Chapter 291 Aren't You Afraid I'll Die with You?
'Do you know that you're not divorced yet? I'm still sitting here, aren't I?' Margaret thought.
She gripped the phone on the table tightly, almost blurting out these words.
But what right did she have to interfere with him? They were married but not in love. He was still the murderer of Marlon.
'Margaret, are you crazy? How can you be so pathetic? You should be wishing for Raymond to die, to go to jail, not feeling jealous.' With that thought, Margaret instantly sobered up and shifted her gaze away from Raymond.
She was very tired today and feared Raymond would start another argument, especially in front of Joseph, which would be quite undignified.
"Joseph, I'm heading back." Margaret smiled slightly at Joseph, who was sitting across from her in a suit, and then got up to leave.
Raymond saw that her smile was directed at Joseph, not at him.
He couldn't describe the feeling in his heart; he just felt angry, jealous, and irritable.
Raymond blocked Margaret's path with his body and handed her the car keys. "Go drive."
"I'm busy. Why don't you let her drive you back?" Margaret didn't take the keys and responded coldly.
Raymond's face darkened even more.
Evelyn laughed behind him. "Mr. Howard, if she's busy, it's fine. I'm free; I can drive you back. I'm really good at it."
Margaret sneered inwardly, thinking that the skill Evelyn was referring to probably wasn't driving. It was more likely the skill of seduction.
Raymond looked intently at Margaret. "Are you sure you want to argue with me here?"
Margaret pressed her lips together, very angry.
She was really upset with his high-handed, commanding attitude.
She wanted to retort, 'Raymond, who do you think you are? You're just a murderer. How dare you treat me like this?'
Margaret looked over and saw Evelyn smirking provocatively at her.
Evelyn seemed to be mocking her for being a plain and insignificant person.
She remembered Evelyn's earlier taunt, "He doesn't like my type, but he likes yours?"
Evelyn's tone was mocking, as if she saw Margaret as a rival.
Margaret couldn't swallow this insult and wanted to put Evelyn in her place.
She hesitated, then reached out and took the keychain from Raymond's fingers.
The keys were cold in her palm.
Margaret took her phone and went to the front desk to pay the bill.
She needed a favor from Joseph, so it was only right to pay.
"That guest has already paid," The front desk told Margaret.
Margaret turned her head and saw Joseph and Evelyn walking over.
"Joseph, I'll treat you next time," Margaret said, pressing her lips together.
Raymond looked a bit impatient, perhaps because he had been drinking, his face was even more flushed.
He easily got flushed when he drank, which was why he usually didn't drink.
Joseph was about to say something when Raymond impatiently interrupted, "Hurry up and drive, why so much nonsense?"
Margaret suppressed the urge to argue with him, the car keys in her palm felt uncomfortable.
She remembered this was a public place and didn't want to make a scene in front of Joseph and Evelyn.
Margaret walked out of the restaurant.
A few minutes later, Margaret skillfully drove the car over.
She saw Raymond talking to Joseph about something.
A sudden thought crossed Margaret's mind, 'Could Joseph have a boss behind him? Could the boss be Raymond?'
She took out her phone and searched for information about Joseph again. Joseph did have several companies under his name, but none were related to Raymond. It seemed she was overthinking.
She put down her phone and looked up, seeing that they were still talking.
Margaret didn't have the patience to wait any longer and honked the horn.
The horn was loud and piercing, but she honked more than once.
Raymond's cold gaze turned to Margaret in the driver's seat, then he walked down the steps towards her.
It was rare that it didn't snow today. The warm, golden sunlight fell on Raymond.
He looked like a deity, attracting all eyes.
Despite all the harm he had done to her, she still found herself drawn to him when she saw him.
Margaret averted her gaze.
Raymond opened the passenger door and got in, then he closed the door.
The pressure inside the car suddenly increased.
Raymond extended his long fingers and opened the window.
His fingers were beautiful, Margaret admitted they were much more attractive than hers.
Raymond leaned back in the passenger seat and took off his gray coat.
He rolled up the sleeves of his black shirt.
Then he reached up to loosen his tie, took it off, and unbuttoned the top two buttons of his shirt.
His sexy collarbone was exposed to the air.
And more importantly, it was exposed to Margaret's view.
Margaret frowned even more tightly, seeing him suddenly act crazy. "If you want to go crazy, find another woman."
He had drunk a bit and felt stifled, a bit oppressed, so he loosened his tie and unbuttoned his shirt.
And she was pushing him away? Did Margaret have no possessiveness towards him anymore? Seeing him dine with Evelyn, did she not get angry at all?
"What do you mean?" Raymond's tone was very calm, with a hint of mockery and ridicule.
His mind was very clear, even though he was slightly tipsy, he knew exactly what he was doing.
Margaret said, "Nothing!"
"Drive. Home." Raymond ordered.
Margaret glanced at the rearview mirror and saw that Evelyn had already walked away.
She then unbuckled her seatbelt, intending to open the door and get out.
But Raymond locked the door before she could. "I told you to drive."
"I'll get a driver for you, or have Sarah come pick you up." Margaret took out her phone, looking for Sarah's number.
Raymond's face turned extremely grim. He snatched her phone away and, suppressing his anger, said, "I told you to drive, Margaret. Are you deaf?"
"You should call Sarah."
"Margaret, do you still want your dad's will?" Raymond easily hit her weak spot.
Margaret's eyes instantly reddened at his words.
So Raymond had stolen the safe from Marlon's study to threaten her. Before, he used Marlon's medical expenses to threaten her, and now he was using the letter.
Realizing Raymond was really heartless, Margaret's nose felt sour, and her eyes turned red.
But for Marlon's letter, she had to suppress the bitterness in her heart bit by bit.
"Raymond, you killed my dad, and you still dare to sit in a car I'm driving. Aren't you afraid I'll crash the car and die with you?" Margaret suddenly sneered. She could have a breakdown at any moment, and letting her drive was like gambling with their lives.
