Chapter 67 Where to Move Bricks
In the days that followed, James became quite busy.
Bradley transferred the 10,000 square feet of JZL Medical Hall to James's name and firmly refused the $7.5 million James offered at market price.
Using the pretext that James had cured Kelsey, Bradley was adamant about not accepting the money.
James had no choice but to accept Bradley as his apprentice and teach him basic acupuncture techniques in exchange for occupying JZL Medical Hall.
Ecstatic, Bradley hung up a sign indicating that he was temporarily closed for training, and he dedicated every waking hour to mastering the three-needle technique.
Seeing this, Mark moved directly into the JZL Medical Clinic, pitifully clinging to James.
James, with a smile, passed on the remaining knowledge of the Nine Palace Reviving Needle technique to him.
Thus, the two great doctors holed up in their rooms, diligently practicing the needle technique, and even posted a notice that they would be closed for twenty-one days.
James had no choice but to let them continue with their struggles. He then turned his attention to carefully nursing Kelsey back to health, enabling her to walk freely.
After Kelsey's health improved, she insisted on learning medicine from James. However, James felt that she lacked the necessary foundation, so he introduced her to become Skylar's assistant.
He planned for Kelsey to take over BH Pharmaceuticals in the future.
During this period, many patients came to JZL Medical Clinic for treatment. Apart from a few who had complicated diseases, the rest were minor ailments.
James opened a clinic in the backyard and called Daniel to see the patients, which was also a form of training for him.
After dealing with these matters, James asked Jared to send a construction team to renovate the JZL Medical Hall.
Jared didn't delegate the task to others; instead, he brought a team of highly skilled workers for the renovation.
For a while, JZL Medical Clinic was bustling with people coming in and out, and dozens of workers were busy at work.
Since the JZL Medical Hall was his own and his first venture, James was particularly excited and appeared at the JZL Medical Clinic occasionally.
At the same time, James discovered that after treating Kelsey and dozens of patients, the white glow of the Life-Death Stone had recovered to 70%.
This gave James even more confidence.
That afternoon, as James was discussing a screen design with Jared, a white business van pulled up at the entrance.
The door opened, and five or six men and women, with an air of arrogance, approached the front of JZL Medical Hall.
An almond-eyed woman impatiently tapped on the counter. "Who's in charge of JZL Medical Hall? Get them out here."
Her companion, a man with a rooster comb hairstyle, kicked over a bucket of paint. Jared grabbed a shovel, ready to confront them, but James stopped him and then approached the almond-eyed woman.
Jared replied, "I am the person in charge. What do you need?"
The almond-eyed woman took out a business card.
The woman said, "My name is Alexis, Director of Sales at The Greens Group. We are taking over the supply of your medicinal herbs. For the 108 types of herbs regularly used at JZL Medical Hall, we will deliver $300,000 worth of raw materials on the first of every month. For the 36 rare herbs, we will provide $1 million worth of raw materials. The Greens Group will decide on the quantities of each herb. If you have special needs, you can pay fifty percent more to get the goods."
She tapped her fingers on the table and asked, "Do you understand?"
One of her companions handed over a price list for the herbs. James glanced at it and said, "Too expensive. It's forty percent higher than my current supplier. I don't want it."
Alexis laughed in disbelief. "Didn't you understand what I said? We will deliver the goods on the first of every month. Whether you want them or not, you have to take them. You can throw the herbs away or burn them, but you must pay."
James asked with interest, "And what will you do if I don't comply?"
"You won't pay?" Alexis sneered, her eyes filled with contempt. "Then your JZL Medical Hall won't be able to stay open."
Paul Jackson slammed the table and shouted, "I can have this place smashed right now."
James chuckled, "So you play both sides."
Alexis was noncommittal. "Stop wasting time. Either sign the contract and pay a $500,000 deposit, or shut down JZL Medical Hall."
She placed a stack of documents in front of James, her face arrogant, confident that James wouldn't dare refuse.
James smiled, picked up the contract, tore it in half, and threw it on the ground. James shouted, "Get out!"
