Chapter 458 Raymond, I Want to Talk to You Alone

Margaret barely had time to react before Sarah shoved her hard.

Her whole body slammed against the edge of the desk.

A wave of intense pain surged through Margaret's body.

She gasped, "Let... let go of me."

"Let go of you? No way! How dare you come to here to provoke me? Idiot, are you coming here to die?" Sarah grabbed the back of her neck and slammed her head onto the desk.

Blood instantly blurred Margaret's forehead.

"I've tried to kill you several times, and you just won't die! Late-stage cancer, and you didn't die! Jumping off a building, and you didn't die! Your parents are dead, so why are you still alive?" Sarah yanked Margaret's hair, pinning her against the desk, a sinister smile on her face. "Besides being born into a wealthy family, what else do you have? Margaret, yes, I'm Sarah, but so what? I look just like you now, sound just like you. And Raymond, he sleeps with me every night. We're getting married soon. The Hughes Group is mine, Raymond is mine. Everything you had is mine now."

Sarah continued, "As for that mute boy you mentioned, yes, Raymond is the one you're looking for, but so what? He's seen me as his savior for years. Do you think he'll believe you? Idiot, you came here without any evidence to warn me? I'm going to kill you right now."

Sarah vented all her frustrations, including Hubert's pressure to kill, onto Margaret.

She choked Margaret's neck tightly, making her breathing rapid and her face pale. Margaret struggled, kicking and hitting Sarah, but it was useless.

"Killing is illegal..." Margaret gasped, trying to remind her.

She never expected Sarah to be this crazy.

Sarah smirked, whispering in her ear, "Illegal? I have so many secrets, what's one more murder? Margaret, if I were you, I'd live quietly with Daniel and stay out of this mess. But you just had to get in my way. Don't blame me; you brought this on yourself. I was even planning to let you go."

Sarah's voice was low, only Margaret could hear.

Her fingers tightened around Margaret's neck.

Margaret felt the air getting thinner, terrifyingly thin.

She opened her mouth, gasping like a dying fish.

Her consciousness began to fade.

A knock on the door.

Margaret wanted to scream for help, but her throat hurt too much to make a sound.

Sarah snapped back to reality.

Right, this was the CEO's office, and Raymond would be here soon. She couldn't kill her now.

She almost ruined everything.

"Margaret, why is the door locked? Open up." It was Raymond's anxious voice.

Margaret's eyes lit up with hope.

Raymond was here, finally here. Did this mean she was about to be saved?

In contrast to Margaret's excitement, Sarah was panicking, her eyes darting around the desk.

Her gaze landed on the ashtray.

Sarah grabbed Margaret's arm, forcing her to pick up the clear ashtray and smash it against her own forehead.

The office door was kicked open.

Raymond saw the ashtray fall from Margaret's hand.

Sarah's face was covered in blood.

She staggered, clutching her mouth, sobbing, "What did I do wrong? Why are you doing this to me? Kill me, just kill me. I am the real Margaret, the genuine Margaret."

Margaret was still in shock.

Sarah begged, "Who are you? Why are you doing this to me? I'll bow to you, okay? My husband and I have come so far, how can you destroy our love?"

"I..." Margaret's throat tightened.

Her forehead was injured, and her stomach ached.

It was from when Sarah had slammed her against the desk.

"Get up." Raymond walked over to Sarah, pulling her up by the arm.

Sarah turned, leaning against his black suit jacket, tears streaming down her face. "Raymond, it's this woman. She came back. She came to find you today. She said she wanted to expose me, to replace me. But I'm the real Margaret, why replace me? We've been through so much to be together."

"Margaret—" Raymond's eyes were on Sarah.

Sarah cried, pleading, "Please, make her go away. I'm so scared. Scared you'll be swayed by her lies, scared you won't love me anymore, won't marry me. Raymond, please, find a way to make her leave, forever, so she won't disturb us."

For some reason, facing his beloved woman crying like this, he didn't feel any sympathy, just annoyance.

But he suppressed that feeling.

"I promise you." Raymond tucked her hair behind her ear, wiping her tears with his defined fingers.

Margaret felt a chill run through her body at those words.

Sarah was Margaret, so who was she?

He believed Sarah, so what did that make her?

Margaret realized that since Raymond had entered the office, he hadn't looked at her once.

He didn't notice she was injured, that her forehead was bleeding.

Raymond's attention was entirely on this imposter!

Why!

How ridiculous! How pathetic!

Margaret's eyes welled up with tears, but she forced herself to hold them back.

Raymond stood up, glanced at her, then called Alvin. "Get security."

Calling security, was he really going to throw her out?

Margaret's fingers dug into her flesh.

She took a deep breath.

"Are you planning to kick me out?"

"Are you leaving on your own, or do I need to have you escorted out?" His gaze was so cold, his tone so indifferent.

Margaret bit her lip, her heart aching, her eyelashes trembling, her emotions threatening to explode.

"Raymond, give me ten minutes. I need to talk to you alone." Margaret stared at the impeccably dressed Raymond. He was no longer the poor boy in jeans she remembered, but a distinguished, suit-wearing CEO.
