Chapter 433 Stew the Toad

Dean was scared out of his mind, and James was just as shocked.

Even though Olivia had warned him over and over about Byron's temper, James had seen Byron's polite demeanor and thought his temper couldn't be that bad.

But Byron's punch just now made James realize this guy was seriously dangerous.

Byron could've opened the door and chased Dean down, but instead, he punched through the wall and grabbed him.

The sheer force and brutality of it made James's eyelids twitch uncontrollably, and he was stunned by Byron's strength.

Forget about killing a bull; he could easily take down a bear.

"Mr. Reyes, it-it's a misunderstanding," Dean stammered, trembling on the floor after being dragged in by two of the Reyes family's elite guards.

Byron didn't waste words. He simply tilted his head slightly towards his men. "Take off his shirt."

Two of the Reyes family's elite stepped forward.

"Mr. Reyes, I'm really not part of the Blood Medical Sect," Dean shouted. "I'll take it off myself, I'll show you."

He started unbuttoning his shirt, looking both aggrieved and resigned, as if he truly had nothing to do with the Blood Medical Sect.

But just as he reached the third button, Dean suddenly jumped up, slicing at Byron's throat with a hand holding a scalpel.

It was vicious, precise, and fast. Such a sudden attack rarely leaves room for a counter.

Unfortunately, he wasn't fast enough.

Byron didn't dodge; he swung his fist directly at Dean's hand.

Dean immediately heard the sound of his wrist breaking, but before he could scream, Byron's other hand had already struck him in the face, sealing his mouth.

His teeth shattered instantly, and blood sprayed from his nose like two blood arrows.

The medical staff were all petrified, their faces pale.

None of them had ever seen such a strong, ruthless character, nor had they seen such a fierce and straightforward fighting style.

Byron threw Dean heavily to the ground, like discarding a useless sack.

Then he tore off Dean's shirt, revealing a black cherry blossom tattoo on his chest.

"So you are from the Blood Medical Sect," Byron said quietly, his face expressionless.

"Who would have thought, you have Celestia blood in you, yet you willingly serve the Blood Medical Sect."

"Take him away, treat him well, and interrogate him thoroughly."

Two of his men came over and dragged Dean away.

Dean tried to move his mouth to commit suicide by poison, but found his teeth had been knocked out, rendering it useless.

He looked at James with hatred.

James waved cheerfully. "Goodbye."

"Mr. Reyes, I didn't expect the Blood Medical Sect to plant a spy so close to you," Olivia said, having the blood cleaned from the floor. "They really are everywhere."

"It's normal. The Blood Medical Sect was originally a force carefully nurtured by Lumaria," Byron said calmly.

"They had two main goals: one was to transform the physique of a billion Lumarians, and the other was to monopolize Celestia's medical field."

" Besides making huge profits from us, they also want to collect our genetic information."

"In case of any conflict, they could release a targeted medicine, and Celestia's people would suffer."

"I've always advocated for caution against the Blood Medical Sect, even putting them on the blacklist, but the interests are complex. Many forces lose their stance for the Blood Medical Sect's medical skills and drugs."

"They keep introducing Blood Medical Sect's products and beautifying their personnel, under the guise of mutual emotional promotion."

"Little do they know, in case of conflict, these so-called friendly people will turn on us."

Byron was not just physically strong but also sharp-minded, making James nod in agreement.

"Due to various influences, without solid criminal evidence, we can't openly act against the Blood Medical Sect, which means they can easily plant a lot of hidden dangers in Celestia."

Byron pondered. "But their motive for infiltrating my side needs to be thoroughly investigated."

"The motive is simple," James said, recalling Sky Wolf with a faint smile. "It's to use Matilda as a bargaining chip, pulling at your heartstrings step by step, and making you their pawn."

"Don't underestimate the Blood Medical Sect. As you said, they have money, people, and medical skills." James added, "By holding Matilda's life over you, and controlling you with certain drugs, you might have no choice in the end."

Byron was slightly stunned, his gaze focused as he thought deeply. "Their intentions are despicable!"

"By the way, Mr. Williams, you mentioned Matilda could wake up." His eyes became eager. "Is that true?"

James nodded. "Yes, but I need the location of your ancestral graves."

Byron's eyes flashed with confusion. "Is it really necessary?"

James smiled faintly. "Matilda isn't actually sick; she's missing a part of her soul."

Byron was even more puzzled. "Missing a what?"

"Using alchemy terms, humans have a material soul, a spiritual soul, and a divine soul," James patiently explained to Byron. "Matilda is missing her spiritual soul, which is why she's in this dazed state."

"And the reason she's missing her spiritual soul is because it was absorbed by the ancestral grave during the ritual. Someone's tampered with the grave."

He looked serious, worried Byron wouldn't believe him.

"How is that possible?" Byron, who relied on strength, felt his brain wasn't enough. "That's too absurd!"

He was a staunch atheist. If James hadn't exposed Dean's identity, he would have kicked James out long ago.

Olivia smiled gently. "Mr. Reyes, why don't we go to the graveyard and see for ourselves?"

Byron turned to the door and shouted, "Prepare the car!"

Ten minutes later, James and Olivia followed Byron to the Reyes family's cemetery, with Matila lying in an ambulance behind.

Half an hour later, the convoy arrived at the Reyes family's cemetery, at the place where Matilda had been commemorated. Byron pointed with his finger. "This is where our ancestors rest."

James nodded. "Dig it up!"

The Reyes family members were all stunned. They were going to dig up the grave.

Byron's eyelids twitched, but he waved his hand. "Dig it up!"

A dozen people immediately started working, and soon they had the grave dug up.

They expected a foul smell and rotting wood, but instead found a brand-new coffin.

The lid was pried open, revealing half a coffin of water, with a skeleton floating inside, and a blood-red toad.

The toad had many runes painted on it, occasionally absorbing water and exhaling.

Its eyes bulged, its cheeks puffed, looking utterly fierce.

Olivia and the others instinctively got goosebumps.

"Damn it!" Byron wanted to chop the toad with a knife.

James quickly stopped him. "Don't move, it's still useful!"

Hearing James speak, the toad raised its head and croaked.

"Stop croaking!" James put on gloves, grabbed the toad, and squeezed its mouth.

A breath of air came out of the toad's belly.

After the air was released, James broke the toad's neck and threw it on the ground. "Cook this toad and send it to Aurelia."
