Chapter 180 Black Skeleton

Sebastian apologized sincerely.

Last night, after seeing James in action, he went home and got a serious beating from Aaron.

Aaron didn't mention anything about medical skills or connections; he just told Sebastian about the people James had killed.

When he heard that James had taken out the five villains of The Bell, the Midnight Killer, and then killed Barbie, Bella, and Kylie with one sword strike, Sebastian broke out in a cold sweat.

Known as the most notorious thug in Rosewood City, Sebastian was well-versed in martial arts legends but didn't pay much attention to medical skills or connections. Yet, he knew he was light-years away from the likes of Bella and her team.

Sebastian might have bullied people in Rosewood City, but Bella and the others were seasoned international mercenaries with superior skills and cunning.

James had killed them all with one sword strike. The fact that he survived last night was really thanks to his father.

Recalling James' ability to injure people with a bottle, Sebastian finally decided to let go of their grudges and make every effort to befriend James.

He believed that having James as an ally would be immensely beneficial.

So, early the next morning, Sebastian arrived with gifts to apologize and make amends.

He was genuinely remorseful and aimed to make a friend.

As luck would have it, Sebastian encountered Gary, who was making a scene, and took the opportunity to deal with Gary, showing his respect towards James.

Seeing Sebastian being so respectful to James, not only were Jenny and the others stunned, but Skylar also found it hard to believe.

They knew well the kind of person Sebastian was—a wild, uncontrollable young man who rarely bowed to anyone.

Thus, the whole place fell silent.

"Apologize?" Hearing Sebastian's words, James smiled noncommittally. "Didn't you apologize last night, Mr. Collins?"

Sebastian, unusually humble, replied, "Last night was too hasty. My sincerity and regret weren't enough.

"And after thinking about it all night, I suddenly understood what you said.

"If it weren't for meeting you last night, if it were someone else, I'd probably be lying in a funeral home now.

"So I came over today to thank you for your mercy and teachings."

He pointed to the bandage on his head.

"For this, I even asked the doctor not to stitch it up, to leave a scar, so I can always remind myself."

Jenny instantly understood that their safe escape from the bar last night had nothing to do with Gary; it was entirely due to James' strength.

Moreover, James had protected them.

When she thought about how they had humiliated James last night and Gary's talk of a million dollars, Jenny's face flushed with embarrassment.

Gary, lying on the ground, was incredulous. "How is this possible? How is this possible?"

He couldn't understand what kind of person James really was.

He thought, 'Isn't James just a son-in-law living with his wife's family? How could even someone like Sebastian come to curry favor with James?'

Ever since he met James, his luck had turned for the worse.

Beaten up last night, fired today, and now publicly humiliated, Gary felt like dying.

Gary couldn't figure out why James had such great abilities.

But whether he understood or not, he knew that James was not someone he could mess with.

Many female employees also looked at James with admiration, surprised that the young boss was so capable.

Skylar's lips curled up; with Sebastian's support, BH Pharmaceuticals would develop even more smoothly.

"Crazy, crazy..." Gary looked at James and shouted irrationally. "Why? Why you?"

Hearing Gary questioning James, Sebastian walked back and kicked him again, making Gary groan in pain.

"Who do you think you are? Do you think you can offend James?

"James is righteous and doesn't like to mess with small fry like you, but I, Sebastian, hold grudges.

"If you have any complaints about James, just say it, and I'll take them all on."

He was filled with resentment toward Gary. If it weren't for Gary saying last night that James was just a useless son-in-law, he wouldn't have been so reckless.

Gary repeatedly waved his hands, "No, no, I didn't mean it."

James waved his hand. "Let him go."

"Get lost!" Sebastian kicked Gary again and said, "But remember this, if you make James unhappy again, I'll make your whole family unhappy."

Gary felt like he had been granted amnesty and left, clutching his stomach and groaning.

Jenny took a couple of steps, wanting to follow, but ultimately stopped and stayed among the employees.

