Chapter 127 It Won't Hurt Much

The doctor's face shifted a bit, and he nudged Margaret. "Turn off your phone."

He shot a glance at the cold machine. "Then take off your pants and lie down. We'll start the surgery right away."

Margaret stared at her phone, buzzing non-stop. She really shouldn't pick up now; it would be a mess if Raymond found out.

She hung up and shot Raymond a quick text: [I'm busy.] Then she bit her lip and powered off her phone.

Margaretslid her pants halfway down and lay on the machine.

The baby inside her seemed to sense something bad; her stomach started aching in waves, like it was silently fighting against the fate of becoming a pool of blood before even being born.

Margaret bit her lip, touched her belly, and thought, 'Baby, don't be scared. Mommy's here with you. It won't hurt much. Mommy will join you soon, baby. You can't be my child in this life, but we will be in heaven, where no one can separate us.'

Thinking this, Margaret felt a sharp pain in her heart. No one didn't love their own child; she was no different.

Margaret had once really wanted a child with Raymond, but reality had other plans! Her clear tears broke free and slid down her cheeks.

The doctor, prepping the syringe, looked at her with sympathy, thinking she was scared of the pain, and tried to comfort her. "We'll give you anesthesia. You'll be fine after a nap. Don't worry. It won't hurt."

"Thank you." She wiped her tears and forced a smile.

Meanwhile, Raymond was stuck on an overpass.

The green light suddenly turned red, causing a massive traffic jam. He angrily slammed his hand on the steering wheel. "The number you have dialed is currently on another call."

l.

Margaret actually dared not to answer his call!

A message popped up on his phone screen. It was from Margaret: [I'm busy.]

Was she busy aborting his child?

Raymond initiated a video call. His anger was boiling over.

The video call rang for a full minute without being answered!

Raymond was livid. He kept dialing the video call over and over.

No one answered.

Raymond: [What are you busy with?]

Raymond: [Margaret, answer me!]

Raymond's veins bulged on the back of his hand as he sent a message to Margaret.

But Margaret still didn't reply.

He called Margaret again. "The number you have dialed is currently turned off. Please try again later."

The cold machine prompt sounded again.

In a fit of rage, Raymond threw his phone.

The phone hit the ground with a dull thud.

Still not satisfied, he slammed the steering wheel hard. "Margaret!"

At that moment, the red light on the overpass suddenly turned green.

Raymond, anxious and frantic, floored the gas pedal, and the speedometer on the dashboard shot up to its max!

He couldn't even begin to imagine what he'd do if Margaret really went through with aborting his kid! He'd strangle her with his bare hands! She carried such a heavy sin, yet she dared to abort his child secretly!

Ten minutes later, a black Bentley screeched to a halt at the hospital entrance.

Raymond hastily unbuckled his seatbelt, opened the car door, and stepped out with a stern expression. Then he slammed the door shut with ferocity.

He hurried up the steps into the hospital lobby, followed the floor directory through several corridors, and reached the row of abortion rooms.

Unable to contact Margaret, he checked each room. Opening one, he saw a drawn curtain with a woman's silhouette behind it. Wasn't that Margaret?

Raymond was shaking with anger and yanked open the curtain. "Margaret, who gave you the guts to come here for an abortion behind my back?!"

The curtain was pulled open. But it was a middle-aged woman lying on the machine, still unconscious from the anesthesia.

The masked female doctor saw Raymond barging in and sternly scolded, "The patient is in surgery. How did you get in? Get out immediately!"

"Which room is Margaret in? Tell me." Raymond glared at her and urgently asked.

Perhaps his imposing manner was too intimidating, the doctor turned pale with fright. "What Margaret? I don't know."

Raymond laughed angrily and stormed out of the abortion room.

He barged into each room one by one.

Finally, he found Margaret in the last abortion room at the end of the corridor!

At this moment, Margaret was lying on the machine, her pale face covered in crystal-clear tears. Her hand was on her belly.

The masked doctor in a white coat was holding a syringe, about to inject her with anesthesia.

Raymond rushed forward, grabbed the doctor's white coat collar, and punched him in the face.

The doctor hadn't even reacted before Raymond knocked him to the ground, covering his head with his hands. "Why are you hitting me? I didn't provoke you."

"Where's my child? What did you do to my child?" Raymond roared, raising his fist to hit the doctor again.

Margaret flustered, not expecting Raymond to find her. Fearing the worst, she quickly jumped off the machine and shielded the doctor with her body. Raymond's anger shouldn't be directed at an innocent person.

"If you want to hit someone, hit me! I want the abortion; it has nothing to do with him! Taking out your anger on an innocent person, what kind of man are you?" Margaret glared at Raymond and shouted.

As soon as she finished speaking, Raymond pushed her aside. "Margaret, don't be in a hurry to defend him. I'll deal with you later!"

"Tell me, what did you do to my child?" Raymond's fist landed on the doctor again. "How dare you abort my child? Have you grown tired of living?"
