Chapter 156 Take Her Life
But then, she snapped back to reality.
What was she supposed to say?
Back then, she was so naive, loving him without a clue. She had no idea Raymond was using her, all the while harboring resentment.
Now, she knew everything—his parents' deaths, Marlon still in a coma!
She had a terminal illness, and she was pregnant!
He even forced her to take meds she couldn't handle.
There was no going back, those days were long gone!
Margaret's finger hovered over the answer button, but at the last moment, she changed her mind and hung up.
Then she blocked Raymond's number.
She didn't want to see him, let alone talk to him.
She waited forever, but the mysterious person never showed up!
Margaret thought it was weird, with crows circling and their cries getting creepier.
She found the anonymous message and called the mysterious number again.
This time, someone picked up!
"Where are you? I'm already here," Margaret said, holding the phone.
It wasn't the mute boy on the other end, but a familiar woman's voice.
The woman said, "I'm here, just turn around."
The voice sounded a lot like Sarah's!
But Margaret didn't want to believe it!
When she turned, her eyes widened.
There was Sarah, in a fur coat, talking on the phone and walking towards her. "Margaret, long time no see. How've you been?"
Margaret stared at her, then laughed angrily!
It wasn't the mute boy; Sarah had tricked her into coming here!
"Sarah, are you nuts? Tricking me like this?" Margaret said, turning to leave.
Sarah hung up and blocked her way. "I really wanted to tell you about the mute boy. Don't you want to know how he's doing?"
"You never sponsored him, did you?! I checked with Hope Haven Orphanage! The receipt you showed me was fake! That boy was never there!" Margaret's veins bulged.
Sarah sneered, "Yeah, the receipt was fake! That million bucks went straight to me! Everything you said is true!"
"Why?"
Margaret gritted her teeth; she'd never met anyone as twisted and shameless as Sarah!
Sarah did those awful things without a flicker of conscience, her heart as hard as stone.
"Because when I found him, he already had a terminal illness! I thought spending a million on him was a waste! So I hired a caregiver for his daily needs! Without medical expenses, he had to go home and wait to die!"
Sarah spoke proudly, "Do you know how much he suffered when he died? He could only breathe through his mouth! He died in agony! But even then, he held my hand, thanking me for hiring a caregiver and taking care of him! He said if there was an afterlife, he'd repay me!"
Margaret never expected the mute boy had died!
Over ten years ago, he died of a terminal illness?
Rage surged, and Margaret slapped Sarah across the face. "You're such a jerk! He had no grudge against you, why did you take his medical expenses?!"
If Sarah hadn't taken the money, the mute boy might still be alive!
Margaret, still shaking with rage, reached out to hit her again. "I treated you like my best friend! I didn't care that you were poor, I bought you clothes! I paid your tuition! You said you'd repay me! Is this how you repay me? Seducing my husband! Taking wedding photos with him! Ruining my family! Sending Ashley to kill me! Sarah, you're such a jerk!"
"So you know about Ashley? That idiot, I told her to kill you, but she crashed the bridge and killed herself!" Sarah suddenly grabbed Margaret's wrist, her eyes blazing with jealousy, her face twisted. "You want to know why? Fine, I'll tell you now!"
"Margaret, do you know how annoying you are? You think I was blind to your game? You sponsored my education and became friends with me just to have someone inferior around to make you look better! When I was with you, all the attention was on you!"
"I was just a clown! Just because I was a little less lucky, I had to endure my classmates' mockery and condescending looks? Later, I figured it out, it was all because of you! And you were so fake, doing the most disgusting things while pretending to be kind! You sponsored me, you sponsored the mute boy, just to gain a good reputation, to pave the way for marrying into a wealthy family, am I right?"
"The mute boy had no grudge against me! But I hated you! I just wanted to make you suffer, to make you feel miserable! He's dead! Margaret, that boy has been dead for more than ten years, he's long turned to dust!"
Sarah sneered, gripping Margaret's wrist tightly, and pushed her hard.
Margaret, losing her balance, collapsed to the ground.
Her womb suddenly started to ache intensely.
Margaret clutched her belly.
Sarah's gaze fell on her belly, her eyes instantly cold, and she approached Margaret. "You're pregnant?! Margaret, don't you want to divorce Raymond? Who gave you the right to get pregnant!"
"Don't you want an abortion? Raymond won't let you abort. He insists you give birth, right? I'll help you, I'll take care of this child for you!"
Margaret saw the disposable shoe covers on her feet and instantly understood.
She hurriedly backed away.
"What are you doing?!"
"What am I doing? Don't you know?" Sarah cursed, then kicked Margaret's belly hard with the tip of her high heel.
Margaret felt a dizzying pain, not just in her belly, but her whole body started to ache intensely!
"No one in this world loves Raymond more than I do! No one can have his child! Whoever dares to have his child, I'll make sure they die!" Sarah kicked her again and again.
Margaret curled up in pain, blood gushing from her mouth.
"Stop!" Margaret gasped in pain, tears streaming down her face.
As soon as she spoke, her forehead was struck hard, and crimson blood slowly flowed down her pale cheeks.
But that wasn't enough, Sarah forced her head into the icy cold lake water!
Margaret struggled desperately, her hands flailing wildly on the surface of the lake, but it was all in vain.