Smart women always made smart choices.

In her mind, James didn't kick her out right away, which meant she still had a shot at climbing the ladder.

After sending Gary packing, Skylar got the senior execs back to work and invited James and Sebastian into a swanky conference room.

Jenny was all over it, serving coffee and water like her life depended on it.

"James, that punk Gary still doesn't know his place. If you want, I can take care of him for good," Sebastian said, not even bothering to sit down. "It was because of him that I messed up last night."

James looked at Sebastian and smiled. "Last night's over, let's not dwell on it.

"As for what I told you, if you take it to heart, it's your gain. Just don't let me catch you bullying people again."

His tone was calm but carried a weight that made it clear he wasn't messing around.

James wasn't worried about Sebastian becoming an enemy, but if he wanted to be friends, James wouldn't say no, especially for Aaron's sake.

"Don't worry, James, I'm turning over a new leaf."

Sebastian grinned and waved his hand. "Quick, bring the gift I got for James."

A subordinate brought in a black box opened it and revealed an antique-looking treasure bowl.

"James, this is a lucky cat. I heard you were taking over BH Pharmaceuticals from my father, so I got this from the antiques market for you."

Sebastian rubbed his hands nervously. "It's both an apology and a gesture of goodwill. Hope you don't mind."

James squinted, picked up the lucky cat, and asked, "How much?"

Sebastian laughed. "Not expensive; it's 1.56 millon."

"1.56 millon?"

James touched it with his finger and smiled faintly. "The seller had bad intentions."

"Bad intentions? Is it fake?" Sebastian was taken aback. "I have a good relationship with The Morris Antique Shop, have done business many times, and the prices have always been the lowest among peers.

"James, why do you say the seller had bad intentions? Is it a counterfeit?"

Before Sebastian could finish, James stepped forward and punched it.

With a loud bang, the lucky cat shattered into pieces.

The punch left everyone stunned.

Something fell out from the fragments.

A horrifying, blood-soaked skeleton dressed in a black wedding gown emerged, emanating an eerie, foul odor.

Sebastian and the others gasped, feeling a chill down their spines.

A lucky cat embedded with a blood-stained skeleton would scare anyone.

"What is this thing?" Skylar instinctively rubbed her nose. "Why does it smell so weird?"

"This skeleton has been soaked in corpse oil. With this skeleton, the lucky cat turns into something that gathers all bad luck for its owner," James said calmly. "Simply put, it aims to ruin the target's business and family."

Skylar and the others were stunned, their understanding of reality shattered. They turned to Sebastian with questioning eyes.

Sebastian quickly explained, shivering, "James, I really bought this, not to harm you.

"If you don't believe me, I can show you the receipt, and my subordinates can testify."

He hurriedly assured, trying to clear himself of any responsibility; otherwise, being misunderstood by James would make his life difficult.

"I know it has nothing to do with you," James said calmly, then took some alcohol, poured it on the black skeleton, and lit it with a lighter.

With a flash of fire, the alcohol burned with a crackling sound, but the black skeleton remained intact.

Not only did the bones stay intact, but even the wedding gown didn't catch fire; the flames merely danced around it.

It was impervious to fire.

This left Skylar and the others in shock.

Sebastian was also incredulous; with so much alcohol, how could it not burn a single bone? Even a stone would be scorched.

James, unfazed, took out a silver needle and stabbed it into the heart of the black skeleton.

The black skeleton's face instantly twisted, as if in great pain.

Then, as the alcohol seeped in and the flames burned, the wedding gown and skeleton turned to ash.

As the flames died down, the last wisp of black smoke turned into a grim face, staring at James for a long time.

It wasn't until James pierced it with another needle that it screamed and dissipated.

Jenny and the others were almost scared to their knees.

It was indeed an evil thing!

"Damn it! Who dares to mess with me?"

Sebastian's face turned livid as he turned to his subordinates.

"Let's go. Erase The Morris."
