Chapter 267 Writing with Blood

Heart-wrenching, helpless, and desperate tears streamed wildly from Marlon's eyes.

He didn't want Margaret to be so humble, to beg Raymond like this.

Marlon reached out his bony hand, trying to pull Margaret, wanting to wipe the tears from her face.

"Raymond. Say something." Margaret half-knelt on the ground, the cold wind lifting her hair and the hem of her down jacket, her face feeling like it was being slashed by blades.

Seeing Margaret degrade herself like this, Raymond's veins bulged with anger as he forcefully dragged her up. "Get up!"

"Raymond!" Margaret screamed hoarsely, her fingers tightly clutching his suit, wrinkling it just like her heart.

Raymond's face was extremely dark and he gritted his teeth as he whispered in her ear, "Mr. Diaz will be here soon. If you don't get up, don't blame me for changing my mind!"

Hearing that, Margaret's eyes widened.

She looked at Raymond in shock, realizing he had already instructed Hubert.

When Raymond saw Marlon fall from the balcony, he had called Hubert.

Judging by the time, Hubert was on his way and should be arriving soon.

Margaret pressed her lips together, and a faint, anxious call came to her ears.

"Margaret, your dad is calling you," Nancy cried.

Margaret turned and ran to Marlon, then half-knelt on the ground.

Marlon shakily extended his hand, wiping the tears from Margaret's face.

But he struggled, his hand couldn't reach her face.

Margaret quickly grabbed Marlon's hand and placed it on her face, which was stained red with his blood.

Marlon opened his mouth in excitement, his lips moving as he tried to tell her to live well.

No matter what happened, didn't do anything foolish, cherishing her life.

Margaret sobbed uncontrollably, her shoulders trembling.

Worried that Margaret wouldn't understand, Marlon took his hand from her cheek and used his fingers, dipped in his own blood, to write a few words on the ground.

[Study]

[Safe]

[Letter]

Margaret instantly understood that Marlon had left a letter for her in the study.

Perhaps because he was near death, Marlon's strength was very weak. After writing these words, his energy seemed to be completely drained.

He panted heavily, looking at Margaret, his nose congested, breathing through his mouth.

Fearing he didn't have much time left, he rested for a few seconds, then mustered his strength to write 'Password, Birthday' on the ground.

"Dad, stop writing, rest for a bit," Margaret cried, holding Marlon in her arms.

But Marlon's body was getting colder.

The wind kept blowing on their family, and Marlon's eyelids felt like they were about to close, his vision blurring as if Margaret was everywhere.

Margaret saw his eyes darting around, as if searching for something.

Marlon's gaze finally landed on Nancy, and he opened his mouth, making anxious but labored sounds.

He was telling Nancy not to blame Margaret.

Margaret was their daughter, no matter what happened, didn't blame her.

"Marlon, I know what you want to say. I understand. Margaret is our daughter, I won't blame her. Her suffering hurts me more than anyone else," Nancy said, wiping her tears. "Rest for a bit, don't talk. The doctor will be here soon."

But Marlon didn't think so; he knew he was beyond saving.

Falling from such a high balcony, there was no chance of survival.

Marlon's gaze finally landed on Raymond, who was standing behind Margaret.

Raymond, dressed in a dark suit, stood there straight.

Marlon extended his hand, pointing at Raymond with effort.

He wanted Raymond to come over; he had something to say.

Seeing Marlon in this state, Raymond felt a mix of emotions.

He was neither happy nor disappointed, it was just a very complicated and depressing emotion that was spreading inside him.

With Raymond's cold personality, he wouldn't normally pay attention to Marlon.

But he still walked towards Marlon, step by step. Then he squatted down.

Marlon extended his blood-stained hand, placing it on Raymond's hand, and patting it.

He stared at Raymond, with pleading, anger, unwillingness, and helplessness in his eyes.

Marlon made sounds, trying to tell Raymond not to live in hatred anymore.

He was using his life to repay the Howard Family, hoping he didn't make things difficult for Nancy and Margaret.

Seeing Raymond not respond, Marlon was so anxious that tears came out.

He kept gasping, tightly gripping Raymond's hand.

"Dad, stop talking. Mr. Diaz is almost here."Margaret saw Marlon's eyelids had closed, leaving a small slit, his eyes rolling back.

"Dad, don't sleep. Mr. Diaz is on his way, hold on, Dad," Margaret cried, tears streaming down her face.

Nancy also pushed Marlon into Margaret's arms, crying and pleading, "Marlon, don't sleep. Look at me. Last time you slept for more than half a month. You can't sleep again, you just woke up not long ago!"

Nancy and Margaret's cries made Raymond feel extremely oppressed.

Raymond called Hubert. "Are you here yet? Hurry up."

"Almost," Hubert's voice came from the phone.

The call ended.

Raymond looked at Marlon, who was in great pain, and said, "Mr. Diaz will be here soon. Think about Margaret and Nancy. Marlon, don't be a coward."

Marlon gritted his teeth, holding on.

He looked at Margaret, then at Raymond, and finally at Nancy.

He also wanted to live well, but it was impossible.

The cost of living was too high. If he lived, Nancy and Margaret would have to pay, and it wasn't worth it.

Marlon's consciousness gradually faded, his eyes slowly closed, and his arm gradually fell to the ground.

The cold wind blew harder and more fiercely.

"Dad! wake up!" Margaret broke down, shouting.

Nancy also cried out, "Marlon, open your eyes, look at us. Today is New Year's Eve."

But no matter how they called, how they shouted, Marlon seemed to be asleep, his eyes closed, with no response.

Raymond extended his finger to Marlon's nose to check.

"Mr. Howard, I'm late, there was traffic." The ambulance drove into the Hughes Manor, sirens blaring, and Hubert and several medical staff jumped out of the car, respectfully.
