Chapter 249 He Was Like a Wisp of Air, Completely Egnored by Margaret

When she called, her condition flared up, and the painkillers were left in Raymond's passenger seat.

Margaret was in severe pain and wanted him to turn back and bring her the medication.

But she called many times, and he didn't answer.

She texted him, and he told her to die sooner.

Margaret placed the snow boots in her hand on the shoe rack.

In a very light, indifferent tone, she said, "I accidentally dialed the wrong number."

"Didn't you text me saying you needed something from me?" Raymond remembered that plea for help.

Margaret refused to respond; she was tired of meaningless matters and simply desired to go indoors.

Raymond used his tall body to block Margaret's way.

He had a determined look, as if he wouldn't let it go without getting an answer.

Margaret sighed and lied against her will, "I sent it to the wrong person. Sorry."

Raymond didn't believe she sent it to the wrong person because the message had his name in it.

"I don't believe you."

Margaret was amused by him; he didn't believe her.

So he knew she needed him, yet he still cursed her to die sooner.

Now he was here to discuss it with her; what was the point?

Margaret looked up at him, "I said I sent it to the wrong person."

"Then who were you trying to text?" Raymond laughed angrily.

She still had this attitude. Didn't she feel she owed him? Did she think he didn't know she had just gotten out of Daniel's car?

Margaret smirked, "Definitely not you."

"Raymond, can you move?" Margaret brushed past his shoulder, going inside.

Margaret had only taken a few steps when she heard Raymond mockingly say, "I called you, why didn't you answer?"

Her eyelid twitched; she didn't know Raymond had called her.

She took out her phone from her down jacket pocket.

She opened it and saw five missed calls.

But during that time, she was busy getting checked at the hospital, listening to the attending doctor talk about her condition. So she had put her phone on silent.

Margaret had wanted to explain to him that she didn't purposefully ignore his calls.

"Why aren't you explaining?" Raymond walked up to her, his tone sharp.

Margaret looked up and saw his mocking face.

She thought again about how every time she needed him, he coincidentally didn't answer the phone or wasn't by her side.

Margaret also thought about him hugging Sarah.

Sarah confessed her feelings to him, wanting to be his wife.

She even kissed him, and he stood there like a puppet, forgetting he had a wife, that he wasn't divorced yet, forgetting to push Sarah away.

Despite Sarah's disfigured face wrapped in bandages, devoid of beauty, he could still kiss her, displaying his true infatuation.

Margaret didn't want to bring up old scores, didn't want to remember Raymond's affairs, but those images seemed nailed into her memory.

Every time Raymond got close to her or argued with her.

Those images would automatically come up, again and again, stabbing her heart.

"Margaret, shouldn't you explain to me?" Raymond's tone grew heavier.

Margaret sneered and looked up, her pale cheeks smiling at him, "Why should I explain to you? Raymond, didn't you also not answer my calls? We're even."

"I didn't answer your calls, so you got into Daniel's car? Hmm?"

Margaret blinked, realizing he was following her.

So he saw her coughing up blood in pain, but he just stood by coldly.

How much must he hate her to watch her cough up blood in the snow and remain indifferent? Raymond's cold-bloodedness shocked her.

Daniel had told him she was in the late stages of cancer, yet he still treated her this way.

Margaret felt exhausted thinking about it.

She was so tired; the baby in her belly had mutated into a monster, like cancer cells, crazily absorbing her nutrients.

She wouldn't make it through the year.

But there were only three days left until the new year.

She might not even make it through those three days.

Time was precious to her; how could she waste it arguing and tormenting each other with Raymond?

Margaret smiled and turned to go to the walk-in closet to change her clothes.

But Raymond didn't plan to let her go; he grabbed her arm and pulled her back, pinning her against the wall.

The wall was so cold, and Margaret was most afraid of the cold.

"I'm waiting for your explanation."

"No explanation," Margaret sneered.

Raymond was completely angered by her indifferent attitude.

The old Margaret was most afraid of being misunderstood by him.

Every time he had even a little suspicion, she would proactively explain. But now, how had Margaret become like this?

She didn't care about his feelings anymore, didn't care how he saw her?

"What do you mean by that? Margaret, have you forgotten your identity? You're my wife! What right do you have to get out of Daniel's car? I told you to stay away from him, don't you understand?"

"What kind of family is Daniel's? Even if he's an illegitimate child, he's still a Taylor! Do you think Joe would allow a woman like you into their family? Do you think Daniel is sincere with you? He's just playing with you; a woman like you, he'll play with and then toss aside! Only I don't despise you!"

"You're pregnant with my child, and you still can't settle down?" Raymond's face turned flash as he said a lot.

But Margaret looked at him without any anger.

She just smiled lightly, constantly reminding herself in her heart, 'It doesn't matter anymore, Margaret, you only have a few days left to live. Don't argue with a scumbag like Raymond. Ignoring him is the right thing to do. Life is precious, and time should be spent with your family, not a jerk like Raymond.'

Margaret smiled, "Are you done?"

"What?" Raymond looked at her in surprise.

Margaret pushed him away, "If you're done, move. I need to change my clothes."

With that, Margaret turned and went to the walk-in closet.

"Margaret, how did you become like this? You're just giving up on yourself."

Hearing his words, Margaret's back paused.

She became like this because of Raymond. Now he was pushing all the responsibility away, which was disgusting.

"Raymond, I became like this because of you. Your wish is about to come true." Margaret smiled wearily, then went into the walk-in closet.

Raymond watched the closet door slam shut.

She didn't even look at him, as if he was just a puff of air.

But once, he was Margaret's whole world.

At this moment, Raymond's phone rang.

It was Hubert calling. "Mr. Howard, the medicine that's good for the baby has been prepared. Should I send it to the Hughes Group?"
