Chapter 100 Did You Still Recognize Me
Thirty minutes later, at Secure Horizon Services.
This base was located in the suburbs of Rosewood City. It was equipped with high walls, electric fences, and floodlights. To the uninitiated, it might even look like a regular prison.
In fact, Secure Horizon Services was involved in many dangerous businesses - escorting valuable goods, land demolition, blockades, debt collection - as long as the price was right, Bryan would do it.
When James was pushed out of the car by Terry and his gang, he could vaguely see a dozen or so people kneeling in the training field, both men and women, crying and panicking in a mess.
They seemed to be the families of debtors and those who had persistently refused to relocate.
"What are you looking at? Let's go"
After instructing his injured subordinates to tend to their wounds, Terry personally shoved James into an office building.
He was aggressive.
While in the car, he had personally handcuffed James, fearing that James might suddenly retaliate and take his life.
The room at the end of the office building was open, roughly three thousand square feet in size. Besides a statue of Carl, there were only some knives, guns, clubs, and whips.
When James walked in, he found a dozen men and women already waiting for him.
Jesse and Lyla were conspicuously present.
They were receiving treatment while glaring at James with venomous eyes as if they wanted to tear him apart.
The two injured had originally been healing in the hospital, but upon hearing that Terry had captured James, they insisted on coming to see for themselves.
Seeing James suffer or even die was the best news for them. They would be haunted for life if they didn't witness James's destruction with their own eyes.
Beside Jesse and Lyla were their long-time companions, eager to regain the face they had lost at the club.
Several fashionable, tall women looked at James, their white legs crossed seductively, their expressions filled with schadenfreude.
Just three hours ago, he had been full of spirit, but now he was a prisoner.
This showed that ordinary people could never rise above their station.
Bryan had yet to appear, seemingly uninterested in the scene.
"James, I didn't expect us to meet again so soon," Jesse laughed heartily at James. "I told you. I'm not someone you can afford to offend. You were impressive at the club, but not anymore."
Lyla, enduring her injuries, got up and walked in front of James. She reached out her hand, lightly patting James's cheek.
Lyla said, "Do you think yourself impressive because you have some skills and some courage? Let me tell you, the complexity of Rosewood City is beyond your dumb imagination. In a moment, I will deal with you personally. You stabbed me once, and for that, I will retaliate tenfold."
She pulled out a pack of cigarettes, sneered coldly, and leisurely lit one up. Her demeanor was arrogant and wild. "I'll make sure to torment you thoroughly."
James didn't even lift an eyelid, completely ignoring her taunts.
A few trendy women smirked, their faces filled with intense disdain. They felt that James was overconfident, still posturing even at a time like this.
In their view, James must be terrified deep down.
"But don't worry, we won't touch you just yet." Lyla lifted James's chin with her finger. "We'll wait until Terry brings Mary here, and then we'll entertain you both together. You're Mary's husband. You seemed crazy about her, acting recklessly for her. Fine, in a moment, we'll let you watch as Jesse and the others have fun with your woman."
Lyla looked at James with a playful expression. "Don't be angry. Don't be upset. In our hands, you can only admit defeat."
Simply torturing James's body was meaningless. They wanted to destroy what he valued most, to make him wish for death. That was the only way to feel truly satisfied.
Jesse squinted slightly. "I think I can smell Mary's scent. That woman truly lives up to her reputation as the top beauty of Rosewood City."
A dozen men laughed heartily at his words, their smiles lewd and evil.
"Go ahead, laugh. Laugh while you can because soon you won't be able to." James looked at them with no anger but only sympathy. "No, you won't even see tomorrow's sun."
Terry's face turned furious. "What are you so arrogant about?"
Lyla also sneered. "Who do you think you are?"
The beautiful women laughed as well, mocking him. Even as a prisoner, he was still so arrogant. This live-in son-in-law was truly stubborn.
They played with their phones, waiting for James to kneel and beg for mercy.
