Chapter 225 Possess Her Completely

Marlon's eyes were a mix of confusion, worry, and helplessness as he sobbed and gestured wildly at Margaret.

Margaret could tell Marlon was really worried about her.

Honestly, she wasn't sure if she could convince Raymond to take Marlon back.

But she pushed down her anxiety, patted Marlon's hand, and said softly, "Dad, don't stress anymore. You've worried enough for a lifetime. Let me handle this. No matter what, I'm bringing you back to the Hughes Family today."

Marlon looked at her with a sense of relief.

"Wait for my good news, okay?" Margaret said with a smile.

He nodded.

After comforting Marlon, Margaret left the ward.

She didn't call Raymond because she knew something like this couldn't be explained over the phone.

Afraid he might hang up on her again, she decided to talk to him in person.

Before heading to the Hughes Group, she took a cab to Raymond's favorite restaurant.

They used to eat there a lot during college.

After they got married and things went south, she never went back.

The restaurant was doing great, even better than when she was in school.

It had expanded from one storefront to three, and there was a long line.

Margaret stood at the end of the line, waiting.

She waited for an hour, her feet aching, and finally, it was her turn.

The restaurant owner recognized her, exchanged a few pleasantries, and handed her the hot food, jokingly asking, "Miss, did you marry your boyfriend?"

Margaret nodded.

"Then you must have kids by now, right?" The owner asked with a smile.

Margaret was momentarily dazed. If it weren't for all the troubles, they probably would have had kids by now.

"Not yet," she replied.

"You young folks can have fun for a few more years; there's no rush to have kids. Miss, I wish you and your husband a lifetime of happiness. Bring your whole family to support my business then."

Such a beautiful blessing and desirable life, but only Margaret knew it was a dream that would never come true.

Margaret took the food he handed her, thanked him warmly, then scanned the code to pay, and went to the neighboring store to buy a cup of Raymond's favorite latte.

He must be really tired from work, and a coffee would help.

Margaret didn't know if what she was doing was pointless.

She had done similar things before to please him, but he wouldn't even look at the food she made herself and threw straight into the trash.

She didn't know if he would do the same and throw the food away.

Margaret took a cab straight to the Hughes Group.

Logically, since Raymond hated the Hughes Family so much, why didn't he rename the Hughes Group to the Howard Group?

This was something Margaret didn't understand.

Later she thought, a name was just a label. He had taken over the entire Hughes Group, so the name didn't matter.

At the Hughes Group, everyone was busy with their work.

Margaret, carrying the food in one hand and the slightly hot latte in the other, walked through the CEO's office area.

Alvin happened to come out of the CEO's office and was surprised to see Margaret with those things. "Mrs. Howard, what brings you here?"

In his impression, Margaret rarely came to the Hughes Group, except for the time right after they got married.

She hadn't come much since then, unless Raymond asked her to.

Margaret pursed her lips. "Where's Raymond? I need to talk to him."

"He's in his office."

"Okay, I'll go find him," Margaret said, about to walk away.

Alvin called her back, hesitated, and looked at her. Margaret frowned in confusion. "Alvin, is there something else you want to say?"

"Mr. Howard is in a bad mood because of an investment case. Be careful with your words. If it's not urgent, Mrs. Howard, you might want to wait until he's calmed down." Alvin looked at her worriedly, then added, "If you trust me, Mrs. Howard, I can relay the message for you."

Margaret sighed, thinking it was really unfortunate that Raymond was in a bad mood now.

'If I ask him now, would he be kind to me?' she thought to herself.

Margaret was very grateful to Alvin for his concern.

But getting Marlon discharged was a big deal.

It wasn't that she didn't trust Alvin, but this matter couldn't be delayed.

This was the first time Marlon had asked her for something, and she had no reason not to fulfill his wish.

"Thank you, Alvin. But I think it's better if I talk to him myself. Don't worry, I know what to say." Margaret smiled, then turned and walked to the CEO's office.

The office door was tightly closed. She knocked on the door, but no one called her in.

Logically, she shouldn't have barged in.

But she had no choice.

Margaret turned the doorknob and pushed the door open.

Raymond, in a white shirt and black tie, was casually sitting in his chair.

He was smoking, with a thin layer of anger on his face.

Margaret met his gaze for a few seconds, then looked down at the floor, which was littered with scattered folders.

She closed the office door, walking to the desk, and placed the food and latte in front of him. "Your favorite, eat it while it's hot."

Raymond extinguished his cigarette, got up, and opened the office window, then turned on the air conditioner for ventilation.

He turned around and saw Margaret bending down to pick up the scattered folders on the floor.

Raymond's expression softened a lot, but he was surprised; this was the first time she had come to please him.

"Why are you so angry?" Margaret organized the folders and placed them on the desk.

Raymond said expressionlessly, "Too many work troubles."

"If there are many things, just do them one by one. There will always be an end," Margaret looked at the folders on the desk and murmured.

She was talking to him, but also encouraging herself.

Her waist was suddenly grabbed, and he buried his face into Margaret's neck, his warm breath falling on her neck and chest.

He seemed to be in a much better mood, lightly biting her earlobe. "Why did you suddenly think of caring for me?"

Margaret's body stiffened, and she blinked. She cared for him with ulterior motives. But how should she bring it up?

With a swish, he pressed a button on the remote, and the blinds on the office walls came down.

Before Margaret could react, he grabbed her waist and placed her on the desk. His big hand slid up her skirt. Raymond was really pleased that she had come to him, thinking, 'Did she figure it out last night and decide to give in and stop being angry?'

He was not just angry about the investment case; he was more upset about her crying when he touched her last night.

But now, seeing Margaret, really in front of him, coming to him on her own, and bringing his favorite food, he couldn't be mad at her.

The only thought left in Raymond's mind was to possess her completely.
