Chapter 243 Raymond, You Are Such a Jerk!

But how could Marlon's strength compare to Raymond's?

Not to mention Marlon was old, and he couldn't even stand up. His hands were weak, and when he got agitated, his wheelchair tilted to one side.

Marlon fell to the ground along with the wheelchair, and the wheels of the wheelchair spun wildly.

Marlon glared at Raymond, extremely agitated.

Nancy heard the noise and rushed out. Seeing the scene, she thought Raymond had pushed Marlon over.

Nancy hurried over, fuming, and helped Marlon up, asking, "Marlon, are you okay?"

Marlon shook his head and mumbled something to her.

She then looked up, glaring at Raymond, and cursed, "Raymond, you've ruined our family, and you still dare to come here?"

"Why wouldn't I dare? It was Margaret who opened the door for me last night and let me in. If you have any issues, take them up with her," Raymond sneered coldly.

Nancy got even angrier upon hearing this. "Margaret went to the hospital to bring you soup last night, in such cold weather, and you let her come back alone? You're too much! Without her, you wouldn't be where you are today! Raymond, you're such a scoundrel! You treat her like this, treat the Hughes family like this, and now you treat Marlon like this! He just woke up, what did he ever do to you? Why would you push him?"

"Whether he did anything to me, he knows in his heart," Raymond said with a cold smile, looking at Marlon, who was being protected by Nancy.

Marlon was furious, mumbling and wanting to fight Raymond.

Raymond didn't take him seriously at all. "Marlon, do you think you're still the Marlon of the past? You can't even stand up, and you think you can lecture me?"

"Raymond, have you had enough?" Margaret, half-dressed, came out upon hearing the commotion at the door. She glared at Raymond and shouted.

Raymond's face turned grim when he saw her yelling at him.

Nancy asked Margaret again, "Did you open the door for him last night?"

"Mom, I'll explain later," Margaret said softly to Nancy, then turned to Raymond, "Wait for me downstairs. I'll be out soon to go back with you."

Raymond's expression softened a bit, and he said coldly, "Ten minutes, make it quick."

With that, Raymond left.

Nancy was so angry that tears streamed down her face. "Margaret, have you forgotten how he treated you? You, who are most afraid of the cold, came back alone last night and were frozen! And you still want to go back with him? Didn't you tell me you were planning to divorce him? Margaret, leave him. He's not a good person. Being with him will only bring you misery!"

Margaret felt stifled by Nancy's crying. She blinked her dry eyes.

She also wanted to leave Raymond, but now wasn't the time.

Margaret held Nancy's hand and said, "Mom, take good care of Dad. Let's all be happy; we still have New Year's to celebrate together in a few days."

"Margaret, leave him." Nancy cried. "He pushed your dad down, and your dad can't even stand up. He has no sympathy at all."

Marlon, seeing Margaret not speaking, also mumbled, but he couldn't say a coherent word.

Marlon cried too, hugging Margaret and sobbing.

"Dad, it's okay. I'm fine. Don't listen to Mom's nonsense," Margaret said, giving Nancy a look to stop her from saying anything more.

Nancy realized she had said the wrong thing and closed her mouth.

Margaret gently patted Marlon's back and said softly, "Dad, I will leave Raymond. Give me some time, okay?"

Marlon pushed her away, looking at her suspiciously.

"I'm not lying to you. I always listen to you. Dad, cheer up. In three days, we'll celebrate New Year's. This year, our family will be happy. Forget the unhappy things."

Marlon sighed and nodded.

Margaret called a servant to help Marlon back into his wheelchair.

She then pulled Nancy aside and advised, "Mom, don't keep saying Raymond treats me badly in front of Dad. He just woke up and needs to recover. We need to keep him happy so he can recover better. Dad used to be so powerful in the business world, and now he can't stand up. He must be sensitive. You need to spend more time with him. As you said, the Hughes family is already like this; we can't afford any more problems."

Nancy cried, wiping her tears, and nodded. "I understand everything you're saying, Margaret. But I can't stand seeing you suffer. You're our daughter; we can't bear to see you suffer even a little. How dare Raymond treat you like this."

Margaret smiled bitterly. Nancy didn't know about the feud between Marlon and Raymond's families, so it was hard for her to understand.

It was better that Nancy didn't know. Let all these painful hardships fall on her alone.

Her parents were old and couldn't bear these things anymore.

"Margaret, you have to listen to me. Divorce him, leave him, and you'll have a better life. I'm not joking, I really have money, and there's always a way," Nancy said.

Margaret was moved to tears by Nancy's concern, but she had no future left.

"Mom, give me some time. After a while, I'll leave him. He won't do anything to me," Margaret said with a smile.

At that moment, Raymond called.

Margaret knew he was urging her to come downstairs.

Knowing he had a bad temper and little patience, Margaret quickly said goodbye to Nancy, "Alright, Mom, I won't talk to you anymore. I'll go back with him first. Be happy, I'll come see you and Dad again tomorrow."

"Margaret, remember to call if anything happens. We will always be your support. Don't keep everything to yourself. You need your family to help you make decisions."

Margaret nodded, then wiped her tears and went downstairs without looking back.

Leaving the Hughes Manor, she saw Raymond's new car.

A black Maserati, parked in front of the iron gate, looking particularly flashy and eye-catching.

In the past, Margaret would be in a great mood when she saw him coming to pick her up, happily walking towards him and leaving with him.

But now, she couldn't feel happy.

She held back her sadness, walked step by step to his car, opened the door, and sat in the passenger seat.

It was as if she had no choice but to accept all the hardships life had given her, walking towards her impending fate.

Raymond had a cold expression, his fingers gripping the steering wheel.

Raymond suddenly spoke, "I didn't push your dad. He tried to hit me, and the wheelchair flipped on its own."