Alexis's face turned serious, and they said, "I'm angry now."
Paul laughed angrily. "Very well, you dare to tear up our contract. You're finished." He took out his phone, "Troy, bring some people over to smash JZL Medical Hall. There's a guy here who doesn't know his place."
Alexis crossed her arms, her almond eyes fixed on James with a cold sneer. "You can still settle this with a hundred thousand dollars now, or you'll be in trouble soon."
James shrugged. "No problem. I'd like to see how you plan to smash my JZL Medical Hall."
"Damn! Dare to bully my cousin? Is there no rule of law anymore?" Before the car door had even opened, an extremely arrogant voice came from the van. "Speak up. Who are you? I don't bully people with no background."
A sunglasses-wearing young man with his left hand bandaged climbed out, followed by seven or eight rowdy youths, each holding a shovel in hand.
Chewing betel nut, he spoke in a bullish tone and said, "State your name. I hope you don't disappoint me."
Alexis looked at James with disdain. "You're done."
James looked at the sunglasses-wearing young man and smiled. "Name? Alright, I'm James."
The young man in sunglasses froze instantly, his mouth agape and almost wide enough to fit an egg. "James, James."
To the astonishment of Alexis and her companions, the young man's voice trembled, and he shakily removed his sunglasses. It was none other than Troy, who had been taught a lesson before.
Seeing that the owner of JZL Medical Hall was James, he collapsed to the ground, trembling.
James smiled at Troy. "That's right, I'm James. So, gentlemen, how do you plan to ruin me?"
"James, I'm sorry, I'm sorry." Troy quickly put down his shovel, his face full of flattery. "This is a misunderstanding."
To the astonishment of Alexis and her companions, James said calmly, "A misunderstanding? With shovels in hand?"
"Mr. James, this is all a misunderstanding. These shovels aren't for violence. We were just wondering if you were in need of some labor," Troy said, trembling but forcing a smile. "I heard you're in charge of the JZL Medical Hall, so I thought we'd come over and see if we could be of some help."
"Is that so?" James stepped forward, patting Troy's face with a smile."You came at the right time. The septic tank at JZL Medical Hall needs to be rebuilt, and we're short on hands."
"You guys can clean the septic tank for me. Work hard, stay at JZL Medical Hall for a few days, and leave when the job is done." James tilted his head slightly toward the backyard and asked, "Is there a problem?"
Troy felt like crying inside, but he was outwardly full of enthusiasm. "Let's go dig the septic tank, everyone" After saying this, he led the seven or eight people to the backyard. As he passed the rooster-comb-haired man, he gave him a hard kick.
Alexis and her companions were utterly taken aback. It was beyond their belief that the usually hard-nosed Troy was acting as docile as a lamb in James's presence.
"Thank you for bringing me some labor," James said, patting Paul's cheek. "Are there more of you? Call them over."
Paul came around. Though he didn't understand why Troy was so fearful of James, he could guess that James was no ordinary person.
He gritted his teeth and remained silent.
Alexis shouted to her companions, "Let's go." The five or six of them turned to leave.
"Who said you could leave?" James smiled faintly. "Do you think you can leave like this?"
Jared tilted his head slightly, and a few workers carrying sledgehammers went up and smashed the business van to pieces.
"Don't go too far." Alexis's face turned pale with fear, but she still tried to sound tough. "Don't think you can scare me just because you can intimidate a few thugs. I'm Alexis from The Greens Group."
"How dare you smash my car? You'll pay for this." Alexis tried to sound tough. "Or this won't be over."
"The Greens Group, quite the authority." James took out his phone and made a call. "Stephen, come over and move some bricks for me."
Alexis sneered, thinking James was putting on a show. How could a mere owner of JZL Medical Hall know someone from a big group? And why would they move bricks for him?
But in less than thirty minutes, a Maserati roared up. The car stopped in front of JZL Medical Hall, and Stephen hurriedly got out. "James, where do you need the bricks moved?"
Alexis and her group were dumbfounded.
