Chapter 140 Acting in Front of Me, Isn't It Disgusting?

Sarah's eyes welled up with tears, and she cried out, "It hurts, Margaret! Raymond and I are innocent. Our relationship isn't what you think it is."

Seeing her fake fragility, Margaret got even angrier and slammed the thermos on the bedside table, gripping Sarah's hand tighter.

How wasn't their relationship what she thought it was?

Raymond had admitted it—they'd done everything! And not just once!

"Sarah, don't you feel gross pretending in front of me?" Margaret laughed bitterly.

Sarah turned her head, pleading, "Raymond, my wrist hurts so much."

"If you keep this up and don't let her go, I don't know if she'll die, but you might lose that hand!" Raymond didn't want to defend Sarah, but he remembered how Margaret had forced him to swear yesterday; he was still fuming.

Margaret stared at him, stunned. Between her and Sarah, he always chose Sarah!

Margaret felt so pathetic, letting Raymond humiliate her like this!

Margaret let go of Sarah and sneered, "I just came to see if you were dead. Didn't expect you to be so lucky!"

Raymond said, "I'm not dead. Are you disappointed?"

Margaret said, "Of course. That car accident yesterday should have killed you."

"Margaret, don't worry. I'll definitely die after you."

Raymond's true feelings were laid bare to Margaret, right in front of Sarah, his mistress.

The most ironic part? His wish was about to come true!

Barring any surprises, she really would die before him.

Margaret looked at him for a long time, her eyes suddenly filling with tears. She  was at a loss for words, not even to hurl insults.

She turned to leave, but then Raymond said in the coldest tone, "Instead of bringing me soup to please me, why don't you just give birth to the child in your womb!"

He was always talking about the child in her womb.

Margaret sneered, holding back her tears. Did he really hate seeing her alive that much?

He had to remind her again and again!

Margaret turned back and said with a gentle smile, "I told you, I came to collect your body! Unfortunately, my wish didn't come true! Since Sarah is here, I won't disturb Mr. Howard's pleasure!"

Margaret left the room without looking back.

Raymond's face darkened, and Sarah, pretending to be thoughtful, comforted him, "Raymond, Margaret is Marlon's daughter. You actually want her to have your child? If you want a child, I can help you have a baby!"

"What makes you think you're qualified to help me have a baby?" Raymond frowned at her, aggressively questioning.

Sarah was stunned and said, "I..."

Raymond said, "Sarah, know your rightful place. It's true you helped me financially, but that doesn't mean you can give me a child! Not just anyone can have a child with me!"

"But if we get married in the future, I'll have children too," Sarah argued.

Raymond got even more irritated and said, "Get out!"

Sarah said, "Raymond, I didn't mean to force you to divorce. I'm already satisfied that you took wedding photos with me. I'll wait for you. I've waited for so many years; I don't mind waiting another twenty days. Don't be so angry."

Raymond was infurious. "Get out!"

Saeah said, "Okay, you're the patient. Don't get so mad. If you don't want to see me, I'll leave now. I'll come back in a few days to see you."

Sarah was fuming inside, feeling utterly despised by Raymond. How could she not be angry? But she had no choice; her plans hadn't succeeded yet, so she had to suck it up!

With that thought, Sarah got up and quickly left the room.

Raymond smoked several cigarettes, his brows furrowed.

When he saw the soup on the cabinet, his brows relaxed a bit. He picked it up with one hand and opened it.

The soup was still steaming, and even before drinking it, he found it smelled wonderful.

With a faint smile, he took a spoonful and brought it to his lips.

Alvin entered the room at that moment, carrying a bag of fruit. He didn't know what had just happened in the room but saw that Raymond had finished the soup.

Mr. Howard's lips still held a faint smile, indicating he was in a good mood.

Alvin recognized the soup as the one Margaret had brought.

Alvin said, "Mr. Howard, Mrs. Howard really cares about you. She even made the soup herself."

"She didn't make the soup," Raymond frowned and said.

Alvin was surprised and said, "You can tell just by tasting it?"

"I have a stomach problem. She learned to cook just so I could eat properly. Her soup tastes much better than this," Raymond said, feeling conflicted.

If he remembered correctly, it had been over a year since Margaret had made him soup.

Alvin sought reconciliation, "Mr. Howard, you must coax Mrs. Howard a bit more. When she is in a good mood, making soup is nothing. She is willing to give you children; that is the true testament of her love. How about you go home tonight and spend some time with Mrs. Howard?"

"You're so smart. Go handle the discharge paperwork," Raymond glanced at him.

Alvin quickly agreed and left the room.

Margaret took the elevator to see Marlon.

Nancy said Marlon was recovering well and would wake up soon.

Margaret listened silently. It was the only good news she had heard in days.

She just hoped Marlon would wake up soon so she could say goodbye to her father in person.

In the few days she hadn't seen her, Nancy's hair had turned even grayer, painfully piercing Margaret's eyes.

Margaret said with a faint smile, "Mom, Dad won't lack medical expenses anymore. There's fifty million dollars in his medical account, and I have a hundred million dollars in cash. Don't worry too much. Dad needs you."

After she died, Marlon would only have Nancy left!

"Margaret, where did you get so much money? Did something happen to you?" Nancy looked at her in shock.

Margaret held her hand and said with a slight smile, "Mom, I'm pregnant with Raymond's child. He gave me the money for the sake of the child."

Nancy didn't speak for a long time, only crying and saying that Margaret had been wronged.

After comforting Nancy, Margaret finally left the ward. As she descended the stairs and reached the door, she encountered Sarah, dressed in fur, black skinny pants, and boots.

Sarah seemed to be waiting for her and wasn't surprised to see her.

But Margaret didn't want to talk with her. Just looking at Sarah made her feel disgusted and disdained. She tried to walk past her.

However, Sarah stepped in front of her, blocking her path and provocatively smiling, "Margaret, I didn't expect you to be so pathetic. Raymond has ruined the Hughes Family, and you still want to have his child? Have you forgotten what he's done? He hired Ashley to kill you! Aren't you afraid he'll strangle you in your sleep?"

As soon as she finished speaking, Sarah was slapped to the ground by Margaret.
