Chapter 178 You Must Be Blind
"James?"
Jenny's eyebrows shot up, her face twisting in disdain the moment she saw him.
"What the hell is he doing here?"
Gary, standing nearby, recognized James, too, and was just as pissed.
Everyone thought last night's mess was sorted out thanks to Gary, except James, who had doubts. That really ticked Gary off.
"James, why are you here?" Jenny, in her high heels, stepped forward, blocking James with a cold glare. "This isn't a place for you."
Gary joined her, pointing to the door. "Get lost!. I've got important stuff to handle today. Don’t have time for your nonsense. Get lost."
Gary barked at James, "Don't make me mad, or you'll regret it."
He had no idea why James was here or what he wanted, but one thing was clear—he didn't want to see James right now.
"Gary, Jenny, you two really are a piece of work," James said, looking at them like they were fools. "What a bunch of blind eyes."
"Well, having 'blind eyes' is better than being a show-off," Jenny retorted, her tone dripping with disdain. "At least we don't need to borrow bulletproof Audis to look important."
Gary chimed in, "Yeah, riding a shared bike doesn't make you cool, no matter how hard you try."
"Whether I ride a bike or drive an Audi, that's my freedom," James said, parking his bike. "Now, move."
"Ha! Freedom? That's a joke. What freedom do you have to drive an Audi?" Gary laughed mockingly. "Last night, Mr. Collins scared you senseless. If it weren't for me intervening, you'd be in deep trouble right now."
James eyed Gary with a smirk. "The more you lie, the more you end up fooling yourself. I never believed it before, but now I do."
"Lies? You're ungrateful," Gary fumed. "If I hadn't called Mr. Robinson to smooth things over with Mr. Collins, you'd still be in trouble."
Last night, surrounded by Sebastian, Gary made over ten frantic calls, promising big rewards.
The first ten calls were hung up on, but Mr. Robinson finally said he'd talk to Sebastian.
Gary thought Mr. Robinson was just humoring him, but surprisingly, things turned out fine, even for James.
Though Mr. Robinson never answered his calls again or asked for the promised million dollars, Gary believed he had helped.
Otherwise, how could they and James be safe?
Gary dismissed the idea that Kaitlyn handled it. Among them, only his connections were worth anything.
Gary was sure James owed him.
Seeing James ungrateful and always targeting him, Gary was naturally furious.
His face darkened. "Get lost, or if Mr. Collins doesn't get you, I will."
"Just go, Gary's really pissed off. It's not worth it, For Kaitlyn's sake, I'll let it slide today. But get lost now, or you'll regret it," Jenny interjected impatiently.
After today, she and Gary would be in the big boss's good graces, and then they could deal with James properly.
James smirked. "Leave? Not happening.
"If I leave, who are you welcoming?"
Gary was taken aback. "What do you mean?"
"Do you think you're in charge here?" Jenny snapped, her anger turning into a mocking laugh. "Do you really think I don't know who you are and what your background is?
"Not just a joke—more like a sign that you're out of your depth."
Gary waved over a security guard. "Get him out of here. Now."
The boss was due any moment, and a scene like this would only hurt everyone's chances. He didn't want James tarnishing his image.
A few of the high-ranking and key staff couldn't help but snicker, their disdain obvious. To them, James' shabby clothes and shared bike were a farce.
Just then, a convoy slowly pulled up.
Leading the pack was a fiery red Maserati, its sleek body gleaming.
Everyone at BH Pharmaceuticals knew that was Skylar's car.
Jenny exclaimed, "They're here! Ms. Green and Kelsey must have brought the boss."
Everyone echoed, thinking this matched the boss' status.
"Get lost," Gary warned James one last time. "Pretending to be our boss? You'll end up in jail."
He stopped the security guards from taking action, not wanting to draw too much attention and risk affecting the boss' mood.
The car door opened, and two stunning women, more eye-catching than the luxury car, stepped out.
One had a slender, elegant figure with a straight waist and impeccable grace, exuding an almost otherworldly charm.
The other wore a white chiffon blouse, a black professional short skirt, and black stockings, looking both sexy and capable.
They were Skylar and Kelsey.
Their appearance instantly brightened everyone's eyes, as if dispelling the shade under the sycamore leaves.
Gary and Jenny instinctively went to greet them. "Ms. Green, Miss Knoll."
Kelsey ignored the greetings, anxiously scanning the surroundings, then locked onto James and rushed over.
"James, I'm sorry we're late."
Then, Skylar also walked over with a smile and hugged James.
"Hello, James."
The employees of BH Pharmaceuticals were stunned. They watched in disbelief as the seemingly insignificant James was treated with such respect by Skylar and Kelsey.
After all, he came here on a bike.
They didn't understand how he gained Skylar and Kelsey's attention.
Gary and Jenny were left dumbfounded, clearly shocked that Skylar and Kelsey knew James, though they hadn't yet grasped his true identity.
"Ms. Green, Miss Knoll, good morning."
Gary ran over, ignoring James, and smiled at Skylar and Kelsey, asking, "Where's the boss? We're ready for his inspection."
The interruption not only cut short James' moment of recognition but also served as a reminder to Skylar and Kelsey not to let anything go awry.
"Boss?" Skylar's face turned cold, and then she shouted at Gary and the others, "Are you all blind? The boss has been here, can't you see?"
She stood beside James and declared, "This is my brother, James, the major shareholder, and the big boss of BH Pharmaceuticals."
The revelation left the crowd stunned. They couldn't quite wrap their heads around the fact.
Several beautiful women covered their mouths tightly, preventing themselves from screaming.
They couldn't believe that this guy, who came on a bike and lived with his wife's family, was really the boss of BH Pharmaceuticals.
Gary's face turned ashen.
"What? He's really the boss?" Jenny's eyes widened in disbelief, utterly shocked.
