Chapter 441 Don't Be Discouraged, Good Things Take Time

Perhaps it was the improved mood that accelerated Margaret's recovery.

Daniel felt both happy and a bit down.

His emotions were all over the place.

Three months flew by, and Margaret was about to be discharged. The day he would hand her over to Raymond was getting closer.

Margaret sat on her hospital bed, a smile playing on her lips.

Daniel stood outside the room, watching her joy while holding his phone.

David's voice came through the line, questioning, "You're really gonna send her back?"

"What else can I do?" Daniel replied with a bitter smile.

David complained, "If I had known she forgot everyone but Raymond, I wouldn't have helped you save her. Look, you're just doing all this for someone else."

"Ms. Hughes didn't consider your feelings at all? Don't think I don't know you've had a crush on her for years. You should tell her what Raymond did to her. Break her illusions about him, and then you'll have a chance! I performed two surgeries on her because of you. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have bothered with this mess."

Daniel gripped his phone, staring at Margaret's profile through the glass door, saying nothing.

"Tell her everything—the Hughes Family's downfall, how her parents died, and how you saved her multiple times!"

"If I tell her, she'll never smile like that again," Daniel murmured.

David laughed bitterly on the other end, "Hey, you're only thinking about her smile. Who's thinking about your feelings? If you like her, you need to tell her! Be clear about it and fight for yourself! She's a divorced woman, and the Hughes Family is gone. You're more than a match for her. I don't get what you're worried about or why you're feeling inferior."

"I'll think about it," Daniel said, rubbing his temples before hanging up.

He held the phone in his hand.

He didn't know why he was so worried.

But David was right. He needed to fight for it, to tell her clearly, even if it meant risking everything.

He pushed open the hospital room door.

Margaret, dressed in her hospital gown, looked up, and their eyes met.

He was about to speak.

"Are we really going back tomorrow?" Margaret asked eagerly.

He paused, then answered, "Yes. But—"

"Daniel, don't worry. Once I get back, Raymond will reward you handsomely, give you lots of money to thank you," Margaret said, her excitement about seeing Raymond again evident in her smile.

Daniel frowned, "Actually, I don't need money."

He used to be an illegitimate child of the Taylor Family, but after the Taylor Family's son died in a car accident, he was recognized by Cade.

From a poor, ridiculed boy, he had transformed into the CEO of the Taylor Group, the future heir, and the one who would hold power.

Money was not what he lacked.

What he lacked was Margaret, as his wife.

What he lacked was a chance to protect her openly.

Margaret thought he misunderstood and quickly explained, "That's not what I meant. I just wanted to thank you."

"If you want to thank me, can you do me a favor?" Daniel suddenly smiled, setting a trap.

"Sure. What is it?"

"I haven't thought of it yet. I'll tell you when I do."

"Okay."

"Margaret, whatever I ask, you can't refuse," Daniel said, looking at her with a gentlemanly smile. He had changed his mind.

Now it wasn't the time to say it. He was afraid it would be too abrupt, that it would scare her.

He needed to wait for the right moment to tie Margaret to him.

Once tied, it would be for life, and she wouldn't be able to escape.

"Okay." Margaret, lost in her excitement about seeing Raymond again, had no idea about Daniel's inner thoughts.

The night before their return.

Margaret was too excited to sleep.

She wished she could grow wings and fly to Raymond's side immediately, to hold him tightly.

The next day, Daniel saw the dark circles under her eyes, a clear sign of her sleepless night.

She had no appetite and kept complaining about how slow time was passing.

Daniel insisted she eat breakfast and lunch.

Then he called a cab and took her to the airport.

To avoid Cade tracking his movements, they took a commercial flight.

After passing security, they walked through the VIP lane and quickly boarded the plane.

"Here, this is for you," Daniel suddenly handed Margaret a new phone.

Margaret didn't take it, looking at him suspiciously.

He explained, "You couldn't find your phone. I bought you a new one. My number is set as your emergency contact. If you're ever in danger, call me immediately."

"Thank you," Margaret said, feeling grateful. "How much was it? I'll repay you when we get back."

Daniel then pulled out a bracelet from his pocket and handed it to her, "Wear this."

Margaret frowned even more, "Why are you giving me this? I already have someone I like."

Daniel smiled, "It's not like you're the only one with someone you like. What's there to brag about?"

"Won't she get mad if you give me something so personal?" Margaret asked, even more puzzled.

Daniel smirked, "She's not as prone to trouble as you are. Keep it; it might save your life in an emergency."

She still didn't take it.

"It's not a free gift. I'll ask Raymond to pay me back," Daniel added.

Only then did Margaret take the bracelet and put it on without any guilt.

She turned on the phone and looked through the contacts.

There were two: Daniel and Raymond.

She realized that Daniel was very thoughtful. She had forgotten Raymond's number due to her amnesia.

He had saved it in the new phone for her.

She was about to call Raymond.

A staff member approached, smiling, "Miss, our plane is about to take off. Please turn off your phone. Thank you for your cooperation."

"Okay."

Margaret reluctantly turned off the phone.

"In two hours, you'll see him. Don't be discouraged. Good things take time."

"You're really good at comforting people," Margaret said with a slight smile.

Two hours later, the plane landed at Silverbrook Airport.

At the exit, Daniel's assistant was waiting for them.

The assistant drove them to the Hughes Manor, as per Daniel's instructions.

When the car stopped, Margaret didn't want to trouble Daniel any further and thanked him, "You can drop me off here. Daniel, go take care of your business. You've already done enough for me."

"Do you need me to wait with you until he gets back? It's snowing outside," Daniel said, glancing at the snow outside and then looking at Margaret with concern.

Margaret insisted on getting out of the car, not wanting him to stay. Daniel understood her concern—she didn't want Raymond to get jealous or misunderstand, so she was eager to distance herself from him.

Daniel asked, "Margaret, you still mean what you said, right?"
