Chapter 115 The Attitude of Asking for Help

As Alexander made his escape, James and Katherine arrived at David's hospital room.

The officers arranged by Scott saw James and immediately greeted him with respect.

"Hello, Mr. Williams."

Clearly, they all knew that James had saved David and were aware of his relationship with Scott.

James smiled and nodded at them, then checked the equipment and, seeing no major issues, left the room.

"James, I'm sorry." In the hallway outside the room, Katherine apologized to James with a regretful expression. "I'm sorry you had to go through that. Mrs. Thompson was just overly concerned and lost her temper."

Katherine had intended to help but ended up causing James to get scolded, which made her feel bad.

Although Katherine was dressed simply, her well-proportioned figure was still accentuated by her clothes. As she approached James, a pleasant fragrance wafted over her.

James took a light sniff and smiled. "It's okay. She'll come to apologize soon enough."

"Is there really something wrong with Alexander?" Katherine asked curiously, "Is his acupuncture really that harmful?"

James nodded. "Yes, it truly depletes the last bit of vitality."

Katherine showed a hint of anxiety. "Then isn't Gabriella in great danger? Why didn't you stop Alexander with all your might?"

James said, "Mrs. Thompson thinks I'm a fraud. How could I stop him?"

James smiled faintly. "But you don't need to worry. After I exposed him, Alexander won't dare to continue, and Andrew will definitely be more vigilant."

Katherine still harbored concerns. "What if Mr. Thompson believes him?" she asked.

James replied calmly with a smile. "He won't. Otherwise, he wouldn't be Andrew."

At that moment, the elevator doors opened, and the elegant Mrs. Thompson appeared with four bodyguards, looking very anxious.

She nodded at Katherine and then walked straight to James. Mrs. Thompson said, "Sir, please come up quickly and check on my daughter."

Getting Alexander exposed indirectly proved that James was quite capable.

Additionally, surveillance footage from the traffic police showed that James was indeed the one who saved Gabriella.

Katherine was slightly taken aback, not expecting Mrs. Thompson to actually come down to ask James.

However, Mrs. Thompson's tone was frosty, laced with a sense of superiority and authority. It felt less like she was asking James for help and more like she was granting him an opportunity.

James looked at Mrs. Thompson and said indifferently, "I'm busy."

Mrs. Thompson's face hardened as she spoke sharply, "Are you deaf? My daughter's condition has changed. I want you to check on her."

She directly pressured James. "Don't dawdle. If anything happens to my daughter, you won't afford to bear the responsibility."

"I can't treat Gabriella," James responded, clearly repulsed by Mrs. Thompson's attitude. "You should seek someone more capable."

Katherine also remained silent, clearly disapproving of Mrs. Thompson.

"How can you be like this?" Mrs. Thompson's face darkened. "I'm giving you an opportunity, and you're not taking it?"

Mrs. Thompson said, "Let me tell you, you'd better come with me obediently, or you'll suffer physically. The Thompson family can grant wealth, but it can also bring destruction."

Her words were threatening.

James unceremoniously shouted, "Get lost!"

"Is it money you want?" Mrs. Thompson was furious and threw a large stack of checks at him. "How much do you want? I'll give it to you. Ten hundred million dollars, one hundred million dollars, I'll give it all to you. Stop pretending."

She had seen many people like James, who put on a high and mighty act just to get more money. Once the money was in place, they would all bow and scrape like dogs.

James shouted again, "Get lost!"

"Do you believe that I can make you leave Rosewood City with one word?" Mrs. Thompson continued to be overbearing. "I can even make all your friends and family suffer."

James turned to her with a smile. "I doubt it."

"You're asking for it." Mrs. Thompson ordered, "Tie him up and take him upstairs."

One of the Thompson bodyguards, with a cold expression, reached out to grab James by the collar.

Before he could touch James, James swiftly dodged and kicked out.

The Thompson bodyguard crashed into the wall with a thud.

His face was full of pain.

The tiles cracked into a spiderweb pattern with a snap.