"James, I find you very displeasing right now." Terry walked up to James, laughing maniacally. "Kneel, and I'll ask Mr. Watson to spare you."
Many of Terry's men had been injured by James earlier at the hospital, and Terry felt it was time to vent his anger.
James shouted, "Get lost."
Before Terry could finish his sentence, James suddenly lifted his leg and kicked hard, hitting Terry squarely in the abdomen.
Terry grunted, taking a few steps back, a hint of pain on his face, but he didn't fall.
The room fell silent, and everyone was utterly shocked. Fighting back at this moment was akin to courting death.
Several burly men in black rushed forward, pinning James down.
"You dare kick me. You've got guts." Terry sneered, grabbing a knife and charging forward, his crazed demeanor making everyone's heart race.
Terry shouted, "Hold him down. I'm going to stab him eighteen times myself."
Some men held James down.
"If I were you, the best thing to do right now would be to run out the back door." James's ears picked up distant noises. "Secure Horizon Services is headed for trouble"
Secure Horizon Services in trouble?
A few stunningly arrogant women seemed unimpressed. Some scoffed dismissively, while others giggled coyly.
Secure Horizon Services, from the moment of its establishment, had been untouchable and unshakeable.
"Intimidate me? You're not quite there yet." Just as Terry was about to stab James, there was a sudden loud crash outside, and the heavy iron gate was violently rammed by a car.
The noise startled everyone.
Then came the roar of engines, the sound of helicopters, and the cold, precise gunfire.
Everyone could tell it was a one-sided slaughter.
The door was kicked open by a panicked man in black, who shouted, "Terry, someone's attacking!"
James looked at Terry and his men with a smile. "You're finished."
The beautiful women stared at James in disbelief.
At that moment, the base, surrounded by high walls and electric fences, was in chaos. Humvees simultaneously rammed the front and back gates open.
Then, twelve armored vehicles stormed into the courtyard, bullets firing from the windows, mercilessly killing Secure Horizon Services' men.
Meanwhile, two helicopters hovered overhead, their floodlights illuminating the entire base.
Nearly a hundred uniformed men surrounded the base.
No one was allowed to escape.
Jesse looked a bit panicked. "Who has the guts to attack this place?"
Lyla took out her phone to call. "I'll call Mr. Bennett."
However, she quickly discovered that her phone was out of battery.
"Damn it, this isn't a place where you can run wild." Terry, regaining his composure, was furious. "Go out and kill them for me."
He thought it was James's companions coming to rescue him.
About twenty burly men responded loudly, opened a cabinet, and grabbed shotguns, ready to head out.
The beautiful women's eyes sparkled, silently admiring Terry and his men for their boldness.
They then glanced arrogantly at James as if to say that no amount of reinforcements would help.
But as soon as the men in black reached the door, they were targeted by a series of red dots, followed by a hail of bullets.
All twenty men were shot in the head and fell to the ground.
Blood was everywhere.
Terry and Lyla were stunned.
The next moment, Scott appeared majestically, surrounded by a group of five or six people.
Dressed in a pristine white uniform, he was sacred and inviolable.
"Do you still recognize me?" Scott stood in front of Terry and slapped him twice.
"You." Terry, clutching his cheek, was dazed. "Aren't you that auxiliary officer?"
"I am Scott." Scott shot him in the knee.
Scott?
Terry was too shocked to even scream, staring in disbelief at the badge number 0001 on Scott's uniform.
Was he really Scott Miller?
Impossible!
Terry's face was filled with despair. He knew that he was done for tonight. Not only was he in trouble, but the people of The Watson were also doomed.
Jesse and Lyla were equally shocked. They never expected that dealing with James would provoke Scott.
How could James have connections with the Miller family?
The beautiful women, too, looked at James with troubled expressions, their disdainful eyes now tinged with fear.
Without giving Terry time to regret, Scott shot him in the head.
Lyla and her female companions turned pale.
Jesse fainted again.
"Round them all up and grill them for information." Scott waved his hand. "Arrest those who needs to be arrested, and kill those who needs to be killed."
