Chapter 317 Die Together

Margaret had just finished speaking when she saw the panic in Raymond's eyes.

Margaret smiled at him, just like the first time they met, during freshman orientation, with a bright smile.

This was also the first time in a year that Margaret had smiled so freely at Raymond. "Let go. Let me go to heaven and reunite with my parents."

Raymond had once longed to see Margaret smile at him like this because it had been so long since he had seen her smile this way. She could never talk to him properly!

But now, seeing her smile like this, he felt an inexplicable panic. "Margaret, stop saying things like that! Now is not the time for your nonsense! When we get back, you can do whatever you want!"

The current Margaret was like a flower about to fall into the dirt, without any life.

Raymond was scared, and he held onto Margaret's rope, pulling her up.

"Haven't you always wished for my death? Let go, and once I'm dead, everything will be over. You can be with Sarah forever."

"Margaret, who do you think you are? Do you know who the woman I love is?" Raymond glared at her, growling, "Don't think you know everything!"

In fact, Margaret knew nothing!

The woman he loved the most was Margaret.

The woman he wanted to be with forever was also Margaret.

He never thought about divorce.

Maybe he had once. But now, he didn't want to, not at all.

He wanted her to give birth to their child, he wanted to find the Margaret he once loved.

"Who else could you love besides Sarah?" Margaret sneered.

Raymond blurted out, "The woman I love is actually..."

"It doesn't matter who it is! Raymond! I don't want to know anymore, and I don't care to know!" Margaret interrupted him wearily.

She had once held onto a glimmer of hope, wanting him to change his mind.

She used a magnifying glass to find details, evidence that he still cared about her!

So she risked her safety to go to Ironwood Lane to find the truth. She wanted to prove to him that she loved him and could understand him.

She even fantasized that he would let go of his hatred for her sake, forgive the Hughes Family, and let everything return to how it was a year ago.

But all she found was proof that he didn't love her.

If he did, he wouldn't have cursed her to die over and over again.

He wouldn't have prepared an urn for her in advance.

How much must he hate her to prepare an urn for her in advance?

Her glimmer of hope had been completely extinguished with her parents' death.

Margaret finally saw the reality that Raymond didn't love her.

He didn't care about her at all, otherwise, it wouldn't have come to this.

She had overestimated her place in his heart.

"Margaret, shut up!" Raymond's vision was already blurry, and he saw multiple images of Margaret.

Cold sweat was dripping from his forehead as he couldn't muster any strength in his hands.

The rope holding Margaret's wrist suddenly slipped down a bit.

Raymond quickly grabbed the end of the rope.

"Let go, or we'll both fall. You've worked so hard to get to where you are today, you should value your life!"

"The urn you bought for me can finally be put to use!" Margaret said with a smile.

Raymond was annoyed by her talking as if she were giving her last words. "Margaret, can you be quiet!"

As she was about to die and this was the last goodbye, he didn't have the patience to listen.

'Raymond, if you want to hear me speak in the future, I won't be able to.' She thought.

Margaret's lips curled into a bitter smile: "If you still care about our marriage, please bury me with my parents. I want to find them. If you bury me far away, I won't be able to find them."

"Margaret, I told you to shut up! Now is not the time to be emotional! Your parents are dead, and so are mine! You're just going through what I went through!"

Raymond glared at her impatiently: "Do you want to be like your dad? Facing some trouble and wanting to die? If I had your mentality, should I have died when your dad burned my parents to death?"

"Margaret, what do I have to say for you to understand?! You're not a child anymore! You're in your twenties! Your family wronged me first, your dad's death has nothing to do with me, the truth has been found out! I let you stay as Mrs. Howard, shouldn't you be grateful? Many people want to be Mrs. Howard, don't you know how to cherish it!"

Margaret blinked her dry eyes, thinking he was back to being impatient.

Even for the last time, she wanted to have a calm conversation with him before dying, but he wasn't willing!

"So, I should thank you for taking revenge and still keeping the daughter of your enemy?" Margaret asked with a smile.

Raymond frowned. "You're twisting my words again, aren't you? Margaret, why are you always like this? From birth, life is a lonely journey! Born alone, die alone, everyone else is just a passerby! Your parents will leave you eventually! Even if not because of me, they would die of old age! You're pregnant with my child, you should focus on your pregnancy and live your life!"

"You're not an orphan! You have me and our child! I really don't know what you're doing now! If you're bored, you can get a job and experience the hardships of working!"

Margaret's throat felt dry as the bitterness, like a lead block, was something she couldn't swallow or spit out.

It turned out they could never understand each other.

They couldn't communicate, no matter what she said or did, he always thought she was being unreasonable.

Bound by her feet and legs, Evelyn rolled her eyes, a sinister look in her eyes, inching towards Raymond's back.

Raymond was unaware. If it were any other time, he could easily pull Margaret up because she was so frail, and he had been her bodyguard, with some strength.

But his hand had been injured by Evelyn with a machete, cutting to the bone. He felt like he could collapse at any moment, but he was holding on, waiting for Alvin to bring help.

"Hold on!" Raymond gritted his teeth, his legs grinding in the snow, pulling the rope up.

Suddenly, a pair of legs kicked his back, and Raymond, along with Margaret, fell into the abyss.

"Dragging it out! I'll send you both to die together!" Evelyn cursed impatiently, watching the two fall into the abyss.