There was a dead silence.

The other three bodyguards' eyes widened.

Mrs. Thompson also froze.

He was fierce and ruthless.

She never expected James to be so fierce.

However, she quickly regained her composure and laughed coldly. "I didn't expect you to have some fight in you, but sadly, you're outnumbered. Seize him."

Mrs. Thompson was determined to make James obey.

The three bodyguards, with cold expressions, pulled out batons and charged at James.

But before they could touch James, three police officers rushed out of David's room, each with a gun and, with a click, aimed at the heads of the three bodyguards.

"Don't move!"

Then, the three officers kneed the Thompson bodyguards hard in the stomach, causing them immense pain.

The three bodyguards squatted down.

The three gun barrels were still firmly pressed against their heads.

Seeing the firearms, Mrs. Thompson's face changed slightly. "Who are you?"

"My name is Phillip Wilson." One of the officers shouted, "Mr. Miller has ordered that anyone who dares to touch Mr. Williams will be shot."

Mr. Miller? Scott?

"Is James from the Miller family?" Mrs. Thompson's face changed with surprise.

Phillip coldly replied, "Mr. Williams is the most honored guest of the Miller family. Mrs. Thompson, I know you and your capabilities, but I advise you to show some respect to Mr. Williams. Otherwise, don't blame us for not giving you face."

His words were harsh but decisive.

As James smiled faintly, Katherine explained to Mrs. Thompson, "James saved Mr. Miller's life last night."

Mrs. Thompson thought, 'Isn't he just a doctor with some medical skills? How did he suddenly become a martial arts master and the most honored guest of the Miller family?'

This was something the aggressive Mrs. Thompson couldn't accept.

But she recognized that Phillip was indeed a close confidant of Scott, representing Scott's will to some extent.

Unable to act, Mrs. Thompson could only continue to offer inducements. She bit her lip and said, "Name your price. How much to save Gabriella?"

"Do you think money can solve everything in this world?" James turned to face Mrs. Thompson with his hands clasped behind his back. "Alright then, name your price for me to slap you."

"Bastard, how dare you talk to me like this?" Mrs. Thompson couldn't help but take a step back, her face angry and a bit scared. She had never been humiliated like this before.

Everyone around her, including friends and family, always flattered and fawned over her, but now James was making her feel unprecedented pressure and humiliation.

"Stop whining." James unceremoniously crushed Mrs. Thompson's arrogance, "Let me slap you, and I'll save Gabriella."

Mrs. Thompson was furious. "Don't go too far."

"I'll do it."

At that moment, the elevator dinged open again, and Andrew walked out with a few subordinates.

Andrew took one look and understood the situation. Hearing James's condition, he mercilessly slapped Mrs. Thompson left and right.

With a series of crisp sounds, Mrs. Thompson's cheeks swelled, and blood trickled from the corners of her mouth, showing that Andrew's slaps were not light.

"I told you to invite the expert properly. Why are you so arrogant? Apologize to Mr. Williams! Now!"

Andrew's anger was intimidating.

Mrs. Thompson, covering her face, felt very wronged but knew that opposing Andrew would have worse consequences. She reluctantly apologized. "I'm sorry, it was my fault."

She knew that although Andrew cared for her, indulged her, and even let Gabriella take her surname, once he got angry, he was not to be defied.

Before James could speak, Andrew furrowed his brow. "You're not sincere."

Mrs. Thompson suddenly dropped to her knees. "Mr. Williams, I'm sorry."

As James narrowed his eyes slightly, Andrew also slapped himself twice.

Andrew said, "Mr. Williams, I apologize for our ignorance and disrespect. We were wrong to treat you so rashly! If you have any grievances, feel free to vent them to us. We will not complain. We only hope you can help Gabriella. She is innocent."

He knelt straight down. "Mr. Williams, please save Gabriella."

"Mr. Thompson, I accept your apology." Seeing Andrew's sincere kneeling, James took a step forward and helped him up. "Let's go, check on Gabriella."
