Chapter 333 Sarah Gets Hit
Sarah had already done something she regretted.
Seeing Hubert standing by her bed, covered in blood, was terrifying enough.
At that moment, a massive clap of thunder and a flash of lightning exploded outside the window.
The purple lightning illuminated the gaping wound on Hubert's forehead, making it clearly visible!
Sarah kept backing away, her body trembling with fear, swallowing hard: "Stay away, stay away—"
Hubert grabbed Sarah's hair and dragged her in front of him.
Then he clutched her neck, squinting and smiling: "Sarah, what did you do that makes you so scared?"
"Hubert, you're dead. Just go where you need to go! I'll take care of your wife and kids! The baby in my belly will soon join you, you won't be lonely! Tell me what you want now, and I'll help you!"
"I'll take care of your family! I'll get a priest to perform a ritual for you, to help you move on! Stop haunting me, I'm scared!" Sarah's voice trembled with fear, tears streaming down her face: "You're dead, what else do you have to hold on to?"
"Did you tamper with the car?"
"Answer me!" Hubert roared, as another bolt of lightning cracked across the sky.
Sarah flinched, thinking that since Hubert was already dead, it didn't matter if she admitted it. She was alive, why should she fear a dead man?
She planned to find a priest later to trap him, so he couldn't haunt her anymore!
"It was me! But I had no choice, you were a freak, and I put up with you for so long!" Sarah cried: "Hubert, just accept it, this is your fate. You were miserable alive, working under Raymond. Maybe death is a relief."
Hubert trembled with rage upon hearing this.
He tightened his grip on Sarah's hair.
This vicious woman, he had thought of marrying her, and she wanted to kill him!
He had barely survived Raymond's beatings, only to be deceived by Sarah.
The more Hubert thought about it, the angrier he got.
A surge of anger choked him.
"Hubert, rest in peace. I'll get an abortion tomorrow, and the baby will join you."
Hubert slapped Sarah hard across the face.
Sarah was stunned: "You're not a ghost! You're still alive! You're actually still alive!"
Another slap landed on Sarah's face.
She fell off the bed, hitting the floor.
"Seeing me alive disappoints you, huh? You wanted to abort my child to join me? You tampered with my car to kill me? Sarah, you venomous woman! I thought you had some feelings for me, but you're just a snake!" Hubert, enraged, grabbed Sarah's head and slammed it against the wall.
Sarah felt a warm, wet sensation on her forehead.
"Hubert, I was wrong!"
"You did nothing wrong! How could you be wrong? Do you know what Raymond did to me a few hours ago? He dislocated my left hand! And I still got deceived by you! If I hadn't crawled out of that car, you'd have gotten your wish, wouldn't you?"
Hubert kept slamming Sarah's head against the wall.
Sarah, dazed, tried to push him away, but even with one arm, she was no match for him: "It wasn't me, it wasn't me, I was just momentarily possessed..."
"I wanted to marry you, to give our child a home. Sarah, a woman like you doesn't deserve that."
Hubert threw her aside.
She hit her abdomen on the corner of the nightstand.
A wave of pain washed over her.
Sarah looked down and saw blood streaming down her legs: "The baby is gone, the baby is gone."
"Gone is gone. Did you think I'd still marry you?"
"You dare treat me like this! I'll tell Raymond!" Sarah gritted her teeth in hatred.
Hearing Raymond's name, Hubert grabbed her neck, smiling sinisterly: "Don't mention him in front of me. Let me guess your next move. You want to pin this baby on Raymond, to stir trouble with Margaret, right?"
Sarah swallowed hard, looking at him in terror.
That was exactly what she had planned.
"I used to like you, that's why I helped you against Margaret! Now, what are you? Killing you would be as easy as squashing an ant!"
"Let go of me!" Sarah clawed at his fingers.
But she couldn't pry them off.
Sarah kicked frantically.
Hubert sneered in her ear: "Sarah, you'd better behave. You're a murderer who killed your father. If you don't want to go to jail, don't make me angry!"
Sarah looked at him in horror, shaking her head.
How did he know?
"You think your mom taking the fall for you means you're safe? I've known all about your dirty secrets for a long time!"
"If you dare badmouth me to Raymond, all the evidence of you plotting against Margaret and killing your father will be in Raymond's hands! I'm curious if Raymond will tear you apart!"
Hubert released her and stood up.
Sarah cried, shaking uncontrollably: "You investigated me, you actually investigated me..."
"From now on, you'll do whatever I say. Disobey, and today will just be the beginning, Sarah." Hubert leaned in, kissed the blood on her lips, and smiled sinisterly.
Sarah was too scared to move: "Why not just kill me?"
"That would be too boring. Keeping you alive is the best torture. And don't even think about killing me. If anything happens to me, all your dirty secrets will be exposed to the media."
Sarah stared at him, dumbfounded.
"You've got a long way to go to beat me." Hubert said, slamming the door as he left.
Thunder roared, and rain poured down.
Sarah sat in a pool of blood, struggling to stand up, change clothes, and head to the hospital.
A black Maserati pulled up to Raymond's private villa.
He had just arrived home when he received a call from Eli.
On the phone, Eli apologized: "Mr. Howard, I'm really sorry. I asked my father, but he's too old to treat patients anymore. I didn't want to keep you waiting and risk the patient's condition, so I thought I'd let you know."
