Chapter 548 He Is Jealous (Part 2)
Outside the Taylor Group building.
A bright red convertible sports car was parked at the entrance, surrounded by a group of fans held back by security. The fans were screaming loudly at Gerald.
Lyric's head was pounding. She couldn't understand why they had to be so crazy. Her ears were about to explode!
Gerald, looking dashing, slipped his hand into the pocket of his white dress pants and leaned forward.
They were very, very close.
A pair of large sunglasses covered half of his face.
He handed her a stunning red rose.
She hesitated a bit.
Gerald moved even closer, and the fans screamed even louder. "What's going on? Why is my idol being so enthusiastic with this girl?"
"Ms. Vaughn, Daniel is watching us from across the street. Play along," he whispered in her ear, and the scent of his cologne filled her nose.
Only the two of them could hear his voice.
This scene, seen by Daniel from across the street, made him inexplicably irritated.
Gerald was giving Lyric flowers?
When did they start getting involved?
Daniel saw Della hesitate slightly but still accept the rose.
Then Gerald took her hand and, under the watchful eyes of the crowd, led her to the bright red convertible, opened the passenger door, and gentlemanly invited her to sit.
And she didn't refuse.
She knew what sitting in the passenger seat meant.
Daniel could only assume that Gerald was trying to pursue Della!
He thought this tragic Della was like those women in the entertainment industry?
Daniel laughed angrily and sped away.
Gerald, wanting to impress Lyric, chose a particularly upscale restaurant. The people who came here were either rich or powerful.
Gerald had booked the entire place and ordered a bunch of her favorite dishes. Lyric usually liked this restaurant too, but she had been pretending to be poor to get close to Daniel and hadn't eaten here in a long time.
She ate heartily, while Gerald took off his sunglasses, revealing his perfectly chiseled face, and casually placed them on the table.
Then he picked some of the best-looking dishes, dipped them in plain water, and ate them.
"What's the point of eating like that?" Lyric took a sip of her drink.
Gerald gave a charming smile. "Gotta keep up appearances. How was it, Ms. Vaughn? Did I embarrass you just now?"
"You don't have to call me that. Just call me Lyric." Lyric frowned.
Gerald smiled and explained, "Your friend and I are very good friends. In my eyes, you hold a high position. So, showing some respect is no problem."
"Thanks for today. I'll pay for this meal as a thank you."
"I'm a big star. How can I let you pay for my meal? If word gets out, how will I keep my dignity in the entertainment industry?" He was clearly unwilling.
Lyric said, "Just play your role well. I don't need you to pay for this meal. Be good."
"Ms. Vaughn, I'll be popping up in your life more often from now on."
"What do you mean?"
"I'm quite popular lately. My agent got me the spokesperson deal for the Taylor Group. I'll be at the Taylor Group tomorrow to shoot a commercial. Come visit the set, and I'll bring you some snacks."
"No need."
"Ms. Vaughn, if you want to put on a show, you have to go all out. Otherwise, how will your Daniel take the bait? I have to do my friend's task well."
Outside the restaurant window.
Daniel's car was parked nearby. He was gripping the steering wheel, planning to have dinner here, but through the glass window, he saw Della and Gerald eating together.
How shameless. To win over the naive Della, Gerald really went all out. This place wasn't cheap, and he even booked the whole place.
Lyric must be deeply moved.
A few days ago, she was smiling sweetly at him, inviting him to dinner. And now, just a few days later, she had switched to another man.
Now that she had found a rich man, she was cold to him?
She spoke to him so coldly and even called him an old man.
She claimed she didn't like him.
So, the person she liked was Gerald, this playboy from the entertainment industry?
Daniel stepped on the gas and sped away.
After dinner, Gerald insisted on paying the bill. Lyric didn't want to owe him a favor and insisted on paying herself. Gerald could only drive her home.
She wanted to refuse. She wasn't used to strange men driving her home.
It wasn't that she didn't trust him; she just wasn't familiar enough.
She was used to being independent.
But Gerald said she should get used to being pursued by him.
Just treat him as a regular friend. After all, it was just an act, no need to feel burdened.
So she didn't make a fuss and took Gerald's ride.
The Taylor Villa.
Daniel, in a dark green robe, holding a glass of red wine, stood on the balcony, looking at the neighboring estate.
It was pitch black.
No lights on.
She wasn't home yet, and it was already ten at night.
Daniel checked his watch, his face growing darker as he sipped his wine.
The red wine he usually loved now tasted bitter and hard to swallow.
Soon, a bright red sports car pulled up next door.
Daniel squinted, laughing angrily. After dinner, she even brought Gerald home?
Did she not know how to protect herself at all?
The car door opened, and Gerald got out, walked to the passenger side, and opened the door like a gentleman.
Daniel thought that would be it.
But then Della led Gerald into the house.
Soon, the lights came on next door.
The curtains were drawn.
Daniel's heart burned with anger.
He didn't even know what he was angry about.
He became restless and irritable upon seeing her being pursued by another man.
Late at night, a man and a woman alone, with the curtains drawn.
If they weren't going to make love, what else could it be?
Gerald clearly had no patience for her.
Daniel pulled out his phone and called Walter. "Are you busy?"
"I'm sleeping," Walter replied.
"I have a task for you. Call Della and tell her to come to my house to work overtime. If she doesn't come, fire her tomorrow." Daniel downed his glass of wine, his cheeks slightly flushed.
Walter was speechless.
"Then bring all the documents I need to handle tomorrow to my place. I want to see the documents and Della in front of me within half an hour."
Although Walter was speechless at Daniel, why bother Della after work? Capitalists were so selfish, not even giving her a break?
But he still hung up and urgently called Della.
Lyric was showing Gerald around her house when her phone suddenly rang.
