Chapter 128 Carrying Her Out
The doctor, almost in tears, clutched his head and curled up, staring at Raymond with fear. "I... we haven't even started the surgery yet! The baby is still in the mother's womb."
Raymond's fist relaxed, and his face softened a bit. The baby wasn't gone yet! His baby was still in Margaret's womb, and that was a relief!
Raymond yanked Margaret out of the abortion room.
She clung to the door frame, refusing to let go. "Raymond, I want to end this pregnancy. This baby can't stay!"
Raymond laughed bitterly. Why couldn't his child stay?
He pried her fingers off the door frame one by one, dragging her outside.
The doctor got up from the floor and tried to block their way. "She can't have this baby. She already has cance—"
"Move!" Raymond, furious, had no time for the doctor's nonsense.
He was convinced this doctor and Margaret were in on it together!
Raymond's intimidating presence made the doctor step aside without another word.
Raymond grabbed Margaret and stormed out of the abortion room. His face was dark, his steps quick and urgent, and he gripped her wrist tightly.
The pain made her tears fall. She couldn't understand how he found out she was pregnant and having an abortion.
Half a minute later, they reached a black Bentley.
He opened the door and shoved her into the passenger seat.
She tried to open the door, but it was locked.
Raymond slammed on the accelerator, racing down the road. A journey that normally took fifteen minutes was accomplished in a mere five, and they arrived at the apartment entrance.
He dragged Margaret out of the car, his face cold, and took her upstairs.
He walked so fast she had to jog to keep up; shealmost tripped several times, but he never slowed down.
The bedroom door was flung open.
He threw her onto the soft carpeted bed.
"You made me breakfast, acted all nice, and ignored my calls just to secretly have an abortion?" Raymond said, grabbing her by the back of the neck and forcing her to look at him. "Who gave you the guts to do this?"
Her neck felt like it was about to snap under his grip, and Margaret's tears fell from the pain.
"What? You dare to do it but not admit it? You dare to abort my child but can't own up to it? Say something!" Raymond roared, his eyes bloodshot.
Margaret had never seen Raymond so furious. She trembled in fear, his gaze seemingly cold enough to devour her.
But wasn't there hatred between them?
She was Marlon's daughter. Would he really allow her to have his child?
Margaret didn't believe it. The only possibility was that she had taken matters into her own hands. Even if it was an abortion, it should be his decision.
Margaret said with a bleak smile, "Mr. Howard, so when do you want me to terminate this pregnancy?"
"What did you say?" Raymond squinted, his eyes full of shock.
Margaret said with a sneer, "You're so angry because I made the decision for you, and you feel insignificant. I'll listen to you. Whenever you want me to have an abortion, I'll go."
Thinking of her health condition, she added, "But I hope you can let me do it soon. After all, we're already preparing for a divorce."
"You're in such a rush to get an abortion. Is it because this kid isn't mine?" Raymond sneered, suddenly grabbing her throat.
Margaret laughed bitterly. She was used to his accusations by now. If a misunderstanding could make him want to abort the child, she didn't care.
She just wanted to live a few more days.
"Mr. Howard's word is law," Margaret said with a faint smile. "So, Mr. Howard, when do you plan to abort the child in my womb?"
Raymond was almost driven mad by her. She was actually looking forward to aborting the child.
He remembered that when they first started dating, she was eager to have his child. But now that she was pregnant, she didn't want it anymore.
The veins on the back of Raymond's hand protruded as he gripped her neck. Considering Marlon's actions, strangling Margaret a hundred times would still be insufficient.
But now, with the opportunity right in front of him, he suddenly couldn't bring himself to do it. Even if he caught her trying to abort his child, he couldn't bring himself to strangle her! Because there was only one Margaret. If he killed her, she would be gone.
In the end, his eyes red, Raymond forcibly suppressed his anger and let her go.
She fell onto the bed, gasping for fresh air.
"This child, you will have it whether you want to or not!" Raymond stared at her, finally saying.
Margaret said with a sneer, "Having your enemy's daughter, give birth to your child, don't you find it disgusting? If you want a child, go to my good friend Sarah! She'd be more than willing to have one for you!"
Raymond clenched his fists, glaring at her.
But she wasn't afraid at all and added, "Or is it that you're so awful that even Sarah doesn't want to have your child?"
"Margaret, are you looking for trouble? Have I been too kind to you? Is that why you dare to talk to me like this?" Raymond choked her again.
Seeing him so angry, she found it ironic.
They had once been the most inseparable lovers. How did they end up hating each other so much?
At this moment, she suddenly wanted to die at his hands.
If he strangled her, she wouldn't owe anyone anything. In a sense, she had repaid life with life.
Late-stage liver cancer would cause ascites; she would be tortured by pain, looking like a dying person.
Being strangled by him would preserve her last bit of dignity. She loved beauty and didn't want to die looking so ugly.
Maybe Raymond would feel guilty for killing her and treat her father and the Hughes family well.
Margaret said, "Raymond, just strangle me. If I die, it will be over. Your hatred can be let go, and you can live well."
Margaret's eyes were red, her nose sore, and tears streamed down her face. She gazed at Raymond's face and said with a mocking smile, "Do it, Raymond. Haven't you been waiting for me to die? Haven't you already bought a cremation urn for me? Kill me; I won't blame you. Just treat the Hughes Family well in return for my life."
Raymond's eyes flashed with shock and disbelief.
She would rather die than give birth to his child?
For a man, especially one with Raymond's power and status, this was a humiliation.
"Margaret, you are still my wife! Giving birth to my child is your duty. Don't you understand?" Raymond gritted his teeth and roared.
