Chapter 460 Completely Different

The watch was the same brand as the one Margaret had given him. He never took it off, not even during their worst fights.

That was until Margaret was kidnapped by a client manager and fell off a cliff. The watch was replaced, and he tried to fix it, but it was declared beyond repair.

This watch was the same model as the one she had given him.

Even more coincidentally, it was identical to the watch on his right hand, the one Margaret had given him after she miraculously survived a jump from a building.

Raymond was puzzled. How could this woman know the brand and model of the watch Margaret had given him? Such a personal detail.

But he remained expressionless. The cigarette between his fingers burned down to ash, scorching his hand, snapping him back to reality.

He looked up at the woman sitting just a desk away. Her eyes were red, tears streaming down her face, as if he were truly her man.

Margaret, noticing his silence, hurriedly said, "I can prove I'm Margaret, Raymond. Do you remember? When we were in school, I chased after you, but you ignored me. It was snowing then too. I pretended to fall, hoping you'd help me up. But you didn't even look back and just walked away."

She continued, "And you never wanted to show affection in public. I dragged you shopping, pretended to sprain my ankle so you'd carry me. You didn't want to, but the crowd egged you on, so you did. We always ran into each other in the library, the lecture halls. I remember everything from back then."

But he sneered, "Aren't these things common knowledge? Anyone could find out with a bit of effort."

He still didn't believe her!

Margaret's eyes widened, her nails digging into her pale skin. She was relentless, continuing to explain. Tears fell from her cheeks like a broken string of pearls.

"Once, you promised to take me to the movies! But you backed out, wanting to attend a lecture by your favorite professor. I was so mad, I went with a classmate who was pursuing me, took a picture of the movie tickets, and posted it to provoke you. I even had meals with him, went to classes together, but you still didn't react. I was furious. That classmate even gave me flowers and confessed, but you still wouldn't give in. I was ready to never speak to you again, but when I returned to the dorm, there you were, standing coldly inside. You punished me harshly, no matter how much I cried or begged, you wouldn't forgive me. You vowed to love me eternally."

"Raymond, do you want me to continue? When we were intimate, you always made me cry. You didn't like using protection, you liked smoking. Every time I made you angry, you'd use that to punish me, forcing me to apologize and obey. We were the closest to each other. You were different when making love and when working. You still don't believe I'm Margaret?"

"Raymond, I lost my memory, but I still remember you. I remember our moments together. A parrot came to find me. It's very smart and can talk. Every time I was sad, seeing you take wedding photos with another woman and crying my heart out, it would mimic your voice, saying, 'Raymond, you're a jerk.'"

"I was heartbroken. I didn't understand why you couldn't recognize me. Even the parrot could recognize me and knew my name was Margaret. We shared a bed for so long, how could you not remember my breath? My scent? Do you only remember my face? Raymond, if someone had plastic surgery to look like you, I would still recognize you among thousands of identical faces and bring you home."

Margaret's words became more incoherent, her eyes stinging with tears. She looked at the man in the leather chair, tears flowing uncontrollably. "Little Mute! Raymond, do you remember Little Mute?"

Raymond's eyes narrowed slightly.

He instantly extinguished the cigarette in the ashtray.

"Little Mute was an orphan I sponsored years ago. Do you know who Little Mute is?"

"I don't want to know who Little Mute is." Raymond's expression changed slightly, cutting her off.

Margaret was stunned. He didn't want to know who Little Mute was?

She wondered, 'Raymond, Little Mute is you. Do you know your identity as Little Mute? Do you know that Sarah has been impersonating me and taking credit for my sponsorship all these years?'

She wanted to reveal the truth. "I've been looking for Little Mute for a long time. Daniel has already found him. He's not dead, he's alive and well. Raymond, did you hear me? Little Mute isn't dead."

Raymond noticed that whenever she mentioned Little Mute, her eyes sparkled.

He felt a surge of irritation.

He unbuttoned the top button of his black shirt.

"Little Mute is—"

"Are you done? I said I'm not interested in this person." Raymond coldly and harshly interrupted, mocking her.

He had already figured it out. The woman in front of him was Margaret.

Because only Margaret would get so emotional and lose control when talking about Little Mute.

So Little Mute wasn't dead.

And she was so happy about it?

A sharp pang of jealousy stabbed through Raymond—sour, bitter, twisting his gut with emotions he couldn't name.

Didn't she see his efforts for her? His hair had turned white for her.

Margaret was stunned by his strong reaction for a few seconds.

Was he jealous?

Margaret blinked, wanting to explain that Little Mute wasn't important to her, that the only person she loved was Raymond.

They were supposed to take wedding photos, get married, and spend their lives together.

"Raymond—" Margaret murmured.

Raymond looked at the watch on his right hand, impatiently glancing at her: "Miss, time is up."

Margaret saw him pick up the phone and dial an extension.

Then the door to the CEO's office opened.

Alvin and a few security guards filed in.

Including Sarah.

"Throw this imposter to the police!" Raymond coldly looked at Margaret, mocking her.

Margaret felt a chill run through her body. She thought she had misheard.

After saying so much, he responded by telling them to throw her to the police?

But she hadn't finished saying what she most wanted to say, hadn't exposed Sarah's true face!

Margaret stared at Raymond's handsome face, tears streaming down her face: "Raymond, did I say all that for nothing?"
