Chapter 138 No Matter What Happens in the Future, We Will Never Leave Each Other
Margaret saw Raymond wasn't budging, so she grabbed the scissors, and aimed them right at her belly.
Just as the scissors were about to pierce her belly, Raymond's hand shot out and grabbed the blade.
The blade cut into his palm, making him wince in pain.
Blood dripped onto the floor.
Margaret knew she had won. He yanked the scissors away and tossed them aside.
"Do you hate this kid that much? Margaret, you're even more shameless than I thought!" Raymond snarled, grabbing her throat with his other hand.
His face was twisted with anger, veins popping on his forehead.
Margaret was in so much pain she wanted to cry, but her tears had dried up. She forced a bitter smile, "Raymond, if you want me to keep this baby, you have to sign the contract! Otherwise, once you leave, I'll find a way to get rid of it! Your bodyguards can't keep me in forever!"
Her words pushed him over the edge.
She thought he might actually strangle her, then he released her begrudgingly.
With his bleeding fingers, he bent down to pick up the two contracts from the floor. Unfolding them, he picked up the pen prepared on the coffee table and signed his name without hesitation.
"Raymond, you need to meet these conditions right away!" Margaret gasped for air and spoke.
Only she knew this baby couldn't be born; it would die inside her.
The longer this dragged on, the more likely Raymond would back out. She had to lock down her terms and secure her benefits.
Raymond, seething, punched the wall.
Margaret shut her eyes in fear.
When she opened them, she saw he had smashed the vase next to her, shards scattered everywhere.
Raymond growled, "Margaret, you're too much!"
Her heart ached from his cold words, but she held her ground. "Raymond, your character is too poor. I don't trust you."
"You don't trust me? This is my child; would I mistreat him?" Raymond laughed bitterly. No one knew how much he wanted this child!
How much he dreamed of hearing this child call him Daddy!
Margaret sneered, "You don't trust me either, do you? We're at a point where there's no trust left, Raymond."
"Fine, Margaret!" Raymond glared at her, then pulled out his phone and called Alvin, telling him to bring the documents for transferring shares to the villa.
Alvin was confused, not understanding why Raymond wanted to transfer valuable shares, so he asked, but Raymond snapped at him, telling him to get it done before dark or he'd be fired.
Alvin moved fast; within minutes, he arrived with a lawyer and a bank rep.
The hundred million dollars Margaret demanded was transferred to her account.
The fifty percent of The Hughes Group shares she wanted were also transferred to her. This included dozens of properties and Marlon's fifty million dollars in medical expenses, all of which were fulfilled.
By the time it was all done, it was already evening.
Alvin left with the lawyer and others.
Raymond didn't even look at her and turned to leave.
She blocked his way again.
Raymond, clearly annoyed, snapped, "What now? Haven't you had enough?"
Margaret gave a bitter smile, "Raymond, you still owe me one last thing."
"Are you ever gonna stop?" Raymond squinted at her.
Margaret looked him in the eye and murmured,"You must promise me, no matter what happens in the future, you will let go of any resentment, take care of my parents in their old age, and support The Hughes Family!"
"Margaret, who do you think you are to treat me like this?" Raymond suddenly grabbed her throat and shoved her against the wall, his eyes blazing.
He had already given in to so many of her demands, and now she wanted a promise?
Who did she think she was? They were enemies!
Margaret, however, repeatedly made unreasonable demands, taking advantage of his affection for the child.
In the past, when he lost his temper, she would panic and be scared, but now she was unusually calm. Maybe people who were about to die were always this calm.
Margaret said, "Raymond, I know you want me dead. You wish I would die sooner."
Raymond said, "Good that you know!"
Margaret said, "I will fulfill your wish; you don't have to worry! But you have to make this promise!"
"Shut up!" Raymond growled, irritated by her words.
Why was she always talking about death now? It made him furious.
When did he ever want her dead? He just wanted her to bear children!
Wasn't it a wife's duty to bear children for her husband?
Back then, Margaret desperately wanted to have his children. But now, to avoid having his child, she was making so many calculations!
The Margaret in front of him didn't seem like the pure and loving Margaret he remembered.
Realizing her change, Raymond couldn't suppress his anger and frustration, saying, "I don't want to hear you talk!"
Margaret gave a bitter smile. So they had reached a point where they couldn't even talk properly.
Margaret said, "You must swear, if you ever break this vow, mistreat my parents, or harm The Hughes Family, you will live a life of solitude, childless and grandchildless, and meet a miserable end!"
Raymond said, "Margaret, are you cursing me to die miserably?"
"How many times have you cursed me? Raymond, show your sincerity. Or are you just lying to me, never intending to take care of my parents?"
"If you have this child, everything will be fine!" Raymond's eyes showed a restrained emotion, and he laughed bitterly.
"Raymond, I'm not an idiot! Terms need to be negotiated from the start; you taught me that, remember?" Margaret said with a mocking smile, "Hurry up, you're just one step away! Swear, and I'll believe you!"
Raymond's veins bulged on the back of his hand, and he glared at her, red-faced, wanting to tear her apart, but his hand on her throat never tightened, his emotions restrained by extreme rationality.
"Raymond, is it so hard to swear? You really never intended to spare my parents, did you?" Margaret smiled at him and said in a questioning tone, "You plan to destroy the Hughes Family one by one, right? That's your goal, isn't it?"
As soon as Margaret finished speaking, she saw his eyes redden, and tears broke through as he gritted his teeth and spoke the next words. Margaret was quite stunned. This was the first time she saw him cry with hatred!
