Chapter 310 Marlon's Will

The envelope was torn open by Margaret.

Then she took out a folded piece of paper from the envelope, and unfolded it.

It was Marlon's handwriting.

Some of the writing was dark, some light, clearly caused by tears falling on the ink.

Margaret looked at the will, tears streaming down her face.

When Marlon wrote this letter to her, he must have shed a lot of tears, just like her.

[Margaret, by the time you read this will I left for you, I will have already left you and gone to heaven. Don't blame me for being selfish, leaving you and your mom so suddenly, because I had no other choice.]

[I'm sorry, I've become a burden to you. You must have been tormented by Raymond to gather the medical expenses for me. I know you won't admit it, but I'm not stupid, I know everything.]

[Seeing you tormented by that beast Raymond, looking so haggard, my heart bleeds. Seeing you are forced to write a will, I feel worse than death. If living means you have to endure such humiliation, I'd rather you live well.]

[It's my fault about Raymond. Percy accidentally hit Raymond's father with the car, and I always wanted to make amends, but we were too late. His parents still died. So I feel guilty towards Raymond and have been doing charity work to atone. But Raymond still showed up.]

[All of this started because of me, so let it end with me. Margaret, I died in front of Raymond to give my life to him, hoping he won't harm my family.]

[Margaret, now that I'm gone, you must live well. You're grown up now, not young anymore, you need to understand your mother. Take good care of her for me.]

[I'll be watching over you from heaven, blessing you with all the best. By the way, there's a bank card in the safe with $300,000 in it. Margaret, if you're unhappy, you can take your mother and leave here. $300,000 isn't much, but you can use it to learn a skill and support yourself.]

[I'm sorry to you and your mom. I promised to protect you both for a lifetime, but I broke that promise. Margaret, when you read this letter, don't cry. I want you to smile. If you cry, I won't rest in peace.]

[Live on. Margaret, live on bravely.]

[Marlon, final words.]

The letter slipped from Margaret's hand and fell to the ground.

Margaret's tears fell like rain, streaming down uncontrollably.

Her throat felt sore and hoarse.

So that was how it was, Marlon died because he saw the will she wrote!

But Marlon didn't know that Nancy also died! They both died, leaving Margaret an orphan!

She was practicing walking and writing, saying she was going away for a while, but Marlon knew everything.

No wonder Marlon suddenly got interested in practicing writing, he wanted to write her a will.

But Marlon didn't know, she was already dying.

She had cancer, and didn't have long to live, just a few days left.

Marlon sacrificed himself in vain, thinking he was giving her a chance to live, but she had no chance at all.

Margaret's tears slid down her cheeks, falling onto the letter on the ground.

She was still blaming Raymond, but it was her will that got exposed.

Margaret reached for the key to the safe, and went to her parents' bedroom.

Just as Nancy said, she used the key to open the bottom drawer.

Inside was a drawer full of gold and silver jewelry, various accessories, and several bank cards.

"Margaret, the pocket money your dad gave me, I couldn't bear to spend it because it was so hard for him to start his business, making money was so hard. I always worried something would happen, so I saved it all. And the jewelry he bought me, after he had his accident, I never wore them again."

"If you want to wear them, wear them. If not, sell them, maybe they can help you."

"Margaret, you don't lack money now. With us gone, you have no more burdens, you won't be controlled or threatened by Raymond anymore."

"Take this money and divorce Raymond. He's not right for you."

"That Mr. Taylor, he seems reliable. If you don't dislike him, give it a try, he should be much more reliable than Raymond. In my life, I wasn't good at much, but I was good at judging men. Mr. Taylor probably likes you. He won't look down on you."

Margaret held the cold, luxurious jewelry in her hands.

Nancy's last words were still vivid in her mind.

Margaret cried, her shoulders shaking uncontrollably, tears falling onto the jewelry.

She had endured so much, compromising, just to get Raymond to help the Hughes Family and treat her parents well.

But her parents died, leaving her with this money.

Her parents never had a good day because of her, instead, they lost their lives early because she married Raymond.

Margaret wailed in despair, the one who deserved to die the most was her.

If she had known it would end like this, she would have died earlier.

Now, it had come to this.

Margaret cried until she was exhausted, collapsing on the carpet, holding her mother Nancy's jewelry, murmuring, "Mom, Dad, I don't want to live anymore. I'll come find you soon."

"You were so foolish, don't you know, I have a terminal illness. Whether you die or not, I am going to die."

"Be well over there, I have no more attachments now. If you miss me, take me away soon, so our family can reunite in heaven."

At the Private villa, Raymond saw the well-dressed Sarah in front of him and instantly became cold. "It's you?"

"It's me. Raymond, who else would it be?" Sarah tucked her hair behind her ear and elegantly sat next to Raymond.

A whiff of perfume reached Raymond's nose.

He instinctively moved away from her, and Sarah felt slightly displeased seeing him keep his distance.

Raymond squinted his eyes: "It's late at night, why aren't you resting in the hospital, what are you doing here?"

"Raymond, I'm here about Margaret. Margaret has been in trouble recently, didn't you know? I had no choice but to come." Sarah spoke considerately, observing Raymond's expression.

Sure enough, as soon as he heard it was about Margaret, Raymond leaned forward, clearly interested. "Go on."
