Chapter 308 Do You Still Have This Attitude Towards Me?

Raymond laughed in anger, but his eyes were filled with ice.

He was here to talk about living a good life with her.

He wanted to return the safe he took from Marlon's study, then have her listen, give birth to their child, and then go abroad, find a place, and start over as a family.

Forget the hatred and these unhappy things now.

His gaze swept over Margaret's pale cheeks, her forehead even wrapped in gauze, with spots of blood seeping through.

Raymond's heart softened instantly. How could she be so careless? He remembered her forehead was fine in the courtroom.

His long fingers unconsciously reached for Margaret's forehead.

Margaret suddenly stepped back.

Raymond's fingers grasped at the air, hanging awkwardly in mid-air.

"If you're not here to talk about the lawsuit, then get out!" Margaret looked at him coldly and indifferently.

Raymond could no longer contain his anger. He stepped forward and grabbed Margaret's wrist fiercely. "The truth is all clear, and you still have this attitude towards me?"

"Let go of me," Margaret struggled.

Raymond glared at her coldly. "Do you know why I'm here today? Hmm?"

"I don't want to know! Let go of me!" Margaret roared.

Raymond dragged Margaret to the coffee table.

He grabbed the phone on the coffee table, opened it, found the photo Hubert had sent him, enlarged it, and shoved it in Margaret's face. "How do you explain this? Hmm?"

Margaret was stunned when she saw the photo.

In the photo, she and Daniel indeed looked very intimate from that angle.

Who took this photo secretly, or was she being monitored by Raymond?

She had just experienced a stampede outside the courthouse, almost getting trampled to death by a bunch of media.

And he left with Sarah, leaving her there.

Since she came back, he hadn't asked about her injuries, nor had he cared about her, only questioning and distrust.

Margaret looked away from the photo, raised her eyelids, and finally locked her gaze on his handsome features. "The media today, you arranged them, didn't you?"

Raymond hesitated for two seconds, then admitted. "Yes."

The Hughes Group's stock price had been falling, and he needed a victory to bring the stock price back up.

He had no idea what Margaret had gone through, so he answered lightly, not even thinking there was anything wrong with what he did.

Margaret was so angry at his honesty that she laughed.

Her eyes instantly reddened.

"Get out!" Margaret seemed to be provoked, shook off his wrist, grabbed the ashtray on the coffee table, and smashed it on the ground with a clang.

That was Raymond's favorite ashtray, now rolling on the carpet and shattered, just like their marriage, long broken beyond repair.

"You and Daniel have no boundaries at all. And you want me to get out?" Raymond squinted his eyes and suddenly smiled.

Margaret pushed Raymond towards the staircase. "Get out, get out of my sight. I don't want to see you."

"Then who do you want to see? Daniel?"

"Anyone but you," Margaret said.

At these words, Raymond shook off Margaret's pushing arm, looked at her coldly for a long moment, then said hoarsely, "Margaret, you're too much."

Then he brushed past Margaret's shoulder, went to the living room sofa to get his suit jacket, and went downstairs with a cold face.

Margaret watched his departing back, her nose tingling, and tears instantly welled up in her eyes.

So those reporters were indeed arranged by him. Was the stampede also his doing? Did he really want her dead so badly? Why went to such lengths?

She was already a terminal liver cancer patient, with only a few days left to live.

Raymond had harmed her more than once, deliberately reporting Ashley for taking her money, causing Ashley to lose her job at the hospital, and then forcing Ashley to drive and hit her.

If Ashley hadn't suddenly changed her mind, she thought she would have been long gone from this world.

The second time was in Silverwood,

He uncharacteristically wanted to take her to Silverwood for a trip, saying it would improve her mood and help her sleep.

But he had Sarah try to kill her.

Today was the third time.

She didn't die, so there would probably be a fourth, a fifth.

Margaret covered her mouth, tears streaming down.

The phone ringing broke the rare silence.

Margaret wiped her tears, went back to the living room, and picked up her phone.

Seeing an unfamiliar number, she didn't think much and answered the call.

A woman was crying on the other end, begging Margaret for help, to save her and her family.

Margaret didn't understand. "You have the wrong number."

Just as she was about to hang up, Evelyn hurriedly said, "Mrs. Howard, I didn't dial the wrong number. It's me, the client manager Mr. Howard asked to apologize to you recently."

Margaret then remembered, that it was when she had dinner with Joseph and ran into Raymond and Evelyn socializing, and Evelyn mocked her.

"Mrs. Howard, you are a kind person, please help me. My boss has given a death order, if I can't get Mr. Howard to change his mind and continue working with Horizon Enterprise tonight, I will face huge compensation. Mrs. Howard, as a woman, I can't come up with that much money even if I sell myself."

"Please show me a way, say a few good words for me in front of Mr. Howard, I will remember your kindness. Please, my daughter is only three years old, and my husband is about to divorce me. Save me, only you can save me."

Evelyn, who was usually arrogant, was now crying pitifully on the phone.

Margaret suddenly felt that everyone in the world was suffering.

She felt a bit sorry for Evelyn. "I really can't help you, but there is someone who can, you might want to try."

"Who? Please, Mrs. Howard, tell me," Evelyn said excitedly.

Margaret said, "Sarah, she is now hospitalized at Silverbrook Hospital. She is much more influential than I am. Whether she helps you or not depends on your ability."

"Okay, okay, thank you, Mrs. Howard. I will go find her right away. You are such a good person, good things will happen to you."

Margaret didn't respond and hung up.

But Margaret didn't know that meddling would only make things worse for her, and Evelyn would soon teach her that lesson.

But people only grow after experiencing things.

Evelyn found out Sarah's ward number and brought the luxury purses and scarves she had bought for Margaret, giving them to Sarah, hoping Sarah would help her say a few good words in front of Raymond.

Sarah played with the luxury purse in her hand. It was the latest model, and she had been eyeing it for a while, but she couldn't bring herself to buy it. Because Raymond was also keeping his distance from her, she couldn't find a man to spend that much money on her.

So she was eager to marry Raymond, also for a better material life.

Moreover, she lacked an excuse to get close to Raymond, and Evelyn's coming to her gave her just that excuse.

"I'll try, but don't get your hopes up too high. I know Raymond's temperament very well. Once he makes a decision, it's hard to change," Sarah said, pretending to be reserved and aloof.
