Chapter 336: There Are Always Some Concerns That Are Hard to Let Go

Sarah's sobbing was driving Hubert nuts.

With a quick slap, she immediately went quiet.

After they had sex, Hubert tossed a set of keys at her.

The keys hit Sarah's knuckles, making her wince in pain and tears well up in her eyes.

"Go back and clean the floors."

"I..." Sarah was stunned.

Hubert had always been rough in bed, but he had never made her do chores before.

Was he treating her like a free maid now?

"And then buy groceries, cook dinner, and wait for me to come back."

"I don't know how to cook!"

Hubert had no patience for her anymore and slapped her again.

Sarah was left dizzy and disoriented.

"Do you know how to cook now?"

"Yes, yes," Sarah gasped, this jerk was pushing her too far.

Hubert grabbed her hair roughly, forcing her to look him in the eyes. "Keeping you around isn't for your comfort. If it weren't for the fact that you took Margaret's place and Raymond still has some use for you, do you think you'd still be alive?"

"You're using me!" Sarah glared at him.

He sneered, "Don't you want to marry Raymond? Don't worry, I'll help you get what you want. Using you to take over Raymond's fortune will be the most entertaining thing. And don't even think about switching sides; I know all your dirty secrets. I'll make sure you die after me."

"If I come back and find the floors aren't clean or the food isn't good, Sarah, I'm training you to be a rich man's wife. Without a strong heart and the ability to endure, marrying Raymond will be torture."

Sarah glared at him but could only glare.

"Did you hear me?" Hubert suddenly roared.

Sarah flinched, "I heard you. I'll do whatever you say, just don't hit me."

"Why aren't you leaving?"

"I'm going, I'm going," Sarah muttered submissively.

She swore to herself,

One day, she would kill him.

She swore she would repay today's humiliation a thousand times over.

Silverbrook.

Alvin was driving, following a motorcycle ahead.

The mountain road was steep and winding, like a coiled snake.

The motorcycle suddenly stopped, and a casually dressed man got off.

Alvin stopped the car, unsure of what was happening.

The man, wearing a hat, walked towards Raymond's car.

He knocked on the rear window.

"Mr. Howard..." Alvin looked at Raymond uneasily.

Raymond, expressionless, opened the car door and got out.

"Mr. Howard, sneaking around following people, is that your usual style? Aren't you afraid of being laughed at if word gets out?" The man spoke with his hands in his jeans pockets.

Raymond recognized the voice.

He looked at the man.

The man lifted his head, revealing his features to Raymond.

"It's you?" Raymond was momentarily stunned, then squinted his eyes and mocked, "Daniel, why are you everywhere? As the president of The Taylor Group, you sure have a lot of free time. Not busy with business, trying to impress your dad, and running off to the middle of nowhere. Aren't you afraid your dad will be so disappointed in you, his illegitimate son, that he'll bring back another one?"

Alvin walked over, standing beside Raymond, nodding at Daniel in greeting.

Daniel wasn't angry; instead, he smirked. "I'm an illegitimate son, but my father personally brought me back and acknowledged me. Legitimately. Unlike some people who use women to climb up, a true freeloader."

"Who are you calling a freeloader?" Raymond laughed angrily, grabbing Daniel by the collar.

Daniel didn't flinch. "I didn't name names. Mr. Howard, are you feeling guilty?"

"You!" Raymond raised his fist to hit Daniel, seeing his actions as a provocation.

Alvin quickly grabbed Raymond's sleeve. "Mr. Howard, remember why we're here. Don't complicate things."

Raymond's rationality slowly returned. He stared at Daniel for a while, then released his grip on his hoodie.

Daniel taunted, "No wonder Mr. Jones doesn't want to see you. With your way of handling things, it's a miracle if he does."

"What good does it do if he sees you?" Raymond sneered.

Alvin looked at Daniel. "Mr. Taylor, why are you here to see Mr. Jones?"

"To ask Mr. Jones to help save someone."

"Mr. Jones is already treating a patient. Does he have time for you? Do you, an illegitimate son, have that kind of influence?" Raymond smirked coldly.

Daniel crossed his arms, looking at Raymond, then suddenly smiled. "Mr. Howard, one day, you'll pay for your arrogance. Many things in this world can't be controlled by power alone. But someone as high and mighty as you probably won't listen to me. No point in talking further, goodbye."

Daniel turned and walked towards his motorcycle.

Raymond suddenly remembered Daniel coming to The Hughes Group to ask him to persuade Margaret to get treatment.

Could it be that the person Daniel wanted to save was Margaret?

"Daniel." Raymond quickly walked to the motorcycle.

Daniel put on his helmet. "Mr. Howard, what else do you want?"

"Is the person you want to save Margaret?"

Daniel's fingers froze as he put on the helmet.

He didn't answer.

"Do you have a way to save her?"

Daniel remained silent.

"Daniel, if you can convince Mr. Jones to save Margaret, I'll give you anything you want."

"Margaret's condition is very bad. She was kidnapped, fell off a cliff, and was soaked in the lake for so long. The doctors say she could die at any moment."

Daniel suddenly got off the motorcycle and punched Raymond in the face.

Raymond was caught off guard and fell to the ground.

"Raymond, how many times have I told you, she has cancer! She has cancer! You need to treat her well! You can't even protect your woman, what kind of man are you? She was kidnapped right under your nose?" Daniel glared at Raymond, getting angrier as he spoke, punching him again. "All you do is act high and mighty. What else can you do? She's a fool for sticking with you! How can there be such a foolish woman in this world!"

Daniel, still not satisfied, raised his fist again.

Alvin quickly intervened. "Mr. Taylor, stop. Mr. Howard has his reasons. He's innocent too."
