Chapter 482 Finally Awaited This Day
Finally, the day had come.
From now on, no one would know about the terrible things she had done. No one would threaten her, hold anything over her, or force her to do things she didn't want to do.
The knife in Sarah's hand suddenly dropped.
She staggered back a few steps, laughing with excitement. "This is great, really great. From now on, no one can stand in my way."
As she laughed, sadness welled up inside her.
Large tears streamed from her reddened eyes.
The bitterness and pain she had endured along the way made her unable to hold back her tears.
A purple lightning bolt exploded in the sky outside the dilapidated factory.
Then she heard the pattering of raindrops falling on the factory's asbestos roof.
Rain was beneficial; it was wonderful, cleansing the world of all its impurities.
When the rain stopped, the sun would come out. When the sun came out, her miserable, absurd life would completely die tonight, and tomorrow would bring a new dawn.
From now on, she, Sarah, would only be Raymond's wife. They would love each other, grow old together, get married, and have children.
Thinking of this, Sarah smirked, extending her slender fingers to wipe away the tears on her cheeks, "Sarah, don't cry. Success always requires stepping stones. You've succeeded; you are the ultimate victor."
The sound of leather shoes splashing in puddles reached her ears.
Sarah panicked instantly. At this hour, why would anyone come?
She couldn't be discovered.
She hurried to Hubert's corpse, intending to drag it away and hide it.
Her fingertips touched his arm, cold beyond belief.
Bright red blood stained her fingers and clothes everywhere.
He was heavy, too heavy to move.
At that moment, a group of bodyguards in black suits and sunglasses filed in.
Sarah was stunned, her mind unable to react.
Several bodyguards grabbed her, and soon her arms were tightly held behind her by two of them, causing her pain as she struggled in vain.
"Who are you? Do you know who I am? How dare you treat me like this?" Sarah forced herself to stay calm, slowly curling her lips into a smile, coldly scanning the group of bodyguards surrounding her.
The bodyguards remained silent.
"I am Raymond's fiancée. Let me go immediately, or you'll regret it." Sarah thought using Raymond's name would make the bodyguards tremble in fear.
But it had no effect.
They didn't even glance at her, treating her like a clown.
"I'm Raymond's woman. You know Raymond, right?" Sarah continued to pressure them, "We're about to get engaged. Can you afford to mess with me?"
"Be quiet." A cold, angry voice came from outside.
Sarah looked up.
She saw Alvin, dressed in a suit, walking in. Behind him, several bodyguards were pushing a few people, but she couldn't see clearly.
"Alvin, you're just in time. Tell them who I am." Sarah's eyes lit up when she saw Alvin.
Alvin squinted, walked over, and stood in front of her, asking with a mocking smile, "What a coincidence, running into Ms. Martinez here."
"What Ms. Martinez?" Sarah's eyelids twitched, her eyelashes trembling in fear, nervously swallowing. Could Alvin know her identity?
No, impossible.
She must have misheard, or he was trying to scare her.
Even if he knew, as long as she denied it in front of Raymond, they had no evidence, and it would be a dead end.
Thinking of this, Sarah calmed down a bit, "Alvin, that's not funny. I'm Margaret, how could I be Ms. Martinez?"
Alvin smiled silently, his expression revealing both insight and disdain.
In Sarah's mind, Alvin was just a servant, Raymond's dog. Once she became Raymond's wife, she would fire Alvin.
But now was not the time to pick a fight.
"Alvin, we've confessed, why won't you let us go?"
The voice sounded strangely familiar.
Sarah trembled in fear upon hearing it.
She looked up and saw the men being restrained by the bodyguards standing in front of Alvin.
These men were the ones who had just beaten Hubert. She had given them a card, telling them to drive away overnight.
How had they ended up in Alvin's hands?
Sarah couldn't stay calm anymore, her expression changing slightly as she glared at the men, growling, "What are you doing here?"
The men hadn't responded yet.
Alvin smiled at her, "What? You know them?"
"No, no," Sarah quickly denied, adding, "How could I know such scum?"
Her words angered the men, as no one liked being called trash.
"You woman, how can you turn on us so quickly? You just gave us that card, and now you say you don't know us? Scum? You're no better; you're a murderer." The men retorted.
Sarah was furious, afraid Alvin would suspect her, glaring at the men, "Shut up. I'm Raymond's future wife. Think carefully before you speak."
"Alvin, you have to believe me. I really don't know them." Sarah looked at Alvin, explaining.
Alvin sneered, "Ms. Martinez, you should think about how to explain to Mr. Howard later."
As he finished speaking, footsteps approached.
Everyone present looked over.
A bodyguard held a large umbrella, and Raymond, tall and broad-shouldered, walked over, his black suit exuding an air of nobility.
He walked with long strides, surrounded by bodyguards.
But his gaze was cold, and he exuded a sense of menace.
One bodyguard closed the umbrella, another brought a chair and placed it behind Raymond.
He sat down, and Alvin approached respectfully, "Mr. Howard."
Raymond's face was expressionless, his long fingers touching his chin, his arm resting on the chair's armrest, his cold eyes scanning every corner of the dilapidated factory.
Hubert's lifeless body in the pool of blood made him frown slightly.
He then looked at the crowd of bodyguards.
Finally, his gaze fell on Sarah, whose arms were held by bodyguards. He squinted, not speaking.
Sarah thought Raymond was still the man she had deceived. Upon seeing him, she cried out in relief, "Raymond, help me!"
