Chapter 214 Something Happened

Once they got outside, James told Samuel to bring the car around and helped his mom into the back seat.

Michelle gave Samuel a nod, then shot a worried glance back at the sales hall. "Your uncle and his family are really ticked off."

"Mom, you and Dad are just too nice," James said with a helpless grin. "You never stand up for yourselves, and they keep walking all over you."

Michelle looked guilty. "I always thought family shouldn't be too calculative. It's okay to suffer a little for harmony."

Looking back, she realized it was a mistake. Not only did Roberte's family take advantage, but James also suffered.

But the thought of confronting with Richard's family felt too serious to Michelle.

"From now on, cut ties with them. If they give you any trouble, tell me, and I'll sue them to get that house back," James advised. Then he changed the subject. "Mom, you shouldn't go back to White Rock. Robert and his family will bother you. Let me be honest. I have money, bought a house, divorced Mary, and opened a clinic. The clinic has enough rooms and people to take care of you. I hope you can move in with me. As for the tea shop, you can set it up in the clinic. There are many patients with colds, and your tea will be very useful."

Previously, James was constrained by the Smith Family and couldn't live with his mom. Now that he was in charge, he wanted her by his side.

"You divorced Mary?" Michelle was shocked, then sighed. "Mary is a good girl. It's a pity you divorced. But I won't interfere. It's your decision. As for moving to the clinic, I won't go. The rent here still has four months left, and the business is stable. It would be a shame to close it."

Michelle felt it was better not to disturb her son.

"James, as long as you visit me often, I'll be happy."

"Mom, I found Dad," James revealed. "He's at my clinic."

Michelle trembled upon hearing this, and the words came out slowly.

"Your dad? Alive? He's back?" Michelle looked at James in disbelief. "James, you better not be lying to me."

James nodded. "I am not. A few days ago, Mary happened to meet Dad, so I brought him back. He's fine, just unconscious. He should wake up in a few days."

James was also troubled by Virgil's condition. He could repair the souls of the dead but couldn't awaken Virgil's closed consciousness.

Over the past few days, he had transferred his power a dozen times, which only repaired Virgil's body, but he still slept deeply.

"Let's go, let's go see your dad." Once Michelle confirmed James wasn't joking, she was overjoyed and grabbed his hand. "I need to ask him where he's been this past year."

As the car left White Rock, James noticed a taxi following them, seemingly tracking their movements.

James didn't pay much attention and informed his mom about his dad's condition.

Half an hour later, the car arrived at Bright Heart Hall Clinic, and James helped his mom out of the car.

He was about to take his mom to see Virgil when he heard the roar of engines behind him.

The next second, a dozen motorcycles roared up, circling around them.

Then, a car appeared, stopped outside the circle, and a few lazy-looking young men got out.

Marcus, whose hand James had broken before, appeared dragging a baseball bat.

Marcus was wearing a martial arts shirt with "Mystic Alliance" written on the front and back.

James asked Daniel to take his mom to see his dad while he watched Marcus from a distance.

The last incident at the supermarket hadn't taught Marcus a lesson; instead, it made him even more reckless.

"James, I'm here. You hurt my parents, I'll kill you today."

"Don't think you can scare Troy or that knowing Jacob allows you to walk around Rosewood City like you own the place."

"Let me tell you, I've already joined the Mystic Alliance Not even Troy or Jacob can scare me now."

Marcus spotted James from a distance, a cruel smile on his face, looking like a loser who had turned the tables.

A dozen companions cheered loudly, rallying behind Marcus.

James sneered and ignored them, picking up a cup of tea and taking a sip.

Seeing James's disdain, Marcus was furious and waved his hand, saying, "Brothers of Mystic Alliance, come with me and take down that bastard James. I want him to know that we are not to be messed with."

Marcus's face twisted with rage, ready to settle both old and new scores.

"Go!"

He kicked aside a patient blocking his way and pointed his baseball bat.

"Take them all down, one by one."

However, as soon as Marcus and his group entered the clinic lobby, they felt a chilling presence.

Marcus couldn't help but look up.

He immediately saw a young man with a red face and bandages sitting next to James.

The young man was holding three bills and glaring angrily at Marcus and his group.

It was none other than the infamous Nathaniel from the Mystic Alliance, who was also the boss of Marcus's new master.

Marcus felt as if he had been struck by lightning.

His entire body went cold, and he couldn't believe his eyes.

He was completely paralyzed.

The other Mystic Alliance members were also stunned. They never expected to see Nathaniel here, showing such respect to James.

Then they recognized the janitor sweeping the floor as Mia, the eldest daughter of the Bruce Club.

'What's going on? Why are Mr. Davis and Ms. Davis here, doing jobs they looked down upon?'

Their minds went blank, and moments later, they broke out in a cold sweat.

They were in big trouble.

"Mr. Davis, Ms. Davis."

Marcus and his group knelt down.

"One by one, huh?"

"Not to be messed with, huh?"

Before James could speak, Nathaniel, leaning on his cane, went up and started beating Marcus and his group.

The cane struck them like raindrops, causing excruciating pain.

Nathaniel was furious. He had just started to mend his relationship with James, and now Marcus and his group had offended him again.

If it were anyone else, it might have been different, but these were his subordinates, and they had tried to wreck the clinic.

How could Nathaniel not be angry?

If he didn't handle this properly, all his efforts would be in vain, and James might ignore him.

So Nathaniel was ruthless, his cane striking with loud smacks, making even the patients afraid to watch.

"You bunch of idiots." Nathaniel jabbed Marcus's head with his cane and scolded, "How dare you offend James? Do you have a death wish? And using the Mystic Alliance's name to wreck the clinic, who gave you the guts?"

Marcus repeatedly begged for mercy. "Mr. Davis, I'm sorry. This is my fault. I won't dare do it again. Please give us another chance. We'll turn over a new leaf."

He wiped his tears, looking sincere.

Marcus knew that Nathaniel was genuinely angry, and if he wasn't careful, he could lose his life.

"Begging me?" Nathaniel snorted. "What's the use of begging me? You offended James."

Marcus and his group immediately turned to James, kowtowing repeatedly. "James, we were wrong today. We were idiots. Please forgive us and give us another chance."

Marcus felt extremely aggrieved. How had the loser he used to bully become so powerful? Even Mr. Davis was afraid of him?

But at this moment, he had no choice but to bow his head.

James walked forward with his tea, smiling faintly. "Do you submit?"

Marcus nodded repeatedly. "We do."

"Good. Break both their hands and throw them out."

James glanced at Marcus and directly issued the punishment. One broken hand wasn't enough of a lesson, so it would be both hands.

Mia and the others quickly acted, breaking the hands of Marcus Williams and his group and throwing them out like dead dogs.

Marcus cried in pain.

At that moment, James's phone vibrated. He answered it and soon heard Kaitlyn's panicked voice.

"James, something happened to the Smith Family."
