Chapter 263 From Now On, You Belong to Me

Faced with the fierce Riley, James knew better than to argue. He'd only get himself into more trouble.

He led her into a private exam room and asked her to undress and wrap herself in a towel for the acupuncture.

Riley didn't hesitate for a second, stripping down without a care that James was right there.

James looked away, silently impressed by her boldness. Any other woman might've been more reserved or suspicious.

For the next half day, James not only neutralized the snake venom but also got rid of the evil energy from her back.

Riley had been stabbed, and the knife was cursed. It messed her up physically and brought her a ton of bad luck.

James used acupuncture to break the curse and treated her other minor issues too.

When he finished, Riley felt a refreshing sensation spread through her body.

She felt lighter and genuinely happy, like a weight had been lifted off her shoulders.

Before, it was like she was carrying a hundred pounds, but now she felt incredibly light.

Her gaze towards James changed dramatically, like she was looking at a god. She was overwhelmed with excitement.

She gave him a thumbs up, "Guess you're not a fraud after all."

James replied, "Is that your way of giving a compliment?"

"You're a skilled physician," Riley rolled her eyes at him. "Why are you so petty?"

James just smiled wryly and handed her a big bottle of ointment. "This is a special ointment I made for treating wounds and scars. Use it, and your wound will be good as new in about half a month."

Riley, fierce as she was, had a great appearance and figure, so seeing her wounds felt like a pity to James.

Riley was taken aback, then her eyes lit up. "Is this ointment really that good?"

Even though she was tough, she still cared about her looks. She'd rather look beautiful than show off battle scars.

James rubbed his head. "I can neutralize snake venom and treat evil energy. Do you think I'd fool you with ointment?"

Riley thought about it and agreed. With James's skills, the ointment had to be valuable. She took it and put it in her pocket.

"Thanks," she said, looking at him with clear eyes. "You helped me, and I want to repay you."

"You can repay me, but I have one condition," James quickly interrupted. "Don't marry me. You can repay me in the next life."

"Bastard!" Riley kicked at him. "How dare you say that."

She was fast and fierce, catching anyone else off guard.

But James had just learned Wind and Cloud Steps that morning, so he easily dodged the kick.

"Wow, nice dodge," Riley said, a bit surprised, then swept her foot again.

Her momentum surged, and her leg shadows filled the air.

James's figure flashed, not only avoiding her attack but also moving a few feet away like a phantom.

Riley got more interested and launched a dozen more fierce kicks at him.

But all her attacks missed. Despite the small exam room and her fierce attacks, James always managed to dodge.

And each time, it was just by a hair.

He was as unpredictable as the wind, shifting and changing with every move, making him hard to pin down.

In less than ten minutes, Riley, who had been attacking with full force, started to pant, while James remained calm and composed.

"I can't play anymore. You're not a man," Riley said, stopping her attacks and walking up to him. "Can't you let me win?"

James looked helpless. "Riley, you could kick a bull to death with one kick. How could I dare let you win?"

He pointed to the mess on the floor. The table, bed, cabinet, and chairs were all smashed by Riley.

"You're stronger than a bull," Riley shot back, then switched gears. "Do you really not like me? Do you know how many people want to marry me?"

Upset, she glowered at James, and her chest heaved, making her shirt quite the sight.

"They must be forced by you with a knife," James muttered to himself, quickly moving away, but not daring to say it out loud. He feared Riley would either kill him or wreck the clinic.

"It's not that I don't like you, it's that I'm not worthy," James said with an apologetic smile. "Riley, you're beautiful, have a great figure, and come from a good family. I would only make you a laughstock if I marry you."

"Don't use reverse psychology on me," Riley said, putting on her clothes. She cornered James and pinned him against the wall, her breath hot on his face.

As James pondered how to escape, Riley extended her right hand, lifted his chin, and said, "Whether you agree or not, from now on, you're my man, and you'll live with your wife's family after marriage."

"If anyone bullies you, just tell me, got it?" She was very imposing.

James replied, "Yes, Ma'am."

Riley glared, "Louder."

James felt terrified and quickly responded loudly, "Yes, Ma'am, I'll report your name if anything happens."

Then he realized something was wrong. Didn't this mean he was really hers now?

James regretted opening the clinic today.

Seeing James's obedient look, Riley finally let go of him and then put her arm around his shoulder as they walked out.

James looked depressed but didn't dare resist.

Riley was quite a beauty, even more so when she wasn't fierce. Walking out of the examination room like this, they instantly attracted many patients' attention.

People were curious about who this beauty was and why she was so close to James.

Some returning patients even thought of Olivia, Mary, and Kelsey, imagining Riley as another one of James's women.

Mr. Williams not only had great medical skills but also a knack for finding girlfriends. Didn't he think about the single ones among them?

Many patients looked at James with envy.

Nathaniel and the others stood far away, not daring to provoke or even greet her.

James smiled politely, "Riley, take care, come back anytime."

"Are you in such a hurry to get rid of me? No, I need a keepsake." Riley was about to step out of the clinic when she suddenly remembered something. She reached out with her left hand.

She grabbed James's wrist and bit down hard.

James couldn't dodge in time and let out a shout.

Riley was fierce, leaving a row of red teeth marks that almost broke the skin and wouldn't fade for at least ten days to half a month.

James couldn't hit a woman, so he could only endure it with tears in his eyes.

The onlookers, patients, and their families cheered.

James's reputation plummeted just like that.

After finally seeing Riley off, James went to the backyard to clean the bite with alcohol. Before he could curse Riley as an untamed pup, he saw Mary's bag vibrating.

He remembered he had forgotten to return the bag to Mary.

James wanted to ask Samuel to return it, but the phone kept ringing. Worried it might be something important, he opened the bag and took out the phone.

Accidentally, he answered the call, and Addison's yelling soon reached his ears, "Mary, why haven't you replied all day? Do you even care about your mom? Your Aunt Reese and her family are coming from Stardust City, arriving on the 5:30 PM train. Your dad and I are tied up. Hurry up and get off work to pick them up and take them to Peach Blossom Villa No. 1."
