Chapter 53 BH Pharmaceuticals
Fifteen minutes later, Mary stayed at the Hundred Flowers Bank to process a loan application while Patrick invited James into the VIP room, where Mrs. Green was already waiting.
A woman in a flowing dress, poised and beautiful, greeted James as he entered."Good to see you, Mr. Williams."
James nodded to her. "Good to see you, Mrs. Green."
"Mr. Williams, you must help us," Patrick implored, a stark contrast to his disdain the day before as he repeatedly grasped James's hand. "Please save me and Skylar Green. Having a child is really important to us."
If Skylar couldn't conceive within two years, and if Patrick didn't divorce her to remarry, Patrick's father, Roger Sanders, would donate all his wealth.
Patrick didn't want to lose the substantial family fortune nor did he want to abandon his wife, so he placed all his hopes on James.
Skylar added. "Whatever it takes, just name your conditions."
Just yesterday in Taylor's office, they had pointed fingers at James, calling him a bold charlatan. But now, they were seeking his help.
This dramatic turn of events was somewhat hard for the high-standing couple, Patrick and Skylar, to adjust to. But compared to their future together, Patrick felt that pride was trivial.
"Let's skip the small talk. I'll start by clearing Mrs. Green's meridians," James said, not much for pleasantries, as he began sterilizing his acupuncture needles. "Once you're better and have had the child, you can thank me then."
Patrick and Skylar looked at James with renewed respect. "Thank you, James, thank you."
Patrick was worried James might refuse and thought about clinging desperately to him if necessary, but he found James to be approachable and easygoing.
Seeing the acupuncture setup, Skylar asked, "Mr. Williams, should I take off my clothes?"
"Yes, remove your outerwear," James replied.
He wanted to say it wasn't necessary, as those skilled in acupuncture could perform it blindfolded, but he wasn't one of them.
He felt a pang of embarrassment. After all, Skylar was an attractive woman, and asking her to undress seemed somewhat inappropriate. This was certainly a different situation than with Taylor Clark, whom James had never really seen as a lady.
"James, why are you blushing?" Skylar suddenly giggled. "I'm not embarrassed, yet you are. How interesting."
Patrick laughed heartily upon seeing this. He initially felt awkward that his wife had to take off her clothes but found relief in James's expression, which confirmed to him that James was a man of integrity.
"You've done acupuncture for Taylor Clark, haven't you?" he joked.
James gave a wry smile. "Taylor Clark? To me, she's like a man."
The Greens laughed again.
Then, Skylar suggested. "If it makes you uncomfortable, just think of me as your sister. That way, you won't feel pressured."
Patrick nodded vigorously. "Right, like siblings. From now on, I'm your brother-in-law."
James hesitated."Is that really appropriate?"
Skylar gave James a playful scowl. "What? You think I'm not good enough to be your sister?"
"No, no, it's just...unexpected," James chuckled, quickly overcoming his initial hesitation. "Alright, I'll call you sister. Now, sister, please take off your outer garment and put on something lighter."
Patrick clapped James on the shoulder and then stepped outside to wait, not wanting to disturb the acupuncture session.
Skylar laughed as she changed into a lighter garment and lay down on a couch.
Even in thin clothing, her graceful figure was strikingly evident, especially her legs and arms, which revealed much of her fair skin, adding an exquisite allure to the luxurious room.
James focused his mind, picked up the acupuncture needles, and began treating Skylar using techniques taught to him by Life Gem.
At first, Skylar felt nothing unusual, but soon, a warm sensation spread throughout her body, concentrating into a hot flow that surged toward her abdomen.
"It's so warm, " Skylar exclaimed in surprise, feeling incredibly comfortable below her abdomen.
James continued his work silently, inserting needles into Skylar's body.
Skylar's body trembled as the heat intensified into a fiery sensation, not only striking her abdomen fiercely but also spreading to her legs.
She lay there trembling...
After James concluded the acupuncture session, Skylar was left lying on the bed, soaked in sweat and completely drained.
"Rest for a while, sister, and take a bath in about half an hour," James suggested as he packed up his tools and exited the VIP room.
Outside, a visibly anxious Patrick was eagerly waiting. He greeted James with a hopeful smile, "James, are you finished?"
His worry was palpable as he asked, "How did it go?"
"The acupuncture session is done, and the situation is very good. The fallopian tube has been unblocked, and the uterus has become fertile," James reported, his professionalism shining through. "However, she still needs to take some medicine. I'll write you a prescription, and she should follow it for two weeks." James picked up a pen and paper and wrote down a list of more than ten medicinal herbs.
James added, "After the adjustment period, I'll check on her again. In the meantime, she should avoid smoking, drinking, and sex."
Patrick was overjoyed and took the prescription. "Thanks, my friend."
"Stay for lunch, don't rush off. Let me express my gratitude properly," Patrick warmly invited James. "Bring Mary along. Let's make it a lively meal."
"Patrick, let's plan for another day," James smiled and declined. "I have some matters to attend to this afternoon."
Skylar's treatment being a success was a great relief for Patrick, and James didn't want to intrude on their time together.
"Alright, another day then. I'll take you out for a drink." Patrick hugged James firmly. "Make sure you come."
James nodded with a smile.
"Oh, and sign here." Patrick suddenly remembered something, pulling James over to a table and casually handing him several documents to sign.
James was taken aback. "What's all this?"
"Trust me and Skylar. We wouldn't deceive you," Patrick said, his tone half-joking yet stern, as he guided James's hand to sign the documents swiftly.
James was astonished. "Patrick, what exactly is this?"
Patrick laughed. "A few years ago, out of boredom, Skylar started a company called BH Pharmaceuticals, focusing on cosmetics. Now that her condition is resolved, she needs to focus on her health and start a family, so she can't keep running BH Pharmaceuticals. But she wouldn't want to sell it or hand it over to someone else, as she had built it herself. But giving it to you, I'm sure she'd be more than happy. So, from now on, you're the majority shareholder of BH Pharmaceuticals, owning ninety percent of the company, giving you absolute control. The remaining ten percent is just a keepsake for Skylar. The company isn't huge, just over a hundred employees with a market value of about ten billion dollars, but it's quite profitable. Just play around with it. If you don't want to manage it yourself, hire a professional manager. It's all up to you."
Patrick laughed heartily. "This is also a little token of appreciation from me and Skylar."
Ten billion?
James was completely dumbfounded.
