Chapter 180 So Mad at Me?

"Why do you keep hanging around if you're so mad at me?" Raymond's face turned icy as he yanked her hand off his suit. Did she even get what humiliation meant? She had messed up Sarah's face! He was actually trying to help her!

She had taken off with their kid, shacked up with Daniel, and vanished for days, and he hadn't even given her a hard time. The more Raymond thought about it, the angrier he got. He turned to leave the bedroom.

"Raymond! I'm asking you one last time! Are you really not going to help my dad?" Margaret's tone was sharp, no longer sweet or flattering.

Had she shown her true colors already? She was negotiating with him so self-righteously? "Go find Daniel. He'll definitely help you!" Raymond said flatly, turning to leave.

Margaret lost it and screamed, "You said it! I'll find him! I'll call him right now."

Raymond turned around to see Margaret grabbing her phone, about to dial. He quickly stepped forward and tried to snatch her phone away, saying, "What are you doing?"

"Calling Daniel. Isn't that what you said?" Margaret sneered, holding the phone up and searching for Daniel's number.

Raymond was about to lose it. Margaret listened to things she shouldn't and ignored the things she should. Just as the call was about to go through, Raymond's big hand grabbed the phone and smashed it to the ground. The screen shattered instantly.

"How could you do this?" Margaret went to pick up the phone.

Raymond, thinking she was still going to make the call, forcefully pinned her against the wall, holding her face and suddenly kissing her lips.

He was jealous. Why was this happening? How could she treat him like this? Wasn't living with Daniel for a few days enough? Did she have to call Daniel right in front of him?

Raymond was rough and unrestrained. He showed no tenderness, biting her lips fiercely.

Margaret cried out in pain. This was what she had asked for. She didn't dare push him away or resist, even though she really wanted to. Her lips were bitten until they bled, and the corners of her mouth twitched.

Margaret thought of the past; Raymond wasn't like this. The first time he kissed her, he held her gently, as if she were a treasure, and told her, "Margaret, don't be afraid. I'll be very gentle and won't hurt you."

But now, their days had turned into this. Her bathrobe was disdainfully torn off and thrown to the ground by him.

Margaret felt that everything that happened afterward was like torture, pure suffering. She didn't dare cry, shed tears, or resist. Raymond's willingness to have sex with her meant he was willing to save Marlon.

The pain in her liver suddenly became intense. She hadn't had an episode in a long time. Were the cancer cells starting to act up again? The internal pain made Margaret's face turn pale instantly. Her fingers dug deeply into his strong shoulders.

Raymond had sex with her again and again; it was punishment and torment. She didn't beg him to stop, nor did she ask for painkillers.

Margaret had lost all hope for Raymond. He had long wanted her gone, and even if he knew she was in pain, he wouldn't stop or show her any mercy. Eventually, Margaret passed out from the pain.

When Raymond finished, she was already out cold. He had no idea what kind of pain and torment she had just endured. He only noticed that her expression was so pained.

Even though it was a transaction, she still wouldn't give him a smile. Raymond found the room stifling and oppressive. He got out of bed and took a shower.

After showering, he wrapped himself in a bathrobe, left the master bedroom, and went to the balcony to smoke. The moonlight was beautiful tonight, with stars twinkling in the sky.

He thought of his childhood. Back then, his family was so poor they didn't have a TV or a mobile phone. The only entertainment was sitting on the roof watching the stars.

Sandra had told him, "When people pass away, they turn into stars in the sky, blessing the loved ones they leave behind."

Raymond smoked, looking at the countless stars. Were his parents among those stars? Were they also blessing him from above? Surrounded by smoke, his thoughts drifted.

Raymond thought to himself, 'Dad, Mom, I used to only ask for your blessings for my own safety and health. Now I want you to bless two more people, my wife Margaret, and your unborn grandchild. I'm tired, I don't want to torment myself with hatred anymore.'

'When the child is born, I want to live a normal life, try to let go of the hatred, and live a simple life with Margaret and our lovely child. Life is short, we don't know what tomorrow holds. If my life is filled with hatred, how bitter and hopeless it would be. Marlon has already paid the price and suffered greatly. It can all end now.' With this thought, Raymond took out his phone and called Hubert. "Resume Marlon's treatment. As I said before, spare no effort to wake him up."

If only Marlon woke up, Margaret wouldn't be sad. She would then have given him a child. He could then have returned to the way things were with Margaret.

"Mr. Howard, after everything Mrs. Howard did to you, are you really letting her off so easily?" Hubert's voice carried a hint of surprise over the phone.

Raymond said with a sneer, "Do I need you to teach me how to handle things?"

Hubert quickly said with a flattering smile, "No, I'll get right on it. Mrs. Howard is really lucky to have met you."

Before hanging up, Hubert reminded, "Mr. Howard, Mrs. Howard's prenatal checkup is coming up. Remember to take her for the checkup tomorrow."

Raymond hung up the phone. Everyone else knew he was soft-hearted, that she was lucky to have met him, but she didn't understand this.

Just then, a parrot's voice came, "Raymond! Bastard! Raymond, shameless!"

Raymond frowned, glancing to the side, the parrot in the cage was glaring at him. Taking some feed, Raymond returned and said to the parrot, "Say, Margaret loves Raymond!"

"Raymond, bastard! Raymond, shameless! Raymond, heartless!" The parrot screeched.

Raymond waved the feed in front of it, saying, "Say, Margaret loves Raymond! Or I'll make soup out of you, believe it or not?"
