Chapter 134 Raymond, did you see my medical report?

Margaret was pacing around the living room, feeling all kinds of restless.

Just then, her doctor called, sounding all anxious. "Mrs. Hughes, weren't you supposed to have an abortion? How come I heard your husband took you away that day?"

"I..." Margaret was at a loss for words; she had no idea how to explain.

The doctor got serious, "I'm not trying to butt in, but your health can't wait. You need that surgery ASAP!"

Right then, a cold, low laugh cut through the air, "Who are you talking to on the phone?"

Margaret's body shook like a leaf.

Raymond's eyes narrowed instantly. Was he a devil? She was terrified of him!

Margaret looked up to see him walking over with a dark expression. She quickly hung up and stammered, "The doctor is urging me to get the abortion."

"Is it the doctor urging you, or do you not want the kid yourself? You know the answer!" Raymond scoffed, one hand in his pocket, giving her a sideways glance.

Margaret bit her lip. "What do you mean by that?"

"What do I mean? You really don't know? Margaret, stop playing dumb. If you're not tired of acting, I'm tired of watching!" Raymond shot her a cold look and turned to leave.

Margaret blocked his way, panicking, "What am I acting about?"

Raymond said, "Your medical report is out!"

"Raymond, you've seen my medical report, and you still treat me like this? Can't you be a little nicer to me before I die?" Margaret sneered.

Raymond pulled out his phone and sent the electronic medical report to her.

She opened it and was shocked to see it showed she had no health issues at all, even though she was supposed to be in the late stages of liver cancer. The report also said her body was perfect for pregnancy!

"Raymond, there's something wrong with this report! Let's go to another hospital for a recheck!"

"Margaret, I don't have time for these games. Instead of wasting time on lies, think about having this kid and making me happy. Maybe then I'll give you more of what you want." It was clear he didn't believe her at all, his eyes full of weariness and annoyance.

He turned to leave.

Margaret gripped her phone tightly, glaring at his retreating figure, and shouted, "But I will die! Raymond, what do I have to say for you to believe me? This child can't be born; we'll die together!"

"You were supposed to die anyway, weren't you?" Raymond thought she was acting and started to speak harshly.

Margaret clenched her fists and shouted, "Raymond!"

"If you have this child, you can die wherever you want;I won't stop you! But if you dare to harm my child, Margaret, I will make Marlon and the entire Hughes Family pay!"

"Raymond, do you really want me dead that much? Do you really hope I die? Does it make you uncomfortable for me to live one more day?" Margaret's tears fell uncontrollably as she gritted her teeth and questioned him.

Raymond's first reaction upon seeing her cry was to walk over and wipe her tears.

But Margaret was too bold; she even lied about having a terminal illness to get a divorce, and she acted so convincingly that he almost believed her!

He couldn't be nice to her, or she would become more outrageous! She was Marlon's daughter; he should torment her, not pity her or feel sorry for her!

Thinking of this, Raymond suddenly said with a sinister smile, "The urn is ready for you;what do you think?"

Margaret thought to herself, 'Yeah, Margaret, the urn is ready. What are you still hoping for?'

She was so angry her voice turned hoarse, her whole body trembling, tears streaming down her face. She wiped them away; this was the heartless man she had loved for so many years.

Margaret said, "Dream on! Even if I die, I won't have this child!"

"Margaret, you said it, don't regret it!" Raymond shot back coldly, then turned and headed downstairs.

As he walked out of the apartment, he saw Mary coming back with a grocery basket. Mary greeted him respectfully, and he instructed coldly, "Make sure Mrs. Howard gets her three meals a day with proper nutrition."

Mary replied, "Yes, Mr.Howard."

"She's not allowed to go out during this period; she can only move within the villa. Follow her closely. Besides, put away all sharp knives and tools in the house." Raymond frowned, thinking of Margaret's strong-willed nature.

She had already tried to slit her wrists once; this time, he couldn't give her any chance.

Having Mary follow her closely was the only way he could be at ease.

Mary didn't feel comfortable commenting on his behavior; wasn't this surveillance? But since she was working for her employer, she couldn't get involved in such matters and could only nod in agreement.

Raymond walked to the black Bentley parked by the roadside, opened the door, and sat in the driver's seat.

He lit a cigarette, trying to suppress the anger in his heart. Getting Margaret pregnant was a selfish act on his part.

They said a woman's attachment lay with her child. Once she had her own child, Margaret would return to him. They would try to let go of their hatred for the sake of the child

Raymond didn't know why, but recently he had been missing the old days more and more.

Margaret's current hatred for him was temporary; he was thinking about their future.

Raymond took a private jet back to Ironwood Lane andwent to his parents' grave on a drizzly afternoon.

He placed the daisy flowers he was holding in front of the tombstone.

He touched the black-and-white photos of his parents smiling. He felt a mix of emotions.

"Dad, Mom, Margaret is pregnant. You're going to have a grandchild. Will you be happy to hear this news in heaven?" Raymond looked tiredly at their photos and said, "I don't want revenge anymore;I'm so tired. Revenge brings pain and hatred. Marlon has already received his due punishment; he's paralyzed in bed, his life hanging by a thread. The Hughes Family has been taken over by me; they all depend on me to live. Dad, Mom, you will understand me, won't you? From now on, I want to live a good life, to live a simple, loving life with the girl I like."

Raymond continued, "Dad, Mom, please bless Margaret in heaven. She is innocent; she did nothing wrong. Bless the child in her womb to be born safely and smoothly. Bless our family to return to the way it was. I had everything planned out, except for the fact that I would completely fall in love with Marlon's daughter."

Back at the villa.

Margaret discovered that Mary had taken away all the scissors, fruit knives, and even nail clippers from the house.

When she went downstairs to get a glass of water, Mary followed her closely, and there were several burly bodyguards standing at the villa entrance.

It was only then that she realized she had been placed under house arrest!
