Chapter 152 Will Wishes Come True?

"I just had to take care of some work."

Margaret eyed him skeptically and smirked, "Oh really? Work, huh?"

"Why are you so suspicious?" He frowned without realizing it.

She let out a bitter laugh. He had cheated on her, and now he was calling her suspicious?

Margaret shut her eyes, too exhausted to argue.

Right then, Raymond's phone rang again. He glanced at the screen, his expression shifted slightly, then looked at Margaret pretending to sleep on the bed. "I'm heading out for a bit. Think about what you want to eat, and I'll take you out for dinner when I get back."

Margaret didn't respond, but he left anyway.

The suite door closed softly behind him.

Margaret felt suffocated, got up from the bed, and stood by the window.

She looked down.

At the hotel entrance, Sarah was standing there!

Next to Sarah were several suitcases.

Margaret wondered if Raymond would show up soon.

To see for herself, she stayed by the window.

Sure enough, half a minute later, Raymond, dressed in a dark suit, came out of the hotel.

He walked towards Sarah, and the two of them started talking quietly.

Sarah waved, and a taxi pulled up in front of her.

Margaret watched as Raymond thoughtfully helped her with the suitcases, putting them in the trunk.

Then he closed the trunk.

Margaret pulled out her phone from her down jacket pocket and snapped a photo of Raymond opening the car door for Sarah.

Then she drew the curtains, grabbed a coat from the suitcase, and changed her clothes.

Her stomach growled loudly; she was starving.

She thought Raymond would leave with Sarah, but a few minutes later, he returned to the suite.

Seeing that she had changed clothes, a hint of satisfaction appeared in his eyes. He said with a faint smile, "What do you want to eat? I'll take you out."

"Anything's fine," Margaret replied dismissively.

Margaret loved Mexican food.

So Raymond found a Mexican restaurant.

To avoid any disturbances, he booked the entire place.

All the waiters were at their service.

He ordered a table full of delicious dishes.

Margaret was indeed hungry and ate in silence.

She didn't say a word to Raymond, not even looking at him.

He must have felt guilty and tried to ease the tension by serving her food.

But she didn't want to ease the tension and threw the food he served her into the trash right in front of him.

"I really went to handle work. Can't you believe me for once?" Raymond sounded a bit annoyed.

He was swamped with work at the Hughes Group, but he still dropped everything to accompany her on this trip.

But she had been giving him the cold shoulder since they boarded the plane.

Raymond couldn't understand why she was so upset.

She was the one who came to him seeking cooperation, and she had agreed to follow the contract. So why couldn't she even give him a smile?

Margaret had been trying not to think about the afternoon's events, but his bringing it up again made her feel like a fool being played by him!

"Could you stop talking while eating?" she snapped, her tone harsh.

"Margaret, have I been too good to you? Is that why you dare to talk to me like this?" Raymond laughed angrily. He had a bad stomach and couldn't eat spicy food.

He went out of his way to eat with her, and she didn't appreciate it?

For her, he even had Sarah marry another guy!

He had done so much for her. What more did she want?

Moreover, there were two lives standing between them! For him to back down this much was already rare.

But Margaret was becoming more and more unreasonable, not understanding him at all.

In the past, if he spoke like this, she would have softened and coaxed him.

But now, Margaret kept eating her food, her tone still dismissive, "Whatever you say."

"Margaret."

"Don't talk while eating," Margaret cut him off impatiently.

After they finished eating, they headed back to the presidential suite.

Margaret asked him, "Are you sleeping on the couch, or am I?"

"We haven't even divorced. Why do we have to sleep apart?"

"You've been giving me a hard time for over a year, and I'm fed up with it." Margaret rolled her eyes, tiredly saying, "Forget it, I'll sleep on the couch."

She didn't want to argue with him, couldn't be bothered to engage in a pointless debate.

She was about to leave the master bedroom.

Raymond pulled her back, and she saw the raging anger in his eyes.

It was clear he was trying hard to control himself.

"Margaret, you're going too far."

Margaret gave him a mocking smile.

Her smile stung his eyes. "What's so funny?"

Seeing him constantly picking on her, Margaret directly took out her phone, found the photo she had taken, and shoved it in his face. "Your work is to bring your mistress along while we're on vacation? Your work is to help your mistress with her luggage and lie through your teeth? Raymond, I'm just too lazy to argue, do you understand? If we lay everything out, won't you feel embarrassed?"

"Sarah is not my mistress!" He caught onto that point.

Margaret laughed. He was hung up on that? After everything she said?

He really was determined to protect Sarah to the end.

Margaret realized she was like a clown.

She pulled her wrist free, rubbing her aching wrist. "Yes, I'm the one ruining your relationship. You two are true love. Sorry for wasting your time for so many years! You should go on vacation with her, I don't need you!"

After saying that, she walked out of the master bedroom.

Her wrist was grabbed by him again, and he said, "That's not what I meant! There's nothing between Sarah and me!"

"I saw you enter her room this afternoon! What else could you two be doing together besides having sex?"

"Listen to me!" Raymond's face turned red, a hint of urgency in his eyes.

Margaret laughed bitterly and interrupted, "I showed you this photo not because I have any illusions about you or want to hear your explanation! I just don't want to see you pretending anymore. I'm sick of your charade."

"Margaret, say that again!" He gritted his teeth.

Margaret said with a sneer, "I can say it as many times as you want! Raymond, we can't be together anymore! I don't love you anymore! We're just in a contractual relationship! Once I give birth to this child, we'll be done with this chapter! I don't care about you and Sarah!"

Raymond was stunned. She said she didn't care about him anymore?

She didn't love him anymore?

Raymond felt a bit panicked, a bit angry, and a bit at a loss. His explanation seemed weak and powerless, "I'll say it one last time! It's not what you saw! What do I have to say for you to believe me?"
