Chapter 242 Do You Think I'm as Magnanimous as You?

Raymond thought he had misheard, so he leaned his ear closer to her lips.

He heard her clearly enunciate, urgently whispering, "Little mute... run... run."

Raymond couldn't hold back his anger and jealousy that had been building up all night.

She really was quite the philanthropist. Not only did she have Daniel in her heart, but also a little mute?

A mute, who she couldn't forget, who even appeared in her dreams?

Raymond lifted his head, looking at Margaret's increasingly gaunt, bloodless face.

Her brows were furrowed. She must have been having a nightmare.

She was frowning like this for a mute, while yesterday, he risked his life for her family, and she didn't show this much concern for him. He was still her husband in the name.

Margaret's eyes were closed, her long lashes fluttering. She didn't know she had already caused trouble; she only knew she was in a terrifying nightmare.

She dreamt of ten years ago, when she and Marlon went to Ironwood Lane, and she encountered the little mute alone.

The little mute was surrounded by a group of kids, who were hitting him with bricks.

They were punching and kicking the little mute.

She wanted to help, but she found she couldn't move, floating in mid-air.

The little mute was beaten bloody, lying motionless on the grass.

Margaret could only desperately shout to the little mute, "Run... little mute... run."

But he seemed unable to hear her, not even glancing at her, let alone running.

In the end, the little mute was beaten to death, his body a bloody mess.

She heard someone whispering cruelly and bloodthirstily in her ear, "He's dead, your little mute is dead."

Margaret seemed to be shocked, opening her eyes suddenly.

Raymond, however, was already dressed, sitting on the edge of the bed.

A large hand fell on Margaret's hair, patting it like a pet, expressionless. "How many men do you have in your heart? Tell me, isn't one Daniel enough, now there's a little mute? Who else? Hmm?"

"Raymond, I don't want to argue with you," Margaret said calmly, tiredly.

Arguing with him was too exhausting. She didn't have many days left to live; she didn't want to waste time on arguments.

Raymond was provoked by her indifferent attitude. "You don't want to argue, yet you call out another man's name in your dream? You should keep him in your heart and silently remember him, but you let me hear it. Aren't you afraid I'll give you trouble? Or do you think I'm as magnanimous as you?"

"Can we talk about this when we get back? Please don't argue here; I don't want my parents to hear us," Margaret sighed.

She didn't expect to call out the little mute in her dream.

She couldn't even remember his features clearly; how could she have him in her heart? Raymond's words were simply nonsense.

She wanted to keep the peace, but he insisted on arguing. "What kind of attitude is that, Margaret?"

Outside the master bedroom, Marlon hadn't slept all night.

Ever since Nancy told him that Margaret wasn't being treated well by Raymond, he had been sleepless.

Nancy had helped him into his wheelchair and then went back to sleep.

Marlon didn't want to disturb Nancy's rest; she had been working hard lately.

So he sat in his wheelchair, wandering around the living room.

The servants were already in the kitchen making breakfast.

The aroma of breakfast wafted through the air.

Marlon, with his cloudy eyes, heard the sounds of an argument coming from Margaret's room. Worried about Margaret, he quickly maneuvered his wheelchair to the door.

All the sounds from inside came out.

Marlon heard Raymond scolding Margaret. "Didn't your parents teach you what marital fidelity is? You dare call out another man in your dream, are you looking for trouble?"

"You dare glare at me? I'll make you pay for that!"

"I know better than you what kind of person your dad is! If you want him dead, keep making me angry!"

"This is what your Hughes Family owes me!"

Hearing these words, Marlon was furious.

He grabbed the cane hanging on his wheelchair and started banging on the door.

He was also making muffled sounds with his mouth.

Because Marlon felt that his Margaret was being bullied by Raymond inside!

Marlon loved Margaret very much,, and Raymond was using such vicious language to insult her! How could he stand that?

Seeing the door to the room still didn't open, Marlon became anxious.

He used all his strength, gripping the cane tightly, and frantically banged on the door.

Inside the room, Raymond, hearing the banging, became even more irritated.

He didn't know who was outside; he only knew he was in a very bad mood.

Raymond let go of Margaret's chin, coldly smiling. "Change your clothes, and come back with me!"

Then he turned, striding towards the door.

Hearing the banging grew louder, Raymond suddenly opened the door.

He saw Marlon sitting in the wheelchair, veins bulging, glaring at him.

Marlon raised the cane to hit Raymond, making muffled sounds with his mouth. From his expression, Raymond could tell Marlon was cursing him.

This was the first time Raymond had seen Marlon awake.

Raymond had deliberately avoided meeting him, given the deep hatred between them!

He had thought he loved Margaret enough to try to let go of his hatred, to accept Marlon.

But when he actually saw Marlon in the wheelchair.

Images of Sandra being stabbed by Marlon's driver Percy, flashed before his eyes.

Sandra was stabbed to death by Percy, and in his arms, she gritted her teeth and urged. 'Marlon... Raymond... avenge me.'

Raymond also remembered their house being burned to the ground by Marlon's men.

His parents had no enmity with Marlon, yet Marlon had run them over, leaving them half-dead.

To escape criminal responsibility, Marlon had his driver destroy all evidence with a fire, claiming it was due to old wiring.

But Raymond knew very well that was just an excuse.

Thinking of those past events, Raymond's eyes turned blood-red.

When the cane was about to hit him, he grabbed the cane, glaring at Marlon in the wheelchair, gritting his teeth, and sneering. "Marlon, are asking for trouble?"

Marlon had never seen Raymond treat him like this. In Marlon's memory, Raymond had always been respectful to him.

No matter what, he was Raymond's elder. But Raymond didn't see him as an elder at all. Sensing Raymond's tone and attitude, Marlon was so angry he was gasping for breath, trying even harder to grab the cane, to hit Raymond.

He wanted to teach him a lesson to let him know what morality is.
