Chapter 247 No Tears Left to Cry

The next morning, James had just opened the clinic when he saw four or five cars pull up at the entrance. They roared loudly, oozing arrogance.

When he looked up, he saw the car doors open and several burly men step out, including a Black man. They were all dressed in suits and wearing sunglasses, looking very professional.

Then, a beautiful woman appeared, dressed in a white short skirt and wearing gold-rimmed glasses, looking very intellectual and assertive. It was Sarah's assistant, Alexa.

"Bright Heart Hall Clinic?" Alexa glanced at the sign with a hint of disdain in her eyes. "This is the place."

She lightly covered her nose and mouth, clearly repulsed by the smell of herbs, and felt a surge of discontent towards Mary. If Mary hadn't refused Miss Howard's request, would Miss Howard have sent her to invite James? With that, she led the group into Bright Heart Hall Clinic.

Mia and the others thought they were here for treatment, so they didn't stop them and even gave her a number, ninety-nine.

"What the hell?" Alexa glanced at the number, then crumpled it up and threw it on the ground. She locked eyes with James, who was treating a patient, and said arrogantly, "James, Miss Howard has decided to give you an opportunity to curry favor. You need to come to Peach Blossom Villa No. 3 to treat Mr. Howard."

"Hurry up and come with us." She tilted her head slightly, her tone was impolite and her expression was contemptuous, as if asking James to treat a patient was a great favor to him.

Nathaniel, who was drinking water, almost spat it out, looking at Alexa as if she were an idiot. He couldn't believe someone so self-important existed.

"Sorry, I have patients, they are waiting for me." James recognized Alexa and replied, "And I'm not in a good mood today, so I'm not making house calls."

"Also, you threw away the number and disrespected the clinic. We don't welcome you." He added.

Jared and Stephen, being sharp individuals, immediately sensed the tension between James and Alexa and quickly took out their phones to send messages.

"James, stop talking nonsense. Do you know what you're missing out on?" Alexa's pretty face darkened, "Mr. Howard's a big deal in Philly. Treating him is a huge honor. If you can help him, you'll be a famous doctor in Rosewood City. You'll also receive a payment beyond your wildest dreams, much better than running this clinic."

"Don't mislead yourself." Alexa pushed up her gold-rimmed glasses and stared at James, "And don't be ungrateful."

"Thanks, but I don't consider it an honor, and I don't want the money." James looked up and said calmly, "You should leave."

If there weren't patients present and Michelle in the backyard, James would have slapped them away long ago.

"James, do you really have to be so ungrateful?" Alexa was furious, "If you don't treat Mr. Howard today, not only will Mary suffer, but your clinic will also be shut down. Believe it or not, one phone call from me is all it takes to make your life difficult."

She had never seen someone as arrogant as James. Treating Mr. Howard was a huge opportunity, something many people would kill for, and he was refusing it. It was outrageous.

James didn't even look up. "Get out!"

Alexa was fuming, ready to explode but held back. She glanced around the simple clinic and sneered, "You're just pretending to be noble to raise the price, aren't you?"

"I'll give you two hundred thousand dollars. Have you ever seen that much money? Pack your things and come with me." She took out a checkbook, wrote a check for two hundred thousand dollars, and threw it arrogantly in front of James.

"Stop pretending. I don't have time to play games with you. My time is very valuable." As the top secretary of The Howard family with a million-dollar annual salary, she despised James's greed.

While Alexa was being self-important, Nathaniel and the others didn't get angry but watched from the side.

James picked up the check and looked at Alexa. "I told you to get out. Do you not understand me?"

"James, you're too arrogant." Alexa was completely enraged by James. She pointed at his nose and shouted, "You think I'm a pushover? Think again! You're going today, and that's final!"

She waved her left hand. "Take him away."

Several Howard family bodyguards approached menacingly. Many patients in line scattered, afraid of getting caught in the conflict.

"You'd better not resist. My bodyguards might accidentally break your arms and legs." Alexa sneered as she threatened James, waiting to see him in a sorry state.

James said calmly, "Throw them out!"

Nathaniel shouted, "Janitor, let's do it."

With that command, Mia instantly shot forward, knocking one person away like lightning, then kicking a second bodyguard. She then grabbed the third bodyguard by the collar and threw him out.

Before the bodyguards could hit the ground, Mia grabbed the Black bodyguard's fist, twisted it, and flipped him to the ground. In a second, all five bodyguards were on the ground, groaning. The last bodyguard retreated in panic, protecting Alexa.

Mia kicked out repeatedly, sending the struggling bodyguards flying out the door without mercy.

Seeing this, Alexa was both shocked and furious. She never expected the clinic's janitor to be so formidable, defeating five Howard family bodyguards single-handedly. These were elite fighters, each capable of taking on ten men.

Alexa's face darkened. "James, do you know what you're doing?"

James replied coldly, "Tell Sarah that in twelve days, she should prepare a grave for Simon."

Alexa was furious, clenching her fists, wanting to strangle James, but seeing Mia, she held back her anger. She shouted, "Let's go!"

The six bodyguards glared at James before getting into the car to leave, but before they could start, dozens of bricks were thrown from both sides of the street. The windshield shattered instantly.

The Black bodyguard was furious and was about to shout when more stones flew overhead. He quickly ducked. The car was hit again.

Alexa screamed and ordered the bodyguards to retreat. The cars sped away chaotically. But the journey was anything but smooth, with stones and bricks hitting the cars and rotten eggs and fruits flying in.

By the time Alexa and her group left Main Street, the cars were in shambles, worse than garbage trucks, and they were filthy.

"Call the police, call the police, arrest him!" Alexa was on the verge of tears.
