deepened as he said, "Sarah, if you ever need my help in the future, I'll be there for you. Consider Margaret and me as your family."
"Alright, then I wish you both a good life." Sarah deliberately put on a look of holding back her sadness, tears on the verge of falling as she said, "Go quickly, Raymond. If you stay any longer, I'm afraid I'll regret it and won't be able to let go of not being your wife. It took a lot of determination for me to make this decision."
Seeing her say this, Raymond didn't stick around any longer. He had seen how upset Margaret was when she apologized earlier. He needed to find her. Raymond left quickly, not sparing another glance at Sarah.
Sarah watched his figure grow smaller and smaller until it vanished. Sarah thought to herself, 'Raymond, how could I be content with just being your friend? I claimed Margaret's support as my own to gain control of you and your family's assets.''
Sarah's efforts towards Raymond were not just for the promise of great returns; most importantly, they were driven by a desire to retaliate against Margaret and see her fall into ruin.
So she helped Raymond with his revenge, largely out of jealousy of Margaret, wanting to see her suffer.
Now that Raymond had genuine feelings for Margaret, it was the last thing she wanted to see! She believed that, in the future, everything about Raymond and the Hughes Family would belong to her.
Suddenly, the hospital room door closed, and the sound of leather shoes scraping the floor was heard. Before Sarah could look up, a large hand cupped her chin. "He's gone, and you still haven't had enough?"
Sarah looked up to see Hubert, pouting as he leaned in close. A wave of disgust made Sarah want to dodge. But he held her head in place with his large hand, forcing her into a kiss.
Sarah irritably pushed him away and said impatiently, "This is a hospital. Raymond just left. Are you crazy?"
Hubert replied, "If you're in a bad mood, just make love with me, and you'll feel better."
"Get away from me."
"I have a little secret about Margaret. Don't you want to know?" Hubert whispered in her ear, "Margaret not only has late-stage liver cancer but also severe depression. Depression will only make her die faster. You're a fake depression patient; why bother with someone who's about to die?"
"Really?"
"Absolutely. But Raymond doesn't know. Baby, I've missed you." Hubert's large hand slid under her striped hospital gown, eagerly groping her.
Thinking about how much she had given and how Raymond treated and despised her, Sarah felt unbalanced and thought to herself, 'Raymond, do you think no one wants me? Every time you make me angry, I cheat on you. In the end, you'll still be manipulated into marrying me.'
Thinking about her revenge, Sarah felt extremely pleased and willingly kissed Hubert, making love with him.
Downstairs at the hospital.
There was a bus stop. Today was very cold, and it had started snowing heavily. Margaret had been waiting in the cold wind for a taxi for a long time. Strangely, there were usually many taxis, but today there wasn't a single one. No buses either.
Although Margaret was wearing snow boots lined with fur and thick socks, standing for a long time still made her feet numb and lose feeling. Her nose was red and sore from the cold. Her fingers were numb, and she was exhaling warm breath in large puffs.
A black Bentley sped towards her and stopped in front of her. She didn't notice until she heard a sharp, piercing horn. She then looked up in a daze. It was Raymond's car.
